Career Mcandrew003 Attempts The Uk Challenge

Welcome all

If you don't know what this challenge is then check out @BatiGoal's thread

Anyway...

Our chosen team for the first part of this challenge is...

IMG_4684.thumb.JPG.ddeafb48adfad38ce3a4b770725f1dac.JPG

Yes, Cliftonville is the team we choose to start with, the same as another participant of this challenge @Taff, make sure to check that thread to.

Anyway, the player we choose to break the 27 goal deadlock is...........IMG_4620.thumb.PNG.208ff9c85cee8d86c7207d9cfd16e9f0.PNG

Yes, potentially the best striker in the league, Danny Hughes will start our story. An absolutely fantastic Striker who won't let us down!!

Tactics

I thought it would be better to include this part first so it is understood what i used to do what I did.

Despite this, I was stupid and forgot to take screenshots of the tactic, so I will include it here in writing.

The formation I went with for this segment of the challenge was a 4-3-2-1, with each role being key.

Roles:

GK

FB

CD

CD

FB

BBM

AP

BWM

W

W

AF

I spent a while tinkering with this tactic, but found it does depend on Player performance more than it clicking after a while. What I mean is that if 2 or 3 of my players didn't perform in a game, we might have lost or Hughes wouldn't have scored, which we experienced later on in the match.

The AP was an important position for our team. We signed Liam Agnew from The English Lower leagues and he worked wonders, and his role was key for us. Practically, he pressed higher than the other two midfielders and often won the ball back high up the pitch, which meant he played Hughes through on goal and he scored often from these positions. Agnew also was a extreme driving force in our creative play, securing a good number of assists. He would often send many key passes around the pitch, something shown in this match below

IMG_4623.thumb.PNG.ebfcdf5b1f405b46d96e047eda4adf48.PNGAs you can see, Agnew sent NINE key passes, NINE! That may be the most I've had before, and it led to 2 Hughes goals on this match. Anywho, Our wingers were equally important, securing over 12 assists between them this season. In our Instructions, we played a Balanced mentality with a Direct passing style, which meant Hughes was sent straight through on Goal.

Trophies

Below is a list of our Succeses for the season, as you can see we won 5 of the domestic trophies for the season, something I think was a good achievement for us.IMG_4636.thumb.PNG.2a559780241ba7253f25d4ea563cf699.PNGIMG_4650.thumb.PNG.6482860f9ea73177d7997a7b0227f171.PNG

IMG_4660.thumb.PNG.af26fecbbeceb985ed0f94f3c16024bb.PNG

So overall a very successful season, but we haven't even seen the best part yet...IMG_4654.thumb.PNG.73aaf0ff68acb70738cd4b7e1ad07b2f.PNG

Super Danny Hughes.

An absolute superstar. Some call him the Nothern Irish Messi (in my imagination anyway:D) Hughesy, as I referred to him for most of the season, was in tremendous form all season round, and a large number of early braces and hat-tricks put us past the record with reasonable ease.

Danny Doubles!

IMG_4622.thumb.PNG.9cd453c28f607084125bb575d8d40837.PNG

IMG_4624.thumb.PNG.88641123bf85124d185efa7a7339f18b.PNGIMG_4625.thumb.PNG.b38f48fce8ca86e39685cc1a2edace8d.PNGIMG_4626.thumb.PNG.2fbf4721bda72d83765f1a7f556ae448.PNGIMG_4628.thumb.PNG.0abea2bf0a13f6f148f5e4624712651e.PNGIMG_4629.thumb.PNG.bdf13f2fa9ac64540a8d25814f8985de.PNGIMG_4630.thumb.PNG.42339ea1c01677cbf8fce9b6a0feb533.PNGIMG_4643.thumb.PNG.cb501855b8728c0826e5e4ecb3a0e9f4.PNGIMG_4645.thumb.PNG.98598a59092c451e963ecd5cfaea9e30.PNGIMG_4659.thumb.PNG.195a3e19236d318eb7abdcfb11d8bbd7.PNG

So quite a few braces from the prolific Hughes, and this tactic really did give him a lot of chances to score, meaning that Danny Hughes grand total is........

