Maybe challenge creators should do a test run first to make sure their ideas are actually possible in game.........

Haha, obviously messing! On paper this challenge should have been fine but damn SI and their crazy hidden baffling details lol.

What are you defending Taff for???

As I've said it worked fine in FMH15 but reposting to present times I didn't expect any issues. Still nothing these amazing Vibers can't handle :D

I'm actually loving it but thanks to @BatiGoal for being flexible with the original rules

i think this challenge might have died if the original rules were applied

I played my part in that :P

I think it's obvious you've enjoyed as this is your third run haha. Massive credit for that tbf, not sure I could have stuck at it.

Taff is ace ;)

Haha, we've all done it. I used to always test new challenges (mainly because I created them to play) but that soon stopped, now most new challenges I post are cool ideas I CBA to play so I just share them lol. Never waste an idea, a concept, workings out or anything as someone will always find enjoyment in it :)

I don't know what's going on but this is getting scary

101 goals with 13 left to play and this is a newly promoted team.  And the tactic is nothing special

looks like I'll be topping the EPL with Tranmere next season :D

It's mixed nicely between the ADF, AP and both IFS but the midfield and defence chip in here and there as well

Ok a bit of a dilemma guys and would appreciate some input

the save is going incredibly well, but the challenge part is still out of reach as I've not been able to afford to bring in a striker to get the goals I need

so here's my dilemma do I stick things out with Tranmere and hope a decent first season in the EPL gets me the funds I need to bring in said striker

Or do I jump ship to the vacant Man U job as they have both Rashford and Gabriel Jesus in the squad already and are ideal to complete this challenge

heres how Tranmere are doing at the moment

IMG_2412.thumb.PNG.a6f0c72697bf41b4ce9ecd8f5a46c7b5.PNG

3 in the league at the half way stage

any insight will be valued guys

I would love to stick with Tranmere as I have brought them successive promotions from league 2 to the EPL but the challenge rests on me having a killer season to bring in a player next year to try for the challenge

That's a tough one, on one hand it would be an incredible achievement with tranmere given where they were when you joined! But I would say take the United job cause if you don't you risk bottling the whole challenge purely because of sentimentality lol

They just offered me the job and £73m to play with, but it would be so satisfaing to end this after all the hard work with Tranmere

Tranmere all the way! That would be the flair option. How old are the likes of Rashford and Jesus now?

Both 30 but there isn't a lot of real options left Iska isn't in my database so not sure what to do

I'd definitely jump ship @Taff . It would be a killer if you failed at the final hurdle because you were going for a stylish finish.

Jesus or Rashford should both be capable and you should be able to bring in the best of the rest if they fail. Ben Woodburn is possibly going to be one of the latest decent strikers to be available?

Ok guys I know your right, it's fine I'll take the job.

ive saved the game at the point of the offer so once the challenge is over I must get come back and try with Tranmere

Who knows, once you've inevitably completed it with United, you may just go on to better your score with Tranmere after all ? FMM logic...

Oh I'm screwed I haven't come back to the save yet and I really don't know what to do

If I stay at Tranmere then there's no guarantee that I get a decent league position and a good striker next year

however if I go to Inited then I still have to wait till next season to start anyway

You could wait until the end of the season and see if you can get a decent club rather than United. ;)

Are Man U in any of the cups? The Europa league would be an excellent source of goals and it'll be difficult to get them up t5 this season looking at the league table, 11 points behind Liverpool with 18 games to go, if you're only going to have domestic football next year with Man U then getting 6x goals will be tricky, although definitely not impossible. If Man U are close to the League Cup or FA Cup you could engineer a finish outside the t5 and win a cup to give you a run of easy games?

Well I'm already in the Euro Cup with Tranmere this season after having a huge season winning the FA Cup last year as well as winning the Championship

I think I'll stick it out with Tranmere for this season see what happens in the new season

If I have to wait till next season anyway might as well stick it out

In my haste I realized I never updated my championship season, and I have a newly completed EPL season to share as well so lets crack on and get both seasons up to show you ( I apologise now as there is a lot to catch you up on and this is a very long post)

Season 11

England

So after two incredible years with Tranmere where we have gone from League 2 Minnows to Championship team I was looking to gain a third successive promotion to the promised lands of the EPL.

