Chat Why I Stop Playing Once The Original Players Retire

I'm sure I'm not the only one, but evogens/regens are just too unrealistic in my eyes and have always been in FMM/FMH. Defenders with 20 technique but 7 tackling, players with 3 stamina, youth players with 20 strength and pace but 1 stamina etc. I find it hard to find well rounded players with realistic stats once the real players retire and lose all interest once CB's called 'Fernandez Fernandez' with insanely high technique and pace, yet single digit teamwork, stamina, aggression etc. start to appear.

It's interesting. I went 22 seasons with my 1KC and in the middle it was awash with great players, but the last 5 years or so there was a dip in really good players available. It must be hard for them to make this balanced and realistic. Anyway, I get what you mean ad I prefer the game in the early seasons too when it's all real players...

It's pretty much a dice roll, sometimes players come out very reasonable. I like players very specialised in their positions. Sometimes it's even as crazy as a defender green only on physicals, aerial, tackling, positioning, decision and movement, then average aggression and single digit on everything else.

The early game with real players is interesting, but only for your first few saves. If you don't put restrictions on yourself, every save is the same, sometimes even across editions. I don't put restrictions on my long term saves, so it always starts out exactly the same, but the beauty starts to come in with regens unique to your save. I've had saves in the past that I've enjoyed solely because of a small handful of regens I loved. It also helped that they had nice catchy names. The key for me was never knowing whose regens they are. Nothing thrills me more than an excellent English keeper popping out when Hart and Butland are still around or a Spanish midfielder popping up at Watford.

In fact, I always end up selling the obvious regens like Zlatan, Yaya Toure, Buffon etc, they just don't bring that level of enjoyment in uncertainty. I don't even think of them by their names, it's just "XXX's regen".
