Congratz on part 1! Staying in Brazil could be a good thing as it'll drag you closer to the 1k :).

True. I'll be patient and only jump ship when the right offer comes in.

European leagues have begun and no decent teams available to continue Chapter 2, which will be in either England or Spain. Bummer.

In the meantime I'm making sure Corinthians are getting their results and my boy Malcom's doing his thing on the pitch scoring 48 goals in 48 games. 218 goals total.

Cheers!

That's actually perfect as the upcoming transfer window in January is a great opportunity to get him immediately to my new club. Having won the Brazilian league a couple times as well as several cups including the Copa Libertadores I think I stand a good chance getting the Atletico job.

3 weeks later...

Screenshot_2015-01-04-13-38-06.jpg

Finally, what took them so long. 78M? nice..but I know that number will drop.

Before I accept the offer let's look at Malcom's goal tally in Brazil.

Screenshot_2015-01-04-13-38-32.jpg

244 goals under my watch. I need to get him ASAP.

Screenshot_2015-01-04-13-40-45.jpg

Step 1 completed.

From those 78M I was promised I only see 36M lol bastards! Malcom was last time I checked 44.5M.

I'm going to adopt Corinthians formation (3-6-1) so no fullbacks needed and only one or two subs up front. I placed 2 expensive players I won't need on the transfer list to generate extra cash + decreased the wage budget to get a new budget of 51M.

In the end it wasn't necessary to sell anyone (yet) as the 51M was just enough to get Malcom to Spain.

Screenshot_2015-01-04-13-52-47.jpg

Awesome and quick to. Perfect.

Screenshot_2015-01-04-13-53-05.jpg

Fans overjoyed with their new top striker. Can't wait to put him in a stronger team and take on Europe's elite.

Screenshot_2015-01-04-13-53-58.jpg

No goals scored during our short seperation which makes counting his goals under my watch a little easier.

Malcom's Profile

Screenshot_2015-01-04-13-53-46.jpg

I'm sure he's delighted with his new club and new wages. Hopefully he's forgiven me for denying his plentiful new contract requests during his last 2 seasons in Brazil. We're buddies again.

Road to 800 goals:

Chapter 1: Malcom in Brasil (completed)

- 1st season: 45 goals (Corinthians)

- 2nd season: 62 goals (Corinthians)

- 3rd season: 63 goals (Corinthians)

- 4th season: 74 goals (Corinthians) +

total of 244 goals in Brazil

Chapter 2: Malcom in Spain (in progress..)

- 5th (1/2-)season: ..... goals (Atletico Madrid)

Chapter 3: Malcom in England

Chapter 4: Malcom in Holland

Progress:

goalstwohundred.jpg

I swapped the chapters to match with his updated storyline. Also, eventhough he's scored 244 goals in total already those extra 44 will count for the 1K challenge but not for this -around the world in 800 goals- challenge of course as he'll need to score 200 goals in his Atletico shirt...starting now!

Chapter 2

- Malcom in Spain -

(coming..)

Cheers!

Thanks guys.

He's a few games in and he's settled in ultra fast I can tell you already he's destroying it in La Liga.

Surrounded by top class players he's turned into a Monster!

Update tomorrow.

With a much stronger team to play in I was expecting big things from Malcom. Eventho the defences were also much tougher than he'd been used to back in Brazil he showed his true class in his first half season with his new Atletico side.

Malcom's La Liga Debut

6jan.jpg

A late goal denied us points but not having set the proper player roles this loss is entirely my fault. A good debut tho.

Malcom's here

What can I say. He's settled in well?

First Madrid Derby

Well done. Having started at Atletico in 7th spot 12 points behind Barca and Real the gap's decreasing rapidly but there's probably too litle time to overtake the two. Not my biggest worry tho. Malcom's doing crazy so I'm pleased.

Reality Check

30mar.jpg

Barca statement. They're the boss in Spain. For now..