IMG_4661.thumb.PNG.0a34f7331f5c887499c020091fbff3af.PNG

48 GOALS (and 6 assists!) That may be the best total for a single player I've had in a while. The new tactic worked a charm and the players I brought in with the money given meant it was a perfect season! This means we comfortabely exceed the first stage of the challenge and can move onto the next stage over in Scotland!

Stats and Figures:

Goals:

Comfotable League campaign for Hughes, scoring 32 league goals!IMG_4656.thumb.PNG.adae65d1aa17f40f4210cfc17d813c10.PNG

Assists

IMG_4658.thumb.PNG.87b2babab0ec55c65ecd6a7ef9f9a1ab.PNG

As you can see 18 combined assists from our 2 Midfield players, meaning chances were galore!

Awards:

League

IMG_4667.thumb.PNG.e21a401a333d1b1b5d93d14165142b52.PNG

Hughes and Me picking up awards from the league campaign, leaving a fresh memory of Nothern Ireland in my head as we hit the road for Scotland !!

Trophys

IMG_4662.thumb.PNG.b2ea9e21f7c32119d48d05b1e8869149.PNG

A fair few!!

In conclusion...

We surpass the first step of the challenge, but another 3 await us! Can we conquer the UK?!

Thanks for reading and stay tuned!

Cheers mate, not doing to bad yourself!

Yeah Scotland is a tricky one, I'm now in late 2019 and still haven't been offered anything despite winning 5 trophies and a manager of the year! It's kind of annoying but you can only hope!

The really annoying thing is how many top EPL jobs have come up

City, Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal Although I think if I can't land a job in Scotland no chance of taking over at City

That sucks. I don't remember it being that hard when I created this challenge 2 years ago. Apparently going from N.Ireland to Scotland isn't what it used to be. If it proves impossible for everyone I may need to re-write the rules. Hmm.

Update 2

The UK Challenge

Welcome all to part 2 of the UK challenge, it will actually remain on this thread as it's easier.

After failing to land a job in Scotland, I returned to Nothern Ireland hoping to build my profile to a high enough standard. This season was more about experimenting for me instead of goal scoring, as I already had 48 goals locked in.

Team

IMG_4765.JPG.22e6f3ba0c217ca83f96b1d4c5b94c3b.JPG

Ards Fc

This team start the game in the Northern Irish top division, but I take over them as a newly promoted team with about 6 players!

The Striker

I chose a really rubbish lad this season as I had no other options, and the overall quality of the team was generally awful, so I really struggled to get goals with him!

IMG_4688.thumb.PNG.c888f140558f3f8b55b9f1c9c27a7058.PNG

Signed for about 5k, his stats rapidly decreased at the start of the season and he scored 2 goals in 15 games at one point. However, it got marginally better for us later on in the season.

Pretty much the same formation as last season, I did test a few more but this seemed to work the best for us. I went over it in a bit more detail in the last update, but I will still show you how it worked this year

My squad wasn't as good as the Cliftonville squad I built, so I had to make do with it, but Hawkins in the AP role did a similar job to Agnew did in the last update, but with slightly less affect.

IMG_4698.thumb.PNG.897f98d2e10f5e4feaee3b7a1ca39836.PNG

As you can see here, Jones was the primary creator and sent 7 key passes, which was impressive. McMenamin had 3 shots, but couldn't score. If that was Hughes, it's a hat-trick!

IMG_4723.thumb.PNG.2329661dc885d113cd82dbc945bdfd40.PNG

Another example we're passes were coming from all over the midfield and yet in 6 shots he couldn't bury 1!

McMenamin  Moments

IMG_4747.thumb.PNG.5c44ab62d6fb228ff5576aebb187bbfb.PNG

IMG_4724.thumb.PNG.e8afcc077869d7703ac644382d3c8ac7.PNGIMG_4726.thumb.PNG.d7ce4fe58e8f5faf92e808156f8d9abd.PNG

Only 3 screenshots as he was fairly bad at finishing as you have probably gathered!

