Career For Vibe and Country- A H2H

Hey guys, I'm back with a new career and I will be attempting a H2H vs the great @Taff. We have decided to attempt the new Challenge by @mcandrew003 Vibe's Success Challenge.

In essence this challenge is about getting the great Lasse Vibe to score 70 goals before retiring to celebrate Vibe. So we have decided that we will stick with the original rules and start at Brentford. Don't forget to leave a comment and show your support for either Team @Real_Random or Team @Taff.

Nice to see another H2H this year, and good to see the challenge being used! 

Very tough decision indeed, both of you have very interesting careers at the moment, but due to his experience with goal scoring challenges in the past, I'm gonna go with Team Taff. Good luck to both though, will follow with great interest. Bring on update 1!

Both rolled over for me at the CC but I'm on team Taff as he seems a decent guy and RR seemed to take pleasure in my final defeat, which hasn't been forgotten!

Messi Community wouldn't work either as that just sounds like a site for Messi Fans

Oh well looks like we're stuck with Vibe

I've completed my first season, but after a PM confab with RR we decided to post our updates at the same time so will wait for him (the fact he's in Oz and I'm in England doesn't help with keeping things in sync but we'll get the updates up asap)

For Vibe and for Country

Season 1

Hi guys and welcome to my first season update in my H2H with "The Wizard of Oz" @Real_Random (who should have his update up in about an hour or so)

This H2H as you know is based on @mcandrew003's Vibe Success Challenge in which we will attempt to beat each other to be the first to get this guy to 70 goals 

Not the worst stats in the world but would like to have seen a few more greens.

Now myself and RR agreed to use the same club for this challenge and the mighty team we chose was none other than....(pause for effect)

Brentford (thats right Brentford) where Vibe is already a squad member so why mess with the system, so we will both be attempting to use Brentford and Vibe to reach 70 goals as quickly as possible

So let the show begin

As always the first thing I do is hit the transfer market and try to strengthen the squad (can't remember what the transfer budget was)

Only one purchase this season and he joined in the winter transfer window as a cracking LW.  Rodrigo came in to assists in the heart of defence with O'Brein coming in as a RB/LB and Carbonero as a great CM/RW option

Outs

Did make a few good sales, but the money ended up going on the wages rather than transfers, Clarke was a good RW but with Carbonaro coming in and a few other choices for that position he was let go, the same goes for McEachran who had too much competition in the CM so made a good profit on him

So with my transfer dealings done we set off on our journey to 70 goals 

First things first is how the team did this year

League

This was going to be tough as the Championship is no joke, but I had confidence in my squad to see it through

At the beginning of the new year we're sitting at the top of the table 7 points clear of Fulham in 2nd.  Could the team keep their nerve and hold on to win the league.....

Why yes they could, having a fantastic season, losing only 4 games (a few too many draws) but we end the season with over 100 points and 13 clear of Wolves, and scored over 90 goals on our way to becoming a Premiership side

Cups

The team had one hell of a season when it came to the EFL cup this season

Progressing all the way to the Semi Finals where we lose out on Away Goals (didn't realise the EFL cup relied on away goals in the Semi's (oh well you live and learn), but so impressed with the boys, especially when you see the run in to the Semi's

We have to rely on winning a penalty shootout in the first round against a much weaker Barnet side

We then go on to beat fellow Championship side Wigan 

A single goal and a huge win sees us knockout out big boys Spurs

Then thanks to an extra time winner we take our second Premiership scalp

And a fantastic 2-2 draw with Chelsea and a terrible penalty shootout on their part sees us take our third EPL scalp on our way to the semi finals, where we draw 0-0 away at Arsenal and then draw 1-1 as seen above

So a great achievement for the team and a huge confidence booster going into next season

The F.A. Cup was nothing to write home about as we were knocked out in the fourth round by Norwich (can't win them all)

Now onto the important stuff, and that is How did Vibe do this season, well it was a slow start

Mid December and this is the first game where Vibe scored more than 1 goal in a game

here's his form at the beginning of the year (first 20 games or so)

Very hit and miss and when he did score it was single goals (when he got tired I brought Hoffman on and he was a machine knocking in 2/3 a game when Vibe was rested), but thankfully he did pick up

Still hit and miss but at least he was scoring 3 here 2 there which really helped 

Here's how he looks after the year is over (been on Attacking IT)

His Dribbling and Shooting are now in the green which is great and his Movement has gone up by 2 points so all in all a good improvement.

Now the one bit of info everyone wants to see, how did he do...Drum Roll Please......

Vibe finished the season on a (so-so) 35.  Not to disappointed to be half way, but needed him in better form than he showed and the fact we're now a Premiership team means chances will come less for the man, but our run in the EFL Cup has given me a little confidence going forward.

So RR I'm halfway there, just need a fast start to season 2, unless you pulled off a 50 goal season in which case I need him to score 10 a game

Vibe leading the way, but Gogia playing RW or AM contributing along with Hoffman, who only really played as a sub but netting 13 from the bench is really impressive

Sawyers and Gogia playing primarily as my AM providing the assists

Season Awards

Vibe and Gogia clinching the top spots in the Championship POTY

My BBM Woods clinching the YPOTY ahead of Man U lonnee Jackson

And all my hard work is appreciated as I clinch the MOTY award

So that's the first season over Championship winners, EFL Cup semi finalists and we are exactly half way to the 70 goal target, lets hope that Vibe and Brentford are ready for the big time
