Season Eight - Club Atlético de Madrid

So we are over halfway through the challenge now, we are on course to finish in the next 6-7 seasons hopefully. My front three should be ok stats wise then before they decline...

Spanish Super Cup

A comfortable two leg win on Mirandes starts the season well.

European Super Cup

A last minute Thalles winners help us lift a second cup against Barca.

Spanish Cup

That's 3 cups for the season as we ease past Real thanks to a brace from Thalles.

European Champions Cup

Another title as we take the win late on against A.C. Milan

Liga BBVA

Just one defeat and 100 goals and 100 points in a great campaign.

Seasonal Awards

Baptistão claims yet another Ballon D'or with Thallas second once more.

Another double for Baptistão as he takes the Spanish Player of the Year Award again with Thalles second again.

My turn to beat Ancelotti beats to lift the Liga BBVA Manager of the Year Award.

Another 100 plus goals from my front three with great support from Pogba.

Triple Threat Players

Léo Baptistão - Just slightly down but over 40 goals was pleasing.

Geuvânio - Over 30 for him all adds to the total.

Thalles - A drop in form down to 30 goals but is doing well for Brazil.

Slighty down to 106 goals but with the World Cup we should be able to make that up.

Brazil - World Cup

We have a easy start and a good win against England set ups a Quarter Final against Portugal. Our poor finishing lets us down though as Portugal sneak past us but we managed to add 8 goals to our tally.

I agree, we are averaging 113 per season so just have to keep that going and we should be fine.

Another solid season! Those ITN goals will make a massive difference, they're scoring for fun. 

Shame about the WC but IMO all you have to do is do enough to keep your position as manager, the goals come from friendlies and qualifying.

Thanks Ash, Yeah, they are really pushing to the target closer so its vital to keep going. So far we have been lucky injury wise(touch wood)!

I always set a target of 120-130 goals a season so with ITN goals you should just make it before their legs go. The only problem with that is sticking with ITN management until the end. I honestly can't see how people can do season after season managing their country, it drives me crazy.

Yeah, that sounds about right. A couple of the guys have turned 30 now so only a few great years left. I know what you mean, it does become a drag after a while. I always forget to even bother checking my squad before I confirm it and then realise I have 5 players injured!

When I did my French Connection Triple Threat I took over France for 4 seasons in case I needed ITN goals. I never really changed the squad and after winning the World Cup I realised most of my players were 34-36. Still, no substitute for experience lol.

A goal fest over two legs but Real outscore us!

All three lads help us romp past Leverkusen.

A terrible first leg ensure we go out in the Fourth Round to Sevilla.

A dissapointing final as we lose to Cruzeiro.

European Champions Cup

We claim back to back titles after keeping our nerve in the shootout. 27 chances and still couldn't beat them in normal time!

Liga BBVA

Another easy run to the title with 100 plus goals.

Geuvânio - Again matched his tally of last season with 33 goals.

Thallas - A good season as he hits over 40 goals.

Back up to 117 goals for the season plus the goals from the Copa America puts us right back on track. Over 1,000 goals now at 115 average per season so we are looking good if the lads keep scoring! 

Brazil - Copa America

We started well with three straight wins but again our finishing let us down as we lose to Paraguay on pens after dominating the match, can't seem to quite get this Brazil side going like my club side but the bonus was we managed to add 11 goals to our tally.

Yeah, the other two are slightly older so I would hope that Thalles can help the other guys out with some more goals!

Léo Baptistão - At 33 Léo has an incredible season with 61 goals!

Geuvânio - Forgot to screenshot him but he had a terrible season with just 16 goals.

Thallas - Thalles hit a record high too of 52 goals.

The best season ever with 129 goals this season, it came out of the blue. It leaves us just 59 goals short of the target so we should complete with ease in the next season.

Brazil

We cruise through the World Cup Qualifying stage.

The group stage was straightforward enough but annoyingly we went out to Croatia in the next round. Just can't seem to be able to get my tactic to work well on the international stage but the red card didn't help.

....Then this happens...The shame!

I know, the season came out of the blue, really. No tactic change and Baptistão was pushing 34! Hopefully finish it off this coming season.