So as always the first thing we needed was to strengthen the team to be a more competitive unit in the Championship (I wouldn't realise just how competitive until later on)

Here's our transfer dealings

Spoiler

IMG_2388.thumb.PNG.c89cf787e12073ba76e0d3f1a9d7c8a4.PNGIMG_2389.thumb.PNG.d597a2d6e18fe2dcb4295931cbb0ee35.PNG

We went massive this year (as massive as £4M will get you) Iwobi came in as a new starting CD, Hunte and Booth were my new starting CB's, Zuberbuhler was the new heart of my midfield, Klug was my new backup PCR, then Daniel James was a great free agent signing as my LIF, and Henderson came in as my new starting GK, the rest were fillers and backups

IMG_2390.thumb.PNG.62bfd3dadfb95f35b29309567d34e797.PNG

Sold a lot of unhappy players who weren't getting the game time they thought they deserved and I felt bad as some of these guys had helped us to the Championship but I didn't feel they would cut it here in the 2nd flight of the EFL

So the team is reinvigorated and the formation remains unchanged (basic 4231 as seen above)

So we set off to conquer the Championship and get ourselves our third straight promotion and get up to the EPL, and it went so so well

IMG_2379.thumb.PNG.f389460419faec2a322dd15f3f61a38b.PNGIMG_2380.thumb.PNG.d34ba402a93fb9c3001e619d4a5dce34.PNG

We won the league with 7 games remaining and look at those goals 118 goals in 39 league games, and it was surprising to see how many we scored in games against the likes of Nottingham Forest and Aston Villa

IMG_2382.thumb.PNG.2473e68c7f8a2ba14439d4736db4d16c.PNG

We end the season with 130 goals and 28 points clear of Huddersfield in 2nd, what a season form the boys, and it got better, after a fantastic run in the FA Cup that saw us knock out Bristol Rovers, Blackburn Rovers, QPR and then Tottenham (thanks to 2 goals in extra time) we would face Man City in the Semi Finals, the team had done incredibly well and if this was as far as it goes I can't complain.

But the team had other ideas and City didn't know what they got themselves in for

IMG_2381.thumb.PNG.93bc15f66d9b55c659c3760bfc599bda.PNG

HAHAHAHAHAHA 5-1 against City thanks to a hat-trick from my star man Hanford and I couldn't believe it we had made it to the FA Cup Final to face Arsenal and the boys just went out there and played for glory..........

IMG_2384.thumb.PNG.29d742ac0c1a194b4547d77e1622173d.PNGIMG_2383.thumb.PNG.5bfad00ae90b5a77ee36777f6e23aee0.PNG

And they delivered once again "Tranmere Rovers are the FA Cup Champions"

What a season Championship and FA Cup Winners and the last two games have given me incredible confidence going into the Premier League

Here's the team Stats

Spoiler

IMG_2391.thumb.PNG.37668d7ebb45ec92cc5c8436ab4aef5a.PNG

Hanford and James smashing in to the Goals and Klug my little backup striker also did well when asked

IMG_2392.thumb.PNG.40599d411dca661e9058cf78b3d6774a.PNG

James and O'Connor providing the assists from the IF and AM positions

Here's the season fixtures list

Spoiler

And as you'd expect we clean up at the end of season awards

Spoiler

IMG_2385.thumb.PNG.1b39351c780821a7cf7dd795a4199b23.PNG

James clinches the POTY with Hanford in 2nd

IMG_2386.thumb.PNG.4700096138d97e541bef146d43431068.PNG

One of my other free agents Kruse clinching the YPOTY after some stellar performances in the AM role along with O'Connor

IMG_2387.thumb.PNG.f906d46cc873df3608b60a6b619006bf.PNG

And after a third straight promotion I grab the MOTY award for good measure

So Tranmere are now a Premiership team and I can't wait to see how we do

Season 12

England (EPL)