Give me time..next season Atletico will be more than ready. So will Malcom.

Ref Denies Hat-Trick

3apr.jpg

A shame. It would've been a proper response to our earlier loss.

Another Day Another Hat-Trick

6apr.jpg

More Barca Misery

10apr.jpg

Altho Malcom's doing absolutely brilliantly in front of goal the team performance needs to be perfect next season. I need one more transfer window to get Atletico where I want it to be. These losses vs Barca are feeding my determination to succeed.

Considering how much he cost Athletico, Holland was definitely a no go. Tbh his value shouldn't have increased that much from playing in Brazil. Yeah it happened with Neymar and a few select others, but being a standout player in Brazil of all places shouldn't make you a 50 million player. Nevertheless, you're making lemonade out of lemons so well done.

Yes Anyone taking on this challenge will need a true 'hidden' gem or they'll be in the mess I am.

Still very much a mystery if I'll be able to drag him to Holland when he's in his 30's to complete this challenge.

Decent season to be fair but I knew it was never going to be as good as his first insane 6 months at the club where he managed to hit 46 goals in 28 games. Not a single hat trick this season. That's disappointing. Still a fair amount of goals despite the disruptive little injuries now and again.

Added Wanyama to the squad in the Jan window as a response to 'injury crisis' and he proved a very welcome addition to the team. He definitely earned his place for season 7.

That definitely is.

Two more seasons to wrap up Spain and he'll still be just 25.

Then England finding a team might take a bit + 4 seasons to get 200 there Malcom will be 30-ish.

I'd say I'm on course.

Season 7

As I had a rather bumpy ride towards to end last season I decided to switch to a new formation. After completing this current season I've come to believe that it seems best to start every new season with a new formation. All saves I've done on FMH2015 those starting with new formations go smoothest. I've also made a lot more use of my subs which seems to have helped avoid a mid season slump + different set of match settings for home and away games which I previously was to lazy to bother but damn has a combo of these things led to a massive season for Malcom.

I have way too many screenshots but couldn't decide which ones to leave out so here's an attempt to an organized recap of.....

Malcom's

Monstrous

Season...

...in bits

Formation

formation361-1.jpg

Here's how I came to this formation. Last season the triangle with Wanyama-Saul-Koke was magnificent so I needed to keep those 3 intact. Especially Koke whom I thought as a winger did ever so well as BWM. With Saul BBM and block Wanyama as DLM they stood their ground. The experiment with 3 APM's behind Malcom was a mere test as I couldn't decide whom to leave out so I just hoped it would generate a few extra goals compared to last season. I had bought Januzaj for a penny and these 3 provided the needed assists.

With those 6 spots filled I had no other choice than using 3 men at the back again. Which is ok. Makes subbing easy.

August

Nice start for both Atletico and Malcom

Good performances and good amount of goals. Finally a hat trick which Malcom hadn't managed in the entire last season.

Two more hat tricks. Fantastic month.

Close to another hat trick wasn't it for 3 silly disallowed goals.

Malcom vs Former Club

What an EPIC final. And that vs the Brazilian team I started with. Had to paste two screenies in one to get the shoot-out in its entirety.

February

feb24.jpg

Injury woes. We managed to go thru thus generate more games for Malcom but he's going to miss a handful due to injury.

March

Malcom's injured.

Returns mid month but takes a few games to find his form back.

April

apr7.jpg

apr11.jpg

apr28.jpg

No hat tricks but more goals adding to his already impressive total.

May

Ending the season with a penalty. Best season so far!

Malcom's Profile

profileMa.jpg

Would have expected more green by this point tbh but so what. His performances and his goals tell a different story.

Malcom's Tally

426g426g.jpg

Those are the numbers I like to see. Big season and very much back on track. I'm delighted.

I might start with the same formation next season just to confirm to myself that successive seasons with the same tactics won't be as good but I'll have an alternative plan in place. However, closing in on 400 goals this chapter is nearly done.

