Chat Players I always sign

Recommended Posts

This is my first post, please tell me if you have any suggestions on how to improve!

Despite my best efforts I always end up signing the same players, some you'll probably know, hopefully others will be more of a surprise.

Players 1 to 6 are from my Liverpool save in November 2018. I am trying to upload images of their progress and stats but I am having trouble doing so, sorry!

1. Leon Goretzka (M RC)

Leon Goretzka .png

Easily one of my favourite players on the game, he's been an absolute beast for me in the heart of midfield. His stats are all green, except for tackling, leadership and positioning which are 13, 13 and 12 respectively. Originally he plays for Schalke, but I had to buy him from Inter Milan in 2017 for a massive £57m. Despite the eye watering price tag I always find myself bidding on the German youngster who I employ as my side's deep playmaker. If you are playing as a top side, and can afford his £150,000 wage demands then you must make a move for Goretzka, he's a youngster who'll be able to play for 10 or more seasons with a fantastically quick growth.

My rating = 10/10 (if you can afford him)

2. Álvaro Morata (ST C)

Alvaro Morata.png

Another pricey player but the Juventus star can tear any defence apart. He cost me £46m in 2018 after solid seasons in the Italian top flight and he quickly settled into my Liverpool squad, cementing his place with 16 goals in 22 appearances so far. I use Morata as a poacher but with his 20 shooting and movement, 19 dribbling, 17 pace, and 15 aerial he will fit into any role in your frontline. He's another big club player, with high wage demands but you're guaranteed seasons of goals with him in your side.

My rating = 9/10

3. Predrag Rajkovic (GK)

P Rajkovic.png

With 20 aerial, handling, reflexes and decisions the young Serb is a fantastic shot stopper. Bought from M. Tel-Aviv for a measly £2.7m in 2018 Predrag has swiftly become my number 1 keeper, and he's only 23 meaning he'll stay that way for another 10 to 12 seasons. A bargain if you don't buy him straight away (he's only just moved to Tel-Aviv) with stats making him one of the best keepers in the world.

My rating = 9/10

4. Emre Can (D/M RLC)

E Can.png

One of the game's most versatile players, comfortable anywhere in defence or in midfield, he works best however as a central midfielder and I use him as a box to box midfielder. Already at Liverpool I allowed Can to start week in week out for me, and he rewarded me with some fantastic performances. With great tackling and passing he moves the ball up the pitch toward a deadly strike force. Not the most glamorous midfielder in game, but one who is a great utility man and a top class player.

My rating = 7/10

5. Richairo Zivkovic (ST C)

R Zivkovic.png

Probably the wonderkid of FMM16, the Ajax youngster has all the stats to make him a world class strikers, blistering pace, clinical finishing and inspired movement. Zivkovic not only scores the goals but also seems to rack up the assists too. I bought him from Ajax in the 2017/18 season for £11.5m which makes him an option for many top flight clubs. The Dutchman has all the qualities to be the best striker in game, and his quick progress means his value sky rockets, after one season he's tripled his transfer fee to £38.5m. A fantastic option as a lone striker or part of an attacking duo he is a must buy for any manger.

My rating = 10/10

6. Aymeric Laporte (D C)

A Laporte.png

This Basque centre back is the complete centre back and with 17 passing he's a fantastic ball playing defender. He's the highest paid player at the club for a reason on £180,000 a week ensuring that the opposition do not breach the defence. Again at £24m he doesn't come cheap, but a world class centre back with age on his side commands this price. Definitely worth a look at if you need to shore up the defence.

My rating = 8/10

7. Tyrone Mings  (D L) (from my 2019/20 season Sunderland save)

Tyrone Mings.png

Took me a while to persuade Bournemouth to part with Tyrone but following their relegation back to the Sky Bet Championship in the 2018/19 a bid of only £2m was enough to prise the then 25 year full back from the Cherries. For me Mings makes a great buy for any low to mid level Premier League club, as his wage demands are low, and was an integral part of my Champions Cup winning Sunderland side.