So lets get straight onto the next season and Tranmeres first season in the EPL

This season I was looking to sign a striker to finally get the last stage of this challenge, but there was no one really suitable within my price/wage budget, so the plan was to strengthen the squad and hope for a good season and a better budget next year (or maybe a move to a bigger club)

So we went and hit the transfer market

Spoiler

IMG_2422.thumb.PNG.b9e68f363302f707fdd3a25b71a312c3.PNG

Jean-Christopher Reine-Adelaide was our big by to play opposite James in the IF role, Kempf came in to sure up our defence then Nkunku came in as a very good free agent for the midfield, Callejon and Laurent were brought in as backups incase of injuries

IMG_2423.thumb.PNG.da6bb2b4f308bc915dc4be40f58db9b8.PNG

Only unwanted players going out along with the unused Graduates

So the team up to strength and we began our season with a Community Shield game against Man City

IMG_2401.thumb.PNG.14b66ad6bd1ebe5d1ce5b59c4e6a817c.PNG

Unfortunately they gain some revenge after last seasons hammering by us, but a good close game and I'm still confident about our chances in the upcoming season

Now halfway through the season my resolve was tested beyond it's norm after Manchester United offered me the job out of nowhere, and I had an incredibly difficult decision to make.

IMG_2413.thumb.PNG.a91700476c016a1227021193591c467f.PNG

On the one hand my heart says stick with Tranmere after everything we've gone though it would be a shame not to finish the challenge with them.

On the other hand Man U have greater Finances and already have both Rashford and Gabriel Jesus in the squad, both now 30, but still well capable of getting me what I need to finish this extremely frustrating/rewarding challenge once and for all

Ultimately it came down to decision between my heart and Tranmere or my mind and Man U, and when I thought that which ever way I go I would have to wait until next season to start aiming for the 61 goals I knew the decision was made.

I would stick it out with Tranmere and then come next season If I couldn't bring in a new striker then I would look at moving, a risky gambit especially as those top jobs don't come around every day, but in the end I made my decision and if it comes back to bite me in the arse I'll still be happy with what I decided (probably still happy)

So we cracked on with the season and here's how it went

Now as for the league it went extremely well,

IMG_2416.thumb.PNG.241b9fc814567b615e07a90dba94277d.PNG

3rd place finish in our first season in the top flight, we were in second place going into the last game of the season after some great performances, the league title was out of reach with Chelsea 4 points in front, we would have finished 2nd if not for a 0-2 loss to Bournemouth in the final game, but still very happy with a 3rd place finish and Champions League football next year.

The Cups however not so much (not awful but not brilliant either)

IMG_2404.thumb.PNG.e5313200213a5b5078e817b7dd6db95f.PNG

We're knocked out of the EFL cup in the quarter finals after holding Chelsea to a 1-1 draw over 120 minutes to then lose out on penalties

IMG_2419.thumb.PNG.3d886cc4dd80d9a2d9523dd29da8e649.PNG

We once again found ourselves in the FA Cup final, however this time things didn't go our way as City once again deny us a piece of silverware

We also had a chance to compete in the Euro Cup this year thanks to the teams FA Cup win last season

We were drawn into Group I along side Sporting, AEK and Rangers (not bad company for our first foray into Europe)

IMG_2402.thumb.PNG.71ab94f98911be964e90773fcae69225.PNG

And once again the boys at Tranmere surprised me

IMG_2405.thumb.PNG.cadc619743f9b5c74562f5ee9ec5cc33.PNG

We finish top of the group with 5 wins and a draw, and we proceed through the first 2 knockout round only to have to face Real Madrid in the quarter finals...

