Are the steps still the same?

Yes. All you have to do is to replace Löw's ID with yours and add Germany ID to the new line that henda666 added, like last year.

That aside, I have one question: do you guys know how to use change.txt file? I want to remove Löw from his position so the save can be use properly withou the IGE. Thanks

Hex Editor Tutorial : Managing National Team (FMM 2018)

1. Load the nation.dat file in "Android>data>com.sigames.fmm18>files>installed>database". Search for your nation name in terms of text string/ASCII. The code 4 digits ahead the nation is your nationality code. Note it down. I will take Germany as example, 9100 is the nationality code.

*Note : If you are trying to search for Germany, make sure it's Germany instead of West Germany or East Germany.*

1.thumb.png.a09639c6c03849bffc367825519cd01b.png

2. Load your save file under "Documents>Sports Interactive>normal>games“. Search for "ae00b207+nationality code" in terms of Hex. The code 18 digits ahead of "ae00b207" is your manager code. Note it down. Mine will be 5353 as shown below.

2.thumb.png.b766a87a2204164e73361967bd95b0e3.png

3. Search for the national team you wished to manage in terms of text string. The code 10 digits ahead will be the national team code. Note it down. B001 is the code for Germany team as shown below.

3.thumb.png.44686d58462982a22782142cca3c9414.png

4. Changed the national team manager code to your manager code. It is 45 digits below the national team name. I changed that to my manager code which is 5353.

3.thumb.png.82be01475d9f3922a1ac52552ef08cfb.png

5. Change your national team. Go back to your code "ae00b207+nationality code". Change the code 2 digits behind to the national team code. I changed it to Germany national team code as shown below.

4.thumb.png.db42f0521f01b17f0245d853344f21d3.png

6. Search for the original manager's UID on www.sortitoutsi.net. Convert it to Hex digits using any Hexadecimal translator. In this example, Joachim Low's UID is 127347, which converted to Hex is 73f10100. Search this in terms of Hex, change the code 20 digits below to ffff. That will remove him from the team.

7. Save and enjoy!

It didn't work. I can't release him, even after creating another save.

Also, the change.txt fileI used in this year's download section have another problem related to this: it has a line to release Patrice Evra on a free transfer. Nothing happens at first, but after I quit the game and load that save again, some other Marseille players got released instead. Keep doing that, and then there's no one left in the Marseille.

There is something different about the change.txt this year, so I don't think release anyone using it would be a good idea :'(

It worked for me. 10 values ahead of the club's name (in my case is Augsburg) is indeed the club's ID.

Untitled1.thumb.png.02997acd1bbb45ef85aff6e2f3232006.png

(FC 03 is the club's ID, and E2 66 is my ID. The E2 66 00 00 part was actually FF FF FF FF if the club has no manager)

The club's ID near the AE 00 B2 07 (Nationality code) part is 15 values after itUntitled2.thumb.png.84575528b0b3c4a510f96320ea508f94.png

(5A 00 is my nationality code)

E2 66 is good enough, 00 00 after that is not important

Which hex translator do you use for step 7? It isn't working for me

Just google "dec to hex". Any site will do.

It looks like the old hex editing method doesn't work anymore with the new update. But the method from one year earlier works though. So instead of ae 00 b2 07 (national code), we use the same old ff ff 00 00 b2 07 (national code).

While using the hex editor in your save file, I found out one thing: you can also use the hex editor to change how good your training facility and youth facility are. Just edit the two values that is 12 values behind the team's short names to 14 14, and you will have "State of the art" training facility and "Top" youth facility without requesting your board.

In the image, the aforementioned values are 0e and 0f, which means the team (Kaiserslautern) has "Impressive" training facility and "Great" youth facility, respectively. These values are 12 values behind the last letter of the team's short name. Replacing them with 14, and you will see the result. This can be applied to any club teams in your save file.

Also, I found out how to edit your team's reputation. First, find the two values that is 31 values behind the team's short name, like in the reply above (It's also right next to the club manager's ID, mine is CA 68). Then reverse the two values' order (for example, Freiburg's reputation is 8B 1C in the save file, reverse it to 1C 8B, the convert to decimal, then you will have 7303, which is the team's reputation). If you want to edit it, find a number you want (ranging from 0 to 10000, I will choose 10000 for example), convert it to hex and reverse it (10000 is 27 10 in hex, swap it to 10 27), then replace your team's repuation with the values you have found (in my case, replace 8B 1C with 10 27).

Note that 10000 is the maximum limit of a club's reputaion, anything further will likely crash the game.
