Taffs 1K Attempt (Akpom goes on holiday)

So while attempting my first ever 1K challenge I used a young English striker Chuba Akpom at Arsenal in the English Premier League on the EME.

Now I am getting decent results in that attempt, although I don't think I'll get anywhere near the target of 1000 goals, so as a side project I wanted to see how my chosen striker might fair in one of the (what are considered) easier leagues ie Brazil, Holland, Portugal etc 

So I decided to start a new 1K challenge to run parallel with my other one.

In the end I chose the Portuguese Premier League as I have never played in Portugal (or Brazil but didn't fancy it) and lets face it there are only three teams to chose from Sporting (POR), FCP or my chosen team SLB

So having taken over at SLB and brought Akpom in from Arsenal (for £12M) and set up the same tactic as my other challenge we set off to concur Portugal

Transfers

No screen shot but I noticed three thing when I took over from SLB

1. The age of some of there starters 

2. The amount of wide players they have (like 8-10)

3. The cream of young talent available (most notably Renato Sanches and Goncalo Guedes)

So apart from Akpom the only other player I bought was Antonio Rudiger from Stuttgart for £10M to strengthen my CD position)

I honestly can't remember who I sold just a few older or unwanted players as usual 

League and Cups

Well we had a good season all around with SLB winning all competitions 

  

A Very convincing win in the league only loosing one game and leaving a good 17 point gap on Sporting

We smash Sporting in the opening game and claim the Supertaca (with Akpom opening his SLB account in 5 minutes)

We also claim the League Cup, Teca De Portugal and The Champions Cup after penelties against FCP

Season Awards

We claim some end of season awards too with Akpom claiming the POTY with Renato Sanches in 2nd place and my young CB Nelson Semedo coming 2nd in the YPOTY and I claim my first MOTY award

So as for Akpom himself he had a good opening season (a few bouts of injury) 

The two month spell comes quite late in the season but here's his tally for the year (his EPL tally after 1 season was 38)

62 that's a good jump up from 38 in the EPL (and in less games too)

Here's his stats after 1 season on IT

Good stats in Dribbling, Shooting, Technique, Movment, Stamina and Strength but 18 Pace is awsome lets hope that helps him improve next year.

So what do we think, keep this thread going or was this a one off to show how much easier it is in other leagues

Season 2

So after a great start in the Portuguese league lets see if Akpom can improve on an impressive 1st season tally

We start the season with an unexpected job offer

Flattered but we Reject the offer

Transfers 

Forgot to screen shot but my aim this year was to improve the Midfield so I bough Marcello Meli From Bocca for £7M and Danilo from Braga for £30M

League

So another season and another league title to win

And win it we did with plenty of room to spare and only 1 loss all season and only 6 goals conceded what a result

Cups

We start the season with an opening game in the Supertaca against Sporting 

And a double from our man Akpom sees us lift our first trophy of the season

Then we take on Akpom's former Club Arsenal in the Euro Supercup

This time a single Akpom goal was enough to lift our second trophy 

Again Akpom's single goal helps us left the Club World Championship and our third trophy

This time Akpom scores in Extra time to secure the League Cup and our 4th trophy

Unfortunately we miss out on the Tace de Portugal narrowly loosing to Sporting 

But a single goal from one of my new signings Meli sees us list the Champions Cup and our fifth trophy of the season

Fixtures

Our biggest struggle this year was keeping everyone (especially Akpom fit and with the amount of games played its a huge surprise to see how well the team did)

We clean house at the end of season awards

 

Akpom claiming another POTY award while my young RB Semedo claims the YPOTY and I grab myself another MOTY award but also having two of my players claiming the runner up stops as well

So did my main man break his tally from last season....

Well no actually he was no where near a 20 goal drop on last season, but combine his fitness (he was out for almost three months on and off) plus me messing with the tactics all season he did OK (got some important goals in the Cup competitions but need a vast improvement next year)

So a steller year for the team if not for Akpom himself we'll try much harder next year

Season 3

So after a very poor showing in his second season in Portugal can Akpom pick it up and get back on track

Transfers

We had a fairly busy transfer period bringing in some new blood.  Diego Jota was an immense signing and was great as my starting AP Roco and Vrsalijko were great additions to the Defence (I recomend anyone to sign Vrsaljko if they can as he's great for the bench as he's excellent as a FB on the Right or Left) Arrizbalaga came in to take the place of the ageing Julio Cesar in goal and Da Costa and Da Silva were brought in on loan as backup players

Fonte, Cristante and Samaris were let go due to no longer being needed and the others out on free transfer

It should be noted that i also brought Jovic and Up from my B team and Jovi was excellent as a backup for Akpom

League

So onto our third season in the Portuguese premier league and another straight forward affair  

 

Undefeated in the league this season and finished 22 points clear of Sporting

Cups

More success in the cups this year

We move Sporting to one side as Jovic replaces Akpom after an Injury and scores 2 with my new signing Jota getting his first of the season as well

Akpom and Jota combining nicely to see off Real Madrid in the Euro Supercup

Akpom and Jota again coming together to get us the win in the World Club Championship 

This time it's Gaitan with a rare goal and Akpom with a late second sees off Braga in the League cup final

A double from Akpom and Gaitan again sees off Belenenses to claim the Taca de Portugal

And last but not least the Champions cup comes back to Benfica with goals from Meli, Danilo and Guedes

Well I took one screen shot once he hit the 47 game mark to see how he matched up in the same amount of games last season

Only 4 more goals than last year can he use his extra games this year to rally at the end of the season

Not as much as I would have liked 56 goals isn't terrible but compared to his first season where he scored 6 more goals in 9 less games I'm missing something

So after three seasons we have 160 goals leaving a massive 840 left and to be honest I've lost my love for this particular save so I'm going to leave it here and concentrate on my original 1K and other saves I have going on

Unlucky mate. Like you said, you should just focus on your 1KC with Arsenal. Hopefully your other career goes better than this. Also with your Jovic you probably got a good PA roll. When I used him I got a shocker and he was really average

He has been in the B team on IT since I got there and he had a few good games then went quiet same with Akpom but I'll focus on the one with the Gunners for now but it's definitely given me a taste for a serious 1K attempt with a better striker but I'm still looking at the EPL for it we'll wait and see