IMG_2415.thumb.PNG.8df7e4e403516f4831d773946e6d90e4.PNG

and sadly there would be no miracle win this season, coming back from a 1-3 loss away to beat them 2-1 at home but it just wasn't enough this season

So for our first season in the top flight, not too bad at all

EPL: 3rd

Community Shield: Runner Up

EFL CUP: Quarter Finalists

FA Cup: Finalists

Euro Cup: Quarter Finalists

Here's the team fixtures for the season

Spoiler

A very up and down season, but all in all one very happy manager

Here's the team stats

Spoiler

IMG_2420.thumb.PNG.465d34dabe2601f651819808e1d8c876.PNG

Hanford having a storming season netting 47 goals

IMG_2421.thumb.PNG.f3f3033fab60edd18e131254ad62d7d8.PNG

O'Connor once again keeping the team alive with his assists

Finally some unexpected end of season awards

Spoiler

IMG_2417.thumb.PNG.5c59e152a9b82494ced9e8b1c9dde900.PNG

Hanford and James sharing the honours in the EPL POTY award

IMG_2418.thumb.PNG.9a9e260efda941f877a39f9337bbe149.PNG

And I'm named MOTY thanks to all the hard work I put in

So hopefully next season sees us do one better and maybe clinch the 61 goal record to finally end this challenge

See you on the flip side guys

I tried signing Tammy Abrahams from Chelsea last season, the bid was accepted but couldn't afford his wages, but this season is a different story ;)

Season 13

England (EPL)

So this season was the one, where I hopefully sign one of the few remaining real life strikers available and aim for that 61 goal mark, I tried signing one last year and had the bid accepted but couldn't meet his wage demand, but this year I wanted to try again and lo and behold there were no issues this time, ladies and gentleman i present my chosen striker...

IMG_2431.thumb.PNG.2a9c3bc047b87a7dfbb68e81c59f1a66.PNG

Tammy Abraham who at 30 is still looking good, especially that Aerial (hard to find in most strikers) and his first game went pretty well

IMG_2432.thumb.PNG.61393490e89e86601c39c9a20e21e2f1.PNG

So with Abrahams in for a decent £6M I still had some money to play with so I set out to add some strength to other areas of the team

Spoiler

IMG_2452.thumb.PNG.29a59fc1e436e22f1868b26b7cae6380.PNG

Sebastian Thomas came in as a good strong looking CM, Erazo added some quality to my CD, as a surprise twist while I made the offer for Abraham I also put in an offer for a 31 year old Moussa Dembele and forgot about it and signed him after Abraham had joined (I thought if Abraham doesn't cut it I'll give him a bash), then Mel Harrison came in as a backup CM (unfortunately I must have missed something in his contract as he ended up staying with Blackburn on loan for the season so that was £2.5M well spent) and Zampano came in and took the reigns in goal

IMG_2453.thumb.PNG.42aa61dadf7ea8663289f553d8c1fb91.PNG

My big signing last season wanted a bigger club so when the offer came in I took it and made a decent £6M profit on him, my YPOTY from last season also wanted to leave so "Goodbye Mr. Kruse" and Henderson wasn't happy about being replaced and left for Villa (who then put him on the bench for the season) The rest were just the players who I brought in on my run to the EPL but now had no place in the team

So with Abraham firing well and the squad given a boost we set off in search of those elusive 61 goals.  Lets see how the team did in their competitions this year

League

After a very good 3rd place finish last season, I saw no reason why the team couldn't push further this season

Spoiler

after that opening 5-0 drubbing of Southampton we sat in 1st place from day 1....

IMG_2436.thumb.PNG.9c99b98b92c7c8ee201683a8a598851f.PNG

though to the halfway point....

IMG_2444.thumb.PNG.340c08839938a05e205c4d0e751c2493.PNGIMG_2451.thumb.PNG.53d98af8a446d46d6b8b4609ff4b215d.PNG

AND ALL THE WAY TO THE END "TRANMERE ROVERS HAVE WON THE ENGLISH PREMIER LEAGUE TITLE"

get in boys what a fantastic display from them this season, we never dropped out of 1st place from the 1st day to the last, incredible

EFL Cup

This and the Community Shield are the only domestic trophies I have not won yet with Tranmere, could this be the season we finally knock one off the list...

