Career Watt next? A Son Don't Let It Slip Away Challenge

So guys I am back with a new career challenge and I'm going back to a challenge I did three times on FMH15 and have now picked up this challenge for FMM16.

For those who are unfamiliar with it, here are the details for Son Don't Let It Slip Away

So as before I have taken a different players from the few that were mentioned....The chosen player is Tony Watt

Player Background

"This is stuff of legends. At the age of just 18 Tony Watt takes his place in Celtic folklore.....

For Watt, a Champions League goal against Barcelona at the age of 19 changed everything. It propelled his name across Europe at an age when footballers are liable to swallow their own hype. Neil Lennon criticised his attitude and training before Ronny Deila lost patience and shipped him off to Belgium. Stanley Menzo, his coach at Lierse, was critical while former Scotland under-21 manager Billy Stark urged Watt to start showing some personal responsibility. Scotland assistant manager Mark McGhee has described Tony Watt as a player he would “love to really smack around”

For the club I have chosen one that I haven't used so far this year and one where I think Watt can flourish.

We land at Sport Lisboa e Benfica.

I sign Watt for £4m plus Bebe

 

Can I turn Watt's career around and get him back on track?

Sport Lisboa e Benfica - Season 1

Transfers In

Lots of activity to shape the squad. Some youngsters for the future along with my must signing of Meli.

Transfers Out

Big money for Gaitan and Salvio, no need for wingers in my team!

Supertaça

A dream debut for Watt as his brace seals a comfortable win in the season opener against Sporting.

Portuguese League Cup

Another brace from Watt also Guedes too ensures our first League Cup

Taça de Portugal

Watt again helps us seal a cup treble with a win over Estoril.

Champions League

We struggled over two legs to break Chelsea down and the damage was done in the first leg of the First Round.

Portuguese Premier League

Just two defeats on our way to our first league title.

Season Awards

Watt wins the Premier League Player of the Year in his first season with Guedes second.

Semedo takes the Young Premier League Player of the Year awards with Talisca second.

I pick up the Premier League Manager of the Year award.

Squad Stats

Watt has an impressive first season. Hitting 49 goals in just 46 games. He had a few bouts of homesickness during
the season but nothing a new contract doesn't sort out! Guedes also impressed providing 17 assists.

Sport Lisboa e Benfica - Season 2

Transfers In

Another busy transfer season, lots of young regens and the defence needed boosting. Zappacosta is a steal of a right wing back.

Transfers Out

Shipped out all the deadwood from the B Team.

Supertaça

A comfortable opening win to the season over Estoril.

**Job News**

The big boys come calling with an offer from Bayern.

Portuguese League Cup

We are well beaten by Sporting in the final, a brace Slimani, the scourge of this career!

Taça de Portugal

Watt sets us on the way to an easy final win over Vit.Guimaraes.

Champions League

We make it all the way to the final but just Barca are just too strong in the final.

Portuguese Premier League

A closer title run in but we hold out to lift the league again.

Season Awards

Watt retains his Premier League Player of the Year award with Zappacosta second.

Talisca takes the Young Premier League Player of the Year award with Semedo second.

I retain the Premier League Manager of the Year award.

Squad Stats

Another class season from Watt who finishes just one goal short of last seasons total with 48 goals.
He now has 97 goals in 96 games! Meli was the driving force from Midfield.

Yeah, he has settled in nicely and banging the goals. It's not the strongest league in the world but he is being very consistent in his goals return.

That's why I love the lesser leagues, it's not the fact they're easier in general but the fact lesser players can be Gods in them.

I agree, he is actually a very clinical finisher. He doesn't waste as many chances as bigger name strikers I have used before.

Nice job Amazing to see Watt scoring but I'm not surprised because on one of my saves I once saw Newcastle buy Watt and he scored throughout the season and proved himself worthy of the Premier League

A steal to grab Gabi-Goal and the rest were young players to try and develop.

Few B team players and my youth products getting good loan experience.

Supertaça

A Watt pen helps us seal the Supertaça with a win over Vit.Guimaraes.

The big boys come calling with an offer from Atletico this time and then Bayern again.

Portuguese League Cup

We fall at the semi final stage to Braga, 20 chances though? 

Taça de Portugal

We lift the trophy with a narrow win over Nacional da Madeira.

Champions League

Inter make us pay for our missed chances in the First Round.

Portuguese Premier League

Sporting were too hot this season, just one defeat as I miss out on the title.

Incredible, as Watt picks up his first Ballon D'Or Award!

Watt wins his third straight Premier League Player of the Year award with Guedes second.

In his first season Barbosa takes the Young Premier League Player of the Year award with Grimaldo second.

I retain the Premier League Manager of the Year award.

Squad Stats

Watt passes fifty goals for the season with 54 blasted in just 49 games.
He now has 151 goals in 145 games! Barbosa and Guedes were backing him up well.

**Job News**

City and Utd offer me the chance to move to England.

Portuguese League Cup

We lift the cup with a narrow win over Porto in the final.

Taça de Portugal

A Gabi brace helps us seal the cup for another year against Arouca.

Champions League

What a final, thought Watt had won it with 85" winner but Real equalize in the 90"!
We manage to hold our nerve in the shootout to lift our first Champions League!

Portuguese Premier League

We regain our title back from Sporting this year.

Season Awards

Watt wins his Forth straight Premier League Player of the Year award with Barbosa second.

Guedes takes the Young Premier League Player of the Year award.

I retain the Premier League Manager of the Year award.

Squad Stats

Watt goes one better again with 55 goals in just 48 games.He now has 206 goals in 193 games!
Barbosa and Guedes were backing him up well in my lethal front three.

Transfers In

Just Jota and Clyne in as solid signings.

Transfers Out

Not much going on here.

Supertaça

Guedes with the only goal against Arouca.

European Super Cup

A Watt double helps us to sink Atletico in a five goal thriller.

Club World Championship

Watt on target against as we ease past Liga de Quito.

Portuguese League Cup

Sanches with the only goal to lift our forth cup of the season.

Taça de Portugal

Porto do a number on me in the semi final over two legs, I had over 30 chances in the two games!

Champions League/EURO Cup

We bomb out in the group stage miserably in the Champions league but go all the way to lift the Euro cup with a late winner in the final again Man Utd.

Portuguese Premier League

A stroll to the league title this season.

Season Awards

Watt makes it five in a row by winning the Premier League Player of the Year award with Guedes second.

Barbosa takes the Young Premier League Player of the Year award with my Gerrard regen second.

I retain the Premier League Manager of the Year award.

Squad Stats

Tony was slightly down to 47 goals this season from 53 games. He finishes with 253 goals in 246 games, a decent record I think you will agree. Barbosa and Guedes were backing him up well in my lethal front three.