So I have more important matters, England, on my mind. Let's hope I get a decent team to continue this journey.

Road to 800 goals:

Chapter 1: Malcom in Brasil (completed)

- 1st season: 45 goals (Corinthians)

- 2nd season: 62 goals (Corinthians)

- 3rd season: 63 goals (Corinthians)

- 4th season: 74 goals (Corinthians) +

total of 244 goals in Brazil

Chapter 2: Malcom in Spain (in progress..)

- 5th (1/2-)season: 46 goals (Atletico Madrid)

- 6th season: 55 goals (Atletico Madrid)

- 7th season: 81 goals (Atletico Madrid)

- 8th season: .... goals (Atletico Madrid)

Chapter 3: Malcom in England

Chapter 4: Malcom in Holland

I've just spent the last half hour laughing at the SI forums about how realistic the NME is then I come here and see you tearing the world apart with that tactic lol, pure brilliance :D.

Anyway cracking season mate, you'll be on the plane to England in no time, KIU!

Agreed. No offence Bati, this is a great career and I'm glad you've found a tactic that works.

But that formation is ridiculous  of course, those of us who aren't happy with the "realism" (and 15 min matches eating 40% battery) should just stick to Super Mario and Tetris

Btw I've had some thoughts about moving to Holland. I don't see you convincing Mal to go to there in his twilight (cos IRL players don't go to weaker leagues to end their careers do they??) so I've got some solutions I'm gonna add to the challenge. I'll give you a bum when they're up.

I will give you a bump, when they are up.

@ Ashez, Yeah no wingers just a 'spine' with abandoned grasslands on the sides LOL

Also what I did opposed to previous seasons is start every game with 100% fitness players only.

Except Malcom of course who starts at 90+% or subbed in if below that.

Seems every player is more consistent throughout the season this way and no slump.

But I'm sure this formation will be decent at best next season. It's probably a FMH2015 thing to make us swap formations more often.

@ Lee-Roy, Yeah the moving to Holland thing never left the back of my mind.

I'm still in for the 1KC challenge tho if this one's beyond repair.

Thanks a lot for looking into that.

It just made me laugh as Leroy and myself were talking about the rubbish that is spoken on the SI forums and when I came back here I saw that insaneness lol. When you read comment after comment about how realistic and amazing the NME is you don't expect to see a formation cleaning up like yours does/did, I'm 85% sure that wouldn't even work on the OME haha, even using three at the back with wingbacks I've found wingers ripping me to shreds.

Anyway I'm going way off topic so back onto the career, hopefully Leroy has something cool up his sleeve :D.

Thanks.

I'm using the same formation in the current season and as expected not as dominating as before.

Still getting results in but fewer goals.

I'll go 'disposable' formation style from here on. ;-)

Starting season 8 with Malcom still at Atletico Madrid I'm only 18 goals shy of the required 200 in Spain.

No additions to the squad. Just get it on with they're good to go. Not planning to stay for too long anyway..hopefully.

Best August Game

Best September Game

Yes.. goal number 198 and 199 in Spain are in..surely next game's THE one.

200 Goals in Spain!

400goals.jpg

That was rather quick. Excellent.

Malcolm's 200 goals in Spain

So what's next?

Next is Chapter 3: England.

I will continue banging in the goals with Malcom in Spain in order to increase his overall goal tally until one of the big teams in the EPL is in need of a manager. I'll take the leap and start negotiations ASAP to bring my wonderboy to my new club. Let's hope it won't take too long.

I'm actually enjoying this great Atletico side will miss this tidy squad. But I got a job to do.

Yes it's one of the exciting parts of the challenge checking the jobs list.

Probably a race between Manchester teams and Chelsea. Liverpool and Arsenal can probably afford him too i think.

Don't think Spurs are in on this one.

Nice!! Seems like you only moved to Athletico the other day :P

A season without him may prove a necessary stepping stone of the wrong jobs come up but the challenge will still be intact
