Chat What do you want for the future of this game?

Recommended Posts

Hey guys

Just a little discussion starter for you……

In what direction would you personally want the game to go for the future?

I would love it if it went closer to FM with features but I know some others, mainly the older guys who have played for a few years, don't want it to go down that route.

But what do you think about it.

FMM2017 will be a huge crossroad I think and will map out the future of Football Manager Mobile.

I would love to be able to retrain players till they are natural in a new positions, obviously it wont work with every player but it would be cool to do. A bit like Bale used to be a LB and now he is a LW

I think a major problem with FMM is that when the game was first released it was 5 years behind. Now it hasn't had much improvement so it is 15 years behind. All those who know FM2010 aren't getting the depth they need to play the game. I personally don't ever want it to be like FM2016 but I would like more depth while still remaining user friendly.

To be honest, i like the game as how it is already. I don't think any big changes is neccessary but IMO the transfers need to change and be random. Other then that, i think it will be cool if there is naturally changes to the top teams like maybe in 2023 QPR will be competing for euro spot ETC... ( without us wreaking top teams by buying all their players) It just could be a cool feature for small clubs to evolve

I would like to see more in the way of the players’ history in a way that allows a gamer to add to the legacy of a team. i.e. historical highest goal scorers, most appearances for a club, club legends for managers and players, all which can be added to and overtaken. I think that would give a lot of satisfaction certainly to me as user as I know my contribution matters to the club.

End of season reviews, were targets met, did you over achieve, are the club releasing a DVD to celebrate their greatest ever season (maybe not). For EME maybe a highlight reel of goals and cup wins.

I haven’t played the full version since probably about FM2010 but I think that all of that functionality was on the full version then if not earlier.

For me,what I would like most is the ability to hold team talks before, during and after the game. A few media interaction features should be added (not too much) and one of the most important aspects of the game - the tactical options. It's okay atm but I could get used to a couple of new and useful options, such as set piece arranging or something like that.

P.S. I'm back. Anyone missed me? :P

Small improvements:

1. When you start a new career, it defaults to the settings you used to start the last career (eg name, nationality, coaching style etc) but can be overridden.

2. An editpad so you can jot down ideas/reminders. Sometimes I might have something in mind for a player but have to stop playing - when I come back to it, Ive forgotten what I wanted to do (put it down to me getting old)

3. Scouts actually made useful (Im not sure this area has been touched in years). One way could be that they give you more accurate info about a player the more you scout them (eg after scouting a player for a year, you should be able to have some idea if they are injury prone or not)

4. Either fix the transfer bugs or allow you to do a instant sell (for say 80% of their value) or allow you to "reset" the transfer status of a player so you can start again.

5. Hard/Easy versions of the game.  Hard could mean that the game mechanics give a bias (eg +25%) to the opposition winning when calculating game results.

I posted some of my own ideas in another thread on a general chat section of the community

My wishes is mostly to do with rivalries, media interaction, reserves, picking own friendlies etc...

Team talks are something I'm considering for the future - however if I put them into FMM I want it to be absolutely clear to the user the effect they've had during a match and importantly 'why' ... so its not something I'm going to rush to add into the game.

I'm on the fence with teamtalks, I see why it could be a cool feature but I'd worry it would just bog the game down and be an unneeded time sink.

Selecting friendlies pops up a lot and it's one I'm not fussed on, I think it depends on who you're playing as. A lot of the friendlies ATM seem pointless tbh as they're normally too hard or too easy. The amount of times I win friendlies 7-0 and think I'm onto something only to get smashed in the first league game etc.

Personally I'd like to see coaches expended with them being easier to find, more impactful and actually turned into a feature. Set pieces is another must as I find them massively frustrating ATM, especially as the PSP had them. When you score or concede from a corner it's pure luck as you had no impact in it, whenever the AI score from one it feels cheap.

More importantly however I think the game needs to feel new and fresh, new leagues are a must for this as are new player roles. Look how hyped the community was when we thought coaches were a game changer instead of purchase bait.

This is great to hear. It's also great to see some one like yourself on here and taking note of what the fans are saying.

I've read features  for the main game and if it were at a possibility be create a manager maybe and the ability to go to the FA with things (that was a feature back on CM01/02), personally for me FMM16 is a cracking game I won't mention wanting new leagues because everyone has said that at some point

I'd love to have release by mutual consent added. It should lead to you not having to wait 2yrs to release a player because their wages are too high for anyone to want to sign them or release them.