Competitions

We only managed to win 1 trophy this season, but as a newly promoted side I think that's ok!

IMG_4742.thumb.PNG.ac92f88ae5b94d023d44740e911a9668.PNG

Delighted with this over my old club, Back up Striker getting 2 as McMenamin was suspended'

IMG_4745.thumb.PNG.5e6a4d241edeec62e29139a12f50c0db.PNG

Would have liked to get further but penalties got us in the end!

IMG_4744.thumb.PNG.c05d47afa61a9a2a73aa26d9934ff0da.PNG

Gutted with this one as we needed another trophy, but couldn't get there in the end.

IMG_4746.thumb.PNG.cce2907d64593fc231773a0070709b2b.PNG

League Campaign

The expectation was to battle bravely against relegation, but we stood strong and halfway through the season we were battling it out with Cliftonville for the title! However, our form dropped off and we eventually finished in 4th.IMG_4754.thumb.PNG.38040337bdf7332d8e86f23b380c56d1.PNG

Top Scorers

IMG_4750.thumb.PNG.944f69edb01074d7d6517bf4dccfc58f.PNG

McMenamin getting 16 in the league, which is more than I expected halfway through the season! If we look down the list, Hughes sits in 9th with just 10 goals!

Assists

IMG_4751.thumb.PNG.c869bbcad908667d6dd7d06eb184aad0.PNG

7 assists from our winger Hughes and several more from other players throughout the season!

McMenamin total

18! Absoloutley terrible to be fair, and I am definately going for a new striker next season!

Manager Profile

IMG_4755.thumb.PNG.45022c7c592aab8952b53bc462f1987e.PNGReputation is up to Regional! Hopefully this gets better next season and I can move on to Scotland!

Trophy Cabinet

IMG_4756.thumb.PNG.c41849f2001bab0bc834bc6140e9f54b.PNG

A respectible return of trophies, and 2 manager of the year awards so far!

Stage 2

Sadly after simulating forward until August I still cannot land a job in Scotland, so I must succeed in Nothern Ireland this season or the challenge could be under threat of not being completed!

Thanks for reading and stay tuned for a part three!

Also, I do recommend this challenge to anybody looking for a goal scoring challenge, very fun and not easy!

Thanks and see you next time!

Pls make sure you don't simulate during regular seasons or those goals/records won't count for obvious reasons. Also, you don't get manager pts if you do so it's not great for your reputation.

Looks like N.Ireland is going to be your home for a while :)

Update 3

Hello all and welcome to update 3 of the UK Challenge, or my attempt at it anyway. So, this season I remained at Ards looking to build on my poor squad to try and find a prolific goal scorer and build my reputation up for a trip to Scotland! Lets begin then shall we...

The Striker

IMG_4768.thumb.PNG.e6463b204ee91b27a2958bf57ef5fc8d.PNG

David McDaid

As you can see, a lot better than last seasons Striker, I had this lad at Cliftonville at the start of my attempt at this challenge. Cost us around 35k and now he returns for a second round. Some fantastic stats and hopefully he leads us to glory, but could he break the record?

The Tactic

After some experimenting with a few tactics I have found a new one that works absolute wonders! IMG_4813.thumb.PNG.b95d674a7bc08a01f5c8abdcc93cee2f.PNG

IMG_4814.thumb.PNG.4f1d7ccb0ed611739d5788347e50560c.PNG

IMG_4815.thumb.PNG.fa0b16bc50815d3fff75c5818bfe590c.PNG

I found it was better to crowd the Striker than leave him isolated up front, so this formation gave him a lot of chances. In Midfield, with the DLP just sitting with the BWM, it gave my BBM the license to attack, which added another body to attacks and eventually caused goals. I switched to this tactic after around 7 games and at that point McDaid had 2 goals, but did he improve?

Tactical Domination

IMG_4775.thumb.PNG.3d1456090345d58200e64331d763bd8e.PNG

This is a great example of my tactic. As you can see, my BBM sending 8 key passes through and getting 4 Assists, as well as McDaid getting 3 goals and having 7 shots. McDaid was very clinical, we just needed the right system to suit him.

