Help How effective are goalie captains?

I have a Goalkeeper with 20 leadership and a Defender with 17 leadership. Which one would make as a better captain? Would Goalkeeper captain improve the defence? Or just improve their own performance?

I don't really know tbh,  if it was me I would check their average ratings as well as attitude and stuff like that before knowing who to designate as captain

Hi @Thirsk when choosing a good Captain i find its about age also, what age is the GK or Def? I always no matter what position they play choose them if they are aged 25 and above, a good CD/CM of 28 - 31 years old with high Leadership attribute is definitely one i would choose as he is most likely a mature leader of the team.

Don't even think that Captains even have an actual effect, visible or behind-the-scene.

In order of importance,

1. Leadership
2. Teamwork
3. Age
4. Decisions

So it turns out the goalkeeper of mine with better teamwork and older age wins the day!

I tended to notice slightly better results playing with a captain, notably in away games.
