Chat 30 Seasons With One Player

Having just completed an amazing 22 seasons with Andre silva, during which time he racked up a total of 867 goals for club and 183 goals for country under my management. Before eventually retiring at 42, it got me thinking has anyone ever played a full 30 seasons with one player if this is possible and what's the oldest you've managed to persuade someone to carry on And if so how did they do?

Looks good stat wise at 42. I'm assuming a goalkeeper would be a much greater candidate for a 30 year long player career? Maybe a defender. I've got a good 20+ year with an early regen defender in FMM 16, but he only served as backup for his latter years due to 2 almost back to back hamstring injuries at 35. He was without a doubt world class before then, but certainly fell short since his injuries.

How long players seem to last seems to have been changed this year, or in the original release at least. In past games hitting late 30's didn't happen too often never mind getting into their 40's etc. Doesn't the game have someone in their 50's at the start the game? It's ringing a bell anyway.

I think there are a couple in their 50s. And a couple in their late 40s too. Player managers mostly.

That's like unheard of from previous games haha. Think oldest we've had in earlier versions was Tomi Morgan who was a one off.

Yeah I think a goalkeeper would definitely have the best chance of making it through, think the youngest player on game be 15 I think so that would Take you to age 45.

Yeah he's at estudiantes mate, pretty sure he's the president there but recently signed back up as a player. He still got it don't he even at 41.

I knew he was playing again but I rarely get excited about older players as they never used to make the game haha. 

I hate players added simply for regen fodder as I don't like regens so I'd rather real kids instead, however players like this and of this calibre/history are so cool to have on the game.

Totally agree with you one the regen subject I regularly don't buy any for 10 years plus as they ruin the game at times for me. But yeah great to see Veron on this update and will definitely try him out soon.

Hey that's a great career! Did you write it up (I'm so far behind on threads it's not funny, so I might have missed it)? Armstrong made it 42 in my 1KC career, but he wasn't looking that good in the end. Anyway, that's super impressive.

I just started a new save with just France loaded and the oldest player in there is a 44 year old GK. I did see a screenshot once of someone in their 50s (maybe 54) but I think it might have been a bug thread. Anyway, I sort of think it would be pretty hard to go the full 30 years...

Must have been a great career @Mikee1984 fantastic. 180+ ITN goals and 1000+ in total. Some achievement. Would've loved to follow that journey. I know it's time-consuming to post careers but the comments make it worth it. 

My longest career with a player is 22 seasons as well btw, 17-39yo.

I think this might be doable if you manage to follow him down tiers at the right times. As long as you can give him enough playing time, this might be doable. Very risky of course.

Thanks guys , and in answer to your question I didn't write it up, although I have a lot of screenshots throughout his career. Why didn't I write up you ask well tbh It started  out only as testing for a 1kc as I've had literally hundreds of attempts and never got going with anyone. Thinking of doing another 1kc very soon but definitely want to share the journey with you guys this time. With regards to the 30 years maybe you could squeeze through with a 15 year old but it's still a longshot.

Yes that would definitely help prolong his career mate, taking him down to the lower leagues maybe that 30 years could be achievable.
