Career Taff Attempts The Uk Challenge

OK guys I'm back attempting yet another Challenge this one brought to you curtosey of the man himself @BatiGoal

Here's a link to the OP

So the aim to break the four home nations top league goal records

We start in Northern Ireland 

And with limited knowledge I chose a team who has helped me in the past when looking for cheap but reliable players

The mighty Cliftonville FC

 

To be fair I'm sure a number of people who attempt this challenge will end up using this team and more than likely the same star striker 

I present Daniel Hughes the Only real option for me during my time in N.I. good shooting and some decent pace here is the man I (hope) will break the Northern Irish top flight goal scoring record which stands at a whopping 27

So with my team and player in place we begin our season

We began the season with a second round ECC qualifying game against Domzle which we quickly lost 3-0 leaving us the wrong side of a 4-3 agg score

But once the Danske Bank Premier league began Hughes got off to a flyer

4 goals in the opening game and I thought I was on to a winner

He wasn't the most consistent of strikers missing in the next two games then scoring a hat-trick I wasn't sure my blood pressure could take it but we progressed through the season and come late January he had matched the record 

27 goals in 31 games is nothing to be sniffed at and then came the glorious moment when he broke the record 

Almost 22 minutes into our next game Hughes scores the all important 28th domestic goal of the season, and there was still plenty of the season left to bag more, 

Here's how he looked at the end of the season

Some improvement in his stats with his Shooting and pace moving up but also his movement which helps a lot when your a lone striker

So how did he do on the goal front well......

Hughes finished with a very respectable 42 domestic goals in 46 games which is good enough for me, he missed a few games with International call ups and then rested when he got back but he managed to beat the record by 15 goals so well done Mr. Hughes

 

As for the League and the 4 (that's right 4) cup competitions we fared well 

Cliftonville end the season as Champions of Northern Ireland with a very healthy 18 point gap 

As for the cups we managed a good 50/50 ratio

We were knocked out of the Co. Antrim Shield after a penalty shootout 

Then lost in the first round of the Mid Ulster Cup

But we did manage some success

We lift the League Cup thanks to a good 3-0 win (all three goals coming in Extra Time but still)

And we get our hands on the Irish Cup thanks to a 2-0 win (this time we manage to win in the 90 minutes)

So a very decent season 1 league win and two cups

The team grabs a few end of Season Awards as well

Hughes claims the DBP POTY, my young IF Donnelly claims the YPOTY and I clinch the MOTY

So that ends my time in Northern Ireland and now it's time to go job hunting in Scotland

Can't say how much I'm looking forward to seeing your name on that leaderboard. Scotland should be doable with the right club and player but Wales and then England could be a bumpy ride if you're unlucky enough to hit a bad spell.

This is crazy cause I chose the exact same player and team and am posting later  well done mate, I've struggled to get a job in Scotland after 2 years of trying so hopefully you do better!

I too am looking forward to seeing my name in the Number 1 spot (until the next person posts results lol)

Yeah I think Scotland will be OK but dreading Wales and England although I'm hoping to have a solid tactic in place by then

Cheers dude, when he hit 4 in the opening game I thought I was away, he was a bit hit and miss but managed it so onto Scotland (eventually)

I'm already up to the December in the 1st year and no jobs (the Celtic one was V. Insecure at one point and I thought my luck was in but they turned it around

Sorry dude i missed your comment earlier in all the confusion with the OP

I have started a new game and will post that ASAP 

and no i didn't set him as the PA just a sole attacker in a 41221 formation i've been using