Spoiler

IMG_2440.thumb.PNG.bf4d8f049e6c7df4a6cb95f9f1c62652.PNGIMG_2438.thumb.PNG.f130cf074fa37e3bdb39fc8137333804.PNG

Why yes it was after a fantastic display in the final against Man City (who are fast becoming our rivals) Tranmere Rovers only have the Community shield left to achieve, maybe next season

FA Cup

So with the league won and the EFL Cup as well could Tranmere go and win their 2nd FA Cup and make it a domestic treble winning season

Spoiler

IMG_2443.thumb.PNG.3c949bea13b4020f66c15e65fe8e1b1f.PNG

Sadly no, we progress all the way to the Semi Finals, but are unable to outscore the red side of Manchester, but still a great run from the boys

Champions League

With the team excellent 3rd place finish last season, we also had the chance to pit ourselves against the cream of the crop in the UCL.

Spoiler

IMG_2433.thumb.PNG.b6fd6c77bd8b31196fdbc3e1f43cc772.PNG

A tough looking group for our first UCL outing

IMG_2434.thumb.PNG.c37ffed8b6f2a23fe937b957053733ab.PNG

But once again the little boys from Tranmere come out on top and progress to the knockout stages, and once again we're drawn against one of the Giants of Europe Bayern

IMG_2441.thumb.PNG.38eb0820ae71d384c97403f880579c45.PNG

But we some how manage to win both legs against the Giants of Germany and move on to the Quarter Finals, where we would face our group mates Valencia

IMG_2442.thumb.PNG.c0068f7fd7c4da4d32165e8d01594b3a.PNG

But a 93rd minute penalty from Abraham sees us through over two legs to go on and face AC Milan in the Semi Finals, the first leg is a cagey affair and ends 0-0, then the second leg

 IMG_2445.thumb.PNG.30f20cf1bf50a548e5ad8e8ff887dac1.PNG

Much more open with a 6 goal thriller, but our journey ends here thanks to the away goals

So a fantastic season for Tranmere

EPL: Winners

EFL Cup: Winners

FA Cup: Semi Finalists

UCL: Semi Finalists

But now onto the main news, how did Abraham get on this season, well he started very well, netting a goal a game and clinching the WPOTY award (not bad for half a seasons work)

IMG_2437.thumb.PNG.f3e236b190df01184b2335a8d551a3a7.PNGIMG_2435.thumb.PNG.b0c280fea0446e7d8e77cf6a75c91927.PNG

but as always the curse of the new year hit and his form dropped, and with the league, EFL, FA and UCL Cups his stamina also started taking a hit

IMG_2447.thumb.PNG.e58ab0bbbbcb998ee36fae085dc6e4d2.PNG

By the end of the year and with one game remaining he needed a further 5 goals, and as good as he is I doubt he'll net 5 in one game...

IMG_2448.thumb.PNG.cb85b86ec83536d3a81becab4cae18ef.PNG

And thanks to a 2 week injury we'll never know.

So he ends the season 5 goals shy and I'm a little disappointed but the team did so well I can't get too downhearted and there's always next season and his stats still look good enough to me

And I clinch my second EPL MOTY award

So a great season for the team but a slight disappointment for Abraham, so onto the next season and possibly our last chance

Season 14

England (EPL)

OK so after Abraham came up a little short last season I was tempted to try someone new, but to be honest there aren't that many left and I didn't want to waste my funds on a new striker when it could be used to improve the quality of the team, so I switched to a 4411 (helped me in my Latin Europe Challenge so thought why not) and brought in some new squad members to help Abraham on his way to that magic 61 goal mark

Spoiler

IMG_2538.thumb.PNG.c99503adf69d9c011b0eecc899c77e63.PNG

So the big three in this season were all new starting players, my defensive duo form Stoke came in (Stokes my new LB and Inglethorpe CD) and Herrera was my new AM, Kieran Thomson and Tomas Sanchez were brought in as left footed Wingers, Merida became my new RB, Valderrama was a backup Winger who could play either side and Ard van Veldhoven became my new starting GK (that's three seasons on the bounce I've replaced my GK, but when there's better options what am I meant to do)

