Part One

A great effort from Ash in the first part of the final season to give an unexpected exciting finale to this head to head. However, I know I just need to continue doing what I've done so far and hopefully that'll be enough to get me over the line! 15 points surely is nothing to make up in half a season?

I'll admit that when I did these transfers I thought the H2H was already over so aside from the chosen two and Mammana, these are simply squad players to give us more depth as that's where we went wrong last season. We also turned down a £75M bid from Bayern for Bazoer, considering this is the last season I saw no point in accepting.

Very happy with these two as I've used them both to great success in the past, they should be reliable enough to get me over the line. Although...

A brilliant first half of the season if I do say so myself, too many draws but we're top of the league and unbeaten in all competitions! We came through a CL group of death with PSG and Dortmund and will play either Barca or Bayern in the last 16, I can't remember

Part Two
My Final Update

Today is the day where this journey comes to an end, for me at least. Sam has an update which will be posted in the coming days which will crown a deserved winner but once this update is posted i've done all i can. I made mistakes in the second season which i hope don't cost me too much but it's apart of the game and it's what makes this type of challenge fun, it's not about winning and losing but about trying things you wouldn't usually and learning from your mistakes. Challenge wise i've absolutely loved this short career as it had a little of everything and i'm delighted to see you guys have enjoyed it as well. I hoped this career would go down well but the amount of views and comments has surprised me so on behalf of Sam and myself i must thank you all. Now let's just get on with the show, the sooner i post this the sooner my fate will be known. Wish me luck.

I only made one signing during this window and it was for old time sakes. 

He cost me £5.75m and at that price i couldn't turn him down. You know i'm an old romantic so the idea of bringing this series of H2H's full circle appealed. For those of you who don't no the H2H verse Sam i lost was based on Perez so he was just a fitting signing. Who knows maybe he could help me win this after basically costing me big time in the previous H2H.

This is where my frustrations lye as i'm so annoyed by this finish! I wanted the league but we just couldn't achieve it! Our goals scored was good but our defence cost us massively, this formation worked for what i wanted challenge wise but as formations go it's pretty poor. Combination of long shots from too many positions wasting chances and being piss poor at the back will rarely equal success. 

Europa League

Finally some good news as we end this career with two Europa League crowns in three seasons with Bernard scoring the all important goal.

The first leg basically went the way with the AI deciding i just wasn't winning this tie.

Only eight less than part one which is fantastic in my opinion, in the first half every team is a possibility but in the second most have already been crossed off, to only have eight points less is fantastic in my opinion. If you can be bothered to check my fixtures with whom i've crossed off this season you'll soon see how i should have done much better however. Giovinco also needed multiple chances to score (had two games where 10/11 meant no goals) while Lemar by nature was a tad hit and miss.

Sam has half a season in hand but as it stands we have a sixteen point lead. This my not be the most commanding of leads but if Sam mirrors my season and get's eight less than he achieved in the first half he'll finish on (29 points from part one - 8 = 21) so a potential total of 151. While this would still have me losing the challenge i'd be incredibly happy with it being so tight seen as we all thought it was over after my poor season two. 

This is all unlikely though as Rogic alone only needs eight goals to overtake us and as he hit 9 in part one that's a real possibility, all i know is i've done my best, i've hopefully made it tight and i've had a good time so what more can you ask for.

Just happy to be playing the game again, if you guys can get enjoyment out of that too it's win win :D. I do enjoy using Giovinco, hasn't let me down yet.

Yeah, just swung on that one decision and injury really. That MC was ideal but he just didn't deliver, maybe could have tried this formation then but that likely would have got me sacked haha. That's the beauty of FMM, it can be played in so many different ways. 

I enjoyed playing it, I believe Sam did too but most importantly you guys enjoyed following it, that's all that matters :).