Other than that greater tactical fluency, this could be implemented in 2 ways: adding player roles like shadow striker or wide target man and adding things like fluidity, time wasting etc. These could lead to more real life tactics being created on fmm (for example it has been a dream of mine to build cantenaccio  or  Rinus Mitchells total football on the game.)

Other then these two points there's just the same old demands as every year: New leagues, realistic transfers(the bpl spending £112m in the summer window, isn't realistic,) inflation (no way the record transfer fee rises £7m in 18 seasons,) ability to change stadium and actual youth academies (could be implemented as viewable squads with stats and coach reports, could also have abroad academies and poaching.)

I'd like to see new roles added like the anchor man, duties (attack, support, defend), improvement in some roles and mentality for example I haven't noticed any difference between the full backs or wingbacks when the mentality is set on defend or attack, the possibility to add clauses when offering contracts to players and the possibility to add a future fee when you loan in a player because I'm tired of developing the player of a rival and when wanting to buy him during the season or at the end they ask for unrealistic fees, I'd also like to know a players strong and weaker foot because I find it ridiculous selecting a player to take a corner from the right side if you don't know how well he's good with his right foot, I'd like to talk to my players to praise them for their performance in the last match, their form, and their performance in training

Been playing FM lately. TBH, I think I prefer the tactics thing. More roles:FalseNine,Anchorman. The mentality and all that jazz

I'd rather they perfect the current ones before adding more.

Forgot to mention specific training for a specific role.. If I have an IF I want him to remain that not to change to a winger after 2 months

For me, I would love to see better graphics, something similar to the FM version on the computer. Aside from this, I also would like to see Germany finally being playable and more default tactics to pick from.

I would love to see it follow minecraft pocket edition. Where it has more and more features that the full game has while not being the full game. It should have a little more depth..and possibly no 30 year limit? And regens instead of evogens? The game gets repetitive year on year with the evogens as it's essentially the same players year on year.

I did actually start a discussion about this topic not realising this had started (sorry) but it was abruptly closed down by Dec. I don't have a lot of time on my hands to start discussions or sometimes join in, I just thought it was a bit rude of Dec to just close it down and rite a short message about using the other discussions of the same topic.

Rant over!

Not really. There are 2 or 3 similar discussions that your post could have fit in. If we allowed every discussion that was similar to be in its own threat then no discussion would get comments and it would be hard to find anything else. A site is the balance of discussions and tidiness and as there were 2 topics on the same subject within 5 down from it there wasn't a need for a third.

Sorry if it upset you but for the sake of site tidiness and user experience I feel I made the right call here. Also if you have an issue please message me and not spam another topic in future. Thanks.

One thing I want is custom training scheme. What I mean by this is that whilst now you have a pop up menu appear to select a training scheme e.g. general, attacking, there should be a custom option on that pop up menu which takes you to the screen where you choose the intensity of each training e.g. general, motivational. Then you should be able to choose the intensity of each training and press confirm and only that player has that scheme but you should be able to give other players a custom training scheme, that is different, if you wanted. This would help a lot with clubs that have a B team such as Valencia or Sporting CP.

I agree training could be a little more in depth but having to set it for 20-50 odd players with reserves teams would take forever, then you'd also need to set it for each signing etc.

That's not what I meant. I was referring to adding a custom option on the pop up menu so you can have a custom scheme for certain players. I mean the amount of time I've had player complain due to training and I know if I just move the motivional down one it solve it but I still have other players who don't mind it and are growing well so what should I do?

Oh I see, that's what most people use the two spare schedules to do. Say my "fitness training schedule" is actually a lessened attacking one etc

There is a problem with that. Say that I have players with bad physicals then I'll put them on fitness training but then you can't personalise for every player. I've seen that I can use intensive training and put motivational to hard for a player and then they don't get injured but I can't have specific schedule just for one player.

What I want from the next installation is RELATIONSHIP between players and player to manager. Like the what Yorke and Cole had for United or Lampard and Drogba had for Chelsea. I think it would be nice if a certain player plays better if their "soul mate" are also on the pitch playing in their favored position. In terms of effectiveness.

Also relationship between player and fans/manager. Its like when RvP scored for the Netherlands and he rushed to LVG for a high five, Ronaldo's refusal to celebrate after scoring against former club. Basically all the romance the media exploit today.