Competitions

Really dissapointing in competitions terms this year, none won, and we lost to some really poor opposition, and this has made it tough to get to Scotland.

IMG_4784.thumb.PNG.f840890038b0664848fbb5639b9d8c2b.PNGIMG_4781.thumb.PNG.8a58d3c3728b609e4cf727e1f8e22433.PNG

IMG_4797.thumb.PNG.4da8b0aa69a05edcf0ea472a30d72db3.PNG

IMG_4794.thumb.PNG.a3b27a05a36fb6fc0112f66384e9a228.PNGReally annoying this year, but it's not all bad...

McDaid Magic!

IMG_4774.thumb.PNG.45b12782d77efde863aabb23f0aa11ba.PNGIMG_4781.thumb.PNG.2277c13a7f750050f63274eccad9ca1c.PNGIMG_4789.thumb.PNG.3cd18fa005f8f244875c53744fad3c1b.PNGIMG_4791.thumb.PNG.04dca6b800760133f1c3e1bb5604efc3.PNG

I think there were more, but screenshots wouldn't load!

League Campaign.

Another relegation battle was on the cards for us this season, and with the lack of players I managed to bring in, o thought we would struggle this year too. However, it was quite the opposite...

IMG_4810.thumb.PNG.680584a8dc1f99c5c2d690de12ef0d9e.PNG

WE WON THE LEAGUE!!!

Fantastic achievement for a club relegation threatened to win the division, that rings a bell somewhere.... oh well, a great start propelled us up the table and we fought it out until the end !

Top Scorers

IMG_4811.thumb.PNG.c36570762d6c5183b23d0a1f07abd684.PNG

Just a hint, McDaid got 32 in the league which I thought was brilliant, and quite comfortably won the Northern Irish golden boot ( if that's even a thing!)

Top Assists

IMG_4812.thumb.PNG.45164c951e6097bddce4d9288f5f8f1d.PNG

As you can see, so many assists for a lot of players on the screen, a tremendous season for these players and it lead McDaid to a good overall total. My Two Central midfielders and my two wingers on the list shows how many assists we're going around.

McDaid

He was the Second best striker I have managed on this challenge so far...

IMG_4808.thumb.PNG.4ab10aac3132da1fa4144d27cf323fb8.PNG

IMG_4809.thumb.PNG.794f7e013fe00f834e4c37e277d21277.PNG

And he achieves the second best total! I am personally pretty happy with 38 and it shows with a few tweaks this tactic could be brilliant, and maybe I could use it elsewhere, you never know!

Manager Profile

IMG_4822.thumb.PNG.83271cf87343eef2e276559bb89a1323.PNG

Dissapointingly, my rep is still on Regional so it will be hard to get to Scotland!

Trophy Cabinet

IMG_4818.thumb.PNG.1c3f7fe7bc22d8eceb31c6e77178700a.PNGIMG_4819.thumb.PNG.fed855a13711152f8eb13bb10c18bf19.PNG

Not a bad amount, and now Three manager of the year awards!

Full fixtures list

IMG_4803.thumb.PNG.9b2a85890d21ea4965f1448504670323.PNGIMG_4804.thumb.PNG.e8ef2b5c22fff9b8a2c057c8c1a5a125.PNGIMG_4805.thumb.PNG.b30fe46c09bcbc0d980a4ce560b6d876.PNGIMG_4806.thumb.PNG.cdadf4c0ffb0ce61064352d6ba5f5ac8.PNGIMG_4807.thumb.PNG.38960fbe7be6db98eb4b2cf1e467ee1d.PNG

Well. That concludes this update, and for the future, I'm unsure as Scotland still don't want me and the year is 2021, so really don't know how much further I can go before regents really start dominating. If I decide to carry on, it will be posted here, if I don't, I will almost certainly tempt this later on this year, maybe even in a few weeks, I'm not sure yet. Anyway, thanks for reading and any feedback is appreciated
