So I'm Crewe, and two players (Harry Davis and AJ Leitch-Smith) have been sold without me accepting a bid. Can the board go behind your back?

I didn't holiday. I think Leitch-Smith did when I gave him a new deal but when I did the same again I had bids come in which usually happens despite the release clause.

If the bid matches the players Release Clause then you'll have no say in the deal.

Who bidded? If it was a club that was bigger than Crew and those players had "big club release clause" on their contracts then you have no say in the matter. Once I was at Man U and I bidded like 10m for someone and he had big club release clause so they couldn't reject. I didn't know he had that clause a the time so I could have bidded like 1k and they couldn't have rejected.

You have to match the transfer value of the player, they won't just accept anything , you also should have cancelled the offer and bid again just the release amount .

Yeah they won't accept anything but there was once when I was at Woking they bidded 500k for a 1m player.

 

Yeah I could have cancelled it but it was back when I was totally new to the game.

Yeah makes sense, I guess the clauses at a club like Porto must be huge as it never happened there.

If you sign a contract never put the clauses.You might lose your best players