As his stats show now he's a decent all round full back, good in the air, strong and a good tackler, with his pace, dribbling and technique allowing him to get forward on occasion. In 88 appearances for my black cats he's been solid defensively, but picked up 6 yellow cards in both seasons with me, and seen red once.

If you're looking for a solid, dependable and cheap LB I'd recommend Mings.

My rating = 7/10

Really nice post. Great writing. I'd love to see some screenshots of them in your saves. I feel that would be a really interesting addition. Good work.

Interesting choices. I've had a Liverpool save myself ( Yeah the one where I hit the 2.14B player sold display limit).

Just saying, Emre Can is bloody amazing. Usually use him at DLP or BWM in a 4312 formation for that save.

Never used Goretzka, poached Ødegaard from Real Madrid for 20+m. Served me for 10+ years. Legendary.

Haven't used Morata or Zivkovic either. My go to are usually Breel Embolo and Gabriel Barbosa.

Rajkovic along with Rulli (got free on precontract from Real Sociedad) set my goalkeeper slot for years. Brilliant, though Dragkowski is great too.

Laporte I usually don't buy the first few years. I usually go with Jonathan Tah and Niklas Sule (sometimes John Stones). But in a few years he gets let out and wants first team football, then I buy him from Real Madrid for 5.75m. Works great if you aren't managing a Spanish club.

Realised you haven't included a winger. My Liverpool save used a narrow 4312 without wingers, so I didn't buy any the first few seasons. In my new saves though, Julian Brandt was worked wonders.

At the wing back positions (for me it is the hardest position to find good players cheap), but I've had Moreno and Clyne in Liverpool. Good cheap options include Kyle Walker-Peters who is natural on both left/right back and Felix Passlack who has been pretty good in a few of my saves.

Can is amazing but I try to avoid him as a DLP because he usually has "tries tricks" in red for that position.

Morata has a brilliant combo of greens (his heading is a very nice addon)

As a Liverpool fan, the stat that stands out for me for Rajkovic is his communication - miles better than Mignolets

I use the 4-3-1-2 too, always seems to work wonders!

I replaced Mignolet after a season, went for Muslera but now I've got Rajkovic I can't see a use for him! I'll definitely give Rulli a try, sounds like a good player.

Sule is always a great shout at CB, I got him when I did an AC Milan save, him and Romagnoli were unbeatable.

Yeah Laporte I got after about a season I think, just think the man's a beast, quality passing as well.

Must admit I hardly use wingers, normally play a 4-3-2-1 or a tight 4-4-2 diamond, only time I really have was in my sunderland save but I manged to bag a re-gen Robben who was something else.

Yeah Mignolet isn't great, can make do for a season with him but I found he leaked goals. I love Morata in game, find he always puts in a good performance for me! Worth the big price tag too

Have you tried Balde Keita and Leroy Sane? They turn into great inside forwards.

I haven't mate, Keita always goes to someone else for ridiculous money and I've never really bothered with Sane although I've heard he's a quality player. I might start a season and upload progress to here, if I do I'll try and use wingers!

I love Can but never used Goretzka or most of the others have used Zivkovic on many occasions and he is a great talent but my go to player is Macelo Meli from Bocca usually get him for £5-7M but is a pain with English clubs as he very rarely gets a work permit but an excellent BBM if you can get him

Started the Liverpool save with 4312, but slowly transitioned to a regular 442.

My Robben regen that save was legendary. 20 shooting. Scored sick goals long distance (this is EME btw). Assisteed lots. And had a catchy u name (Marco Smits)

Mine was called Jesper Swinkles, only 20 and had 20 dribbling and shooting, doesn't score many but assists all the time

For me he started playing at PSV in the 2018/19 season and I bought him in 2019/20 for £18M.