IMG_2539.thumb.PNG.fb56040bcae9bcecc1796de5801744f0.PNG

Yacob (RB) was the big sale (and a lot of unhappy players because of it) but I had two solid options for that position and a lonee so why not get the cash in.  Mirfin and Sheppard moved back down to the Championship where they were better suited, then the unwanted grads were let go (my youth facilities are terrible and the board won't improve them

So with a new tactic and new squad members in place we set off

and the season started incredibly well

This time the Community shield comes our way thanks to Man City's terrible penalty skills

IMG_2468.thumb.PNG.8e21cf357174b437778bd5014b7f290c.PNG

The team went on to win their first 8 games (actually went on a 15 game winning streak in the league) scoring a brilliant 28 goals and Abraham..

IMG_2469.thumb.PNG.2fd4d5eaa43d4f3e3e95766e087fe19a.PNG

Netted 14 of those 28

So the season started well with the Community Shield and a great run of results for the team, at the half way stage of the season the team and Abraham were doing well.

IMG_2472.thumb.PNG.54f26a7b681551e9df20c486f8e41181.PNG

Top of the league with a fantastic 19-0-1 record, and Abraham had netted...

IMG_2473.thumb.PNG.26c923580b89f0b0c5d95306fb123d69.PNG

a huge 38 goals by this point

Now the season went amazing, like beyond my wildest dreams amazing

We won the league for the second year running with 7 games to go

IMG_2526.thumb.PNG.f24227f5f9943aefc91a9d652c3d7a1e.PNG

ending the season with over 100 points and 2 goals shy of the 100 mark

My two star strikers combined late in the game to clinch the FA Cup and the domestic quadruple as well

Europe

Another season and hopefully the team can go that one step closer than last season and reach the final

Spoiler

We progressed through the group stage and once again come out on top against Valencia (again) Dinamo and Fenerbahce

We then made our way through the stages

Knockout round

IMG_2476.thumb.PNG.47d23ae7fe357cfbe9416b5a499bb649.PNG

We see off strong opposition from SLB but a 6-3 aggregate score is more than enough to see us through to the next round

Quarter Finals

IMG_2522.thumb.PNG.8c277b3703c016395ce542892dae4f4f.PNG

For the second year running, we face Valencia in both the group stage and the quarter final and beat them in both

Semi Finals

IMG_2525.thumb.PNG.1670da29f68d86026c7f583a8b193f1e.PNG

Two strong games in the semi sees us beat European Giants Barcelona in the semi finals 4-1 on aggregate and we make it all the way to the final, to face Italian Giants Juventus, and the way the season has gone we're super high on confidence going in

Final

Once again our opposition crumble in the penalty shootout and Tranmere Rovers end the dream season and are crowned UCL Champions

So a truly remarkable season for the team who start FMM 17 in the VNN now Premier League winners, double EFL and FA Cup winners, Community Shield winners and UCL winners

What a team this is, but the whole point of the challenge is to get a striker to 61+ goals, and with the season the way its gone I was just hoping that Abraham could do it to make it a perfect season

He had netted 38 by January 1st only needing 23 more to finish, but as always the curse of the new year hit and he required more resting this season with his age/stamina and amount of games

But the boy kept plugging away and eventually in early May (that's right 5 months to get 23 goals) he breaks the record (and fittingly for his Welsh Manager, he did it against a Welsh club)

Spoiler

He netted two in this game (goal number 60 (a Penalty) and this was goal number 61

So there it is 61 goals in a single season (all the excellent cup runs really helped)

IMG_2523.thumb.PNG.38266cdbfc8bb1809816f10505165442.PNG

Here's his final Stats and history

IMG_2534.thumb.PNG.d3e6017d1ae6af4e4d00ac7faa008316.PNG

Still some solid stats for a 32 year old striker, but his stamina has been steadily decreasing and he needed resting more and more this season

IMG_2535.thumb.PNG.4b181b476c5a93f5f23e8e0d1ca8dc62.PNG

he finished the season with a more than respectable 65 in 57 games

Here's the boring bits for anyone who cares to read them
