Hello all and welcome to this thread!

This will be my main save as my UK challenge is currently on pause, but we could complete that here?

At first, I will attempt lesser played challenges before hopefully moving onto some bigger ones, potentially even a 1kc! But not for sure yet 

This is my first challenge, the Tour De France Challenge by BatiGoal! 

I decided to do separate threads instead of one big one, as it is easier then!

Hello all and welcome to Challenge 1 Part 1! With the hint I threw in at the top, some of you may have guessed the challenge, but if not, I am attempting...

Le Tour De France 2017!

 A great challenge from the man @BatiGoal himself!

So for my main task, I must find an unknown Gem.... Well, time to go shopping!!

But first, my club...

A squad with a good balance of Experience and Youth, this is the perfect squad to begin with.

The Player....

Hands up if you've heard of this Guy.... I don't suspect many hands! Picked him up for 2.7 million, he turns into a beast for the rest of the season. (To get into full swing for the challenge I think I need to refer to him as my 'Rider' from now!) With some decent creatives stats at 20 this could turn out alright!

Tactics

Going into the season, I thought I needed something where he is in the heart of everything, so I tried a few things, made a few tweaks, and came out with a very simple...

Quite a standard formation really, nothing particularly special or intriguing but there we go. Throughout the season, I fiddled with having primary outlet on and off, and different passing styles. Owusu was actually fairly well tailored to the role, and despite being a AML, he was fine here.

First Proffesional Game...

Our first game of the season, a German Cup fixture, ended like this...

Not a bad start to proceedings is it? 4 goals and 3 assists set Owusu up nicely for the season, as well as a hat-trick from both Di Santo and Choupo-Moting. One thing that worried me from this however is that Owusu had 8 shots, but no key passes, so I had to work on this throughout the season.

The only other player apart from Owusu to come into the club this season was Tino Susic, who was midfield cover for Goretzka and Geis. He could also play both AMC and AMR, so he added versatility and another option to our Defender ridden squad

Nothing to report here, anybody I did offer out stayed.

Competitions...

We reached the finals of both the German Cup Final and the Europa League final! However...

WE LOST BOTH!!! I couldn't believe it, I was distraught after this, but I could only keep moving.

I think this year we ought to be called the leagues 'nearly men', and this didn't help!

NOT AGAIN!! Yes we finished second, but i am actually happy with that, and maybe we can push on next season, if we're still here, that is...

Top Goalscorers

Di Santo up there with 16, but nothing compared to Lewandowski's 28!

Top Assists

Owusu up there with 14 League assists, which wasnt great but it's overall what counted!

Sidenote:

Yea, and you know how we lost to Mainz, well...

THEY WERE RELEGATED, I NEARLY CRIED!

The Main Man.

Sammy Owusu.

I think for half the season I was saying his name wrong, even tho it's not that hard! Anyway, how did he develop, and what did he do?

Awards

He got a player of the month, as well as YPOTY! Great achievement!

Player Growth

I think his stats were better than this, but still a great improvement and can even go further with his development! Fantastic Dribbling and Technique, and good passing, this could be crucial for stage 2 and 3!

Other

Relationship

Im his favourite person! He even added me on Facebook, which I found flattering!

International Presence 

Owusu gets an International assist, does that count to my tally? I guess you have to see it first!

Injuries

Owusu only missed about a month and a half through injury, and it could have been worse, for example, Nastasic was out for 4 Months!

Assist Tally

So has my rider achieved his required points in the team trials...?

For the First season, NO! I was heartbroken as he missed out by one, and that was just heartbreaking! However, I couldn't post without finishing stage 1, could i? So one game into Season 2 and he breaks the record! A punch to the air was all the celebration required from myself. A sweet 15 goals also shows his goal scoring touch, which will be needed at some point!

So, Stage 1 is complete and we move on to Stage 2, but with Regional Rep I think I may remain for a few more games

Great start! Bummer perhaps you came 1 assist short in season 1 as it would've given you more time to find a N.French club. I'm a little concerned about his price tag tho as not many teams from the north are able to afford him. And the longer it takes you to get to stage 2 the more success Owusu has in Germany and up goes his value and demands. I hope for you he doesn't see a move from Schalke to stage 2 as a step backwards in his career.

Thanks mate, yeah I was thinking about his price tag, and I though if I transfer list him as I leave, he may come as I'm his favourite person, or if I drop him for a few more games, but we'll see! I kinda want Lille as they have the biggest budget but I'll take what I can get! @BatiGoal

Update 2 (Kind Of)

This will just be a brief update on season 2 and 3 with Gelsenkirchen

League

 

Poor Season, finishing 4th

Top Scorers 

Di Santo finishes second again, this time slightly closer to Lewandowski

Top Assists

Owusu finishes with just 9 in the league this time, but for good reason 

Cups

In a very close encounter, we win our first piece of silverware with a penalty win over BMG

Unfotunately we couldn't overcome the resilient Madrid, and we fall to a Ramos free kick.

Owusu

Owusu was dropped a few times this season as I wanted to lower his value, and it kinda worked, as he went from 16 million to 9.75 million!

Not as impressive, but he still ends on 19 which is fairly impressive!

Overall...

Sorry for the short update, I just wanted to get something out!

I'm having trouble getting to Northern France despite National Rep, but hopefully by season 4 I'm there!

Update 3

Hello all and welcome to update three of this challenge.

So, before revealing our big surprise, I will go over what happened in our last season with Gelsenkirchen

League

We secured a second place finish in the league, still finishing a fair way away from Bayern

Cup Competitions

Florin Andone scores in literally the last minute to secure us this trophy, a good game all in all

Champions League

A fairly straightforward win in the final, this took our Rep to Continental, and I resigned afterwards...

 

France

I landed on the terminal in France with a good feeling in my head. Germany had made my interest grow stale, but now I am ready to go again!

My club

As you saw in the spoiler, I was in the running for the Lille job, and well...

We secure the job, FINALLY! After three years of waiting we get to stage 2, but it wasn't all great. In fact, Lille were below 14th (can't remember exact position) when I arrived, meaning a lot of building was to be done!

January Transfer Window

In this window, I launched about 8 bids for Owusu, and although they were accepted, he didn't want to come! However, I managed to secure 2 transfers

How he was a free transfer was incredible, fantastic stats and he carried us for the rest of the season.

Brought in for just 1.6 million, he developed fantastically!

Fixtures

These fixture lists start from when I took over, as you can see we started poorly!

But ended fairly well!

League

I think we did fairly well to come 8th, and hopefully we can do better with a squad overhaul in the summer!

Coupe De La Ligue

Very close final, but we managed to win!

This is how he looked for Gelsenkirchen for the season...

Fantastic Stats, but he doesn't want to join! I think if he doesn't join in the summer then I have failed the challenge as I don't want to wait another year or so to get him!

Overall,

I will overhaul the squad, and hopefully there will be a part 4!

If not I have another challenge in mind so that will be up, but that will wait until I finish this!

Yeah with the Caps Lock thing I don't know what happened cause I was writing something on here and I saw it, so I tried to change it back to lower case but then it automatically went back to Caps, so sorry about that!

Also with the Spoilers, I will try to use them a bit more as I see other people do, just didn't know where to find them, but they will be used next update
