Dont know if it would be possible, but I would love to see Ground Grading requirements into the game.

For example on Vamarama National you need a capacity of 4,000 w/500 seats, Vamarama North/South it is 3,000 w/250 seats

For the Football League it is 4,000 w/500 seats for entry with the ability to reach 5,000 w/1,000 seats within a few years.

Promotion to the Championship gives you 3 years to remove terracing and go all-seater, would be good if some kind of rules for ground criteria could be written, so if you get promoted from Van.North you get a message saying the ground has been/will meet updated grading criteria.

Something else interesting would be the moving of big FA Cup Ties, it does happen sometimes in real life and I have actually seen instances in the game where European Ties have been moved due to ground not being big enough in game.

As a Darlington fan, I know for a fact if we got a big cup tie anytime, say a Prem or Top Championship Team, our home ground would not be able to cope and would likely be moved to a neutral venue

A bit more details/progress update on report during contract negotiations (with a bargaining coach/scout to get involved and let us see how the to and fro is going). The anticipation of the waiting process is hard especially for a player you really want.

  • With clubs to agree on transfer fee
  • Contract negotiation for player salary with agent/player

Yeah, I would like to sew more negotiations, maybe even include agents fees in the Contract negotiations like you can on FMPC.

I would like to be able set squad status i.e. First Team Regular, Squad Player, Hot Prospect etc and also to negotiate bonuses i.e. Goal Scoring, Clean Sheet, Trophy/Cup Bonus Promotion Increase/Relegation Decrease.

Also, Scouting...I would love the ability to scout Countries instead of Regions and to scout competitions i.e. World Cup, Euro African Nations etc, one thing I really hate about scouting at the moment, is when a scout checks out a player and he comes back and says he doesn't think the player is good enough, unless I have specifically scouted a player I dont want those scout reports to pop up. I would also like to tell a scout exactly what to look for in a certain, so I can send a scout on assignment looking specifically for a CM whose role is BWM.

In the player search filters I would also like to specify what I want i.e. A left footed Attacking Midfield Advanced Playmaker

I would really like to see the following

1. More Leagues: Especially Chinese, American and Brazillian leagues

2. Buy Back Clauses: Allow the club to buy back the player they sold for a decent amount if they wanted too.

3. Release Clauses: Also a new feature in FIFA this season, I would love to see it in the FMM 2018. Buy one player for £1m sell him for £2m

I'd love to see some clearer financial elements in the future, specifically the prize monies you get for Cup runs and the total cost for upgrading facilities to a certain point

Certainly helps with lower league enthusiasts like me

It's probably been mentioned before, but being able to dictate the position of a player you're loaning out would be a bonus

Obviously, the main benefit would be a player recently trained in a new position getting a whole season of game time to perfect the role

Not sure if this would be possible from a licensing point of view but im guessing you must still have some databases lying around from old versions. Wondering if you could incorporate them into the game so that I could start a game as Milan say in 2005. Game would have all the players from that era and go forward accordingly.

Tbh The only things I'm really interested in are tactical options. New roles, individual instructions etc... and - of course - a more refined match engine.

Team talks, staff, media interaction all risk distracting from the essence of a 'pick up and play' football management sim. I find staff in FMM2017 a chore.  Not interested in any extension of this.

Would be nice if they made transfers a bit easier by condensing relevant info into one screen: Attributes, Personality type, player preferred moves, scout-only player info (e.g 'thrives in the big matches' or 'tendency to bend the rules'). Nice if all the player preferred moves were visible without switching roles. Lots of clicking to get the measure of one player, and this can become very onerous when trying to investigate a list.

I hope that at some point we are interviewed for jobs, rather than just being offered them (or picking a club from the starting menu)

Most of the aspects needed are already in the game anyway (setting club goals and tactics) etc

Say, for example, in the upcoming game, the first team you wavy to manage is Sunderland, instead of just picking them from the list, you're actually choosing to be interviewed

The board would ask what your ambitions are for the season (that's already in the game)

Next they'd ask what transfer budget you're looking for (between £0-£100 million) common sense required here obviously, depending on which team you're talking to

They'd ask which players you'd look to sign, young, experienced or mixed

Next they'd ask for your preferred playing style (again, already in the game)

After that, you'd be told if you'd been successful or not, based on what you'd said, compared to board expectations I. f you were starting a new game, and failed during the interview, you'd be sent back to the starting screen,

During saves, your reputation would be taken into account, so if you were managing a team expected to battle against relegation every season, but you over achieved each year, bigger clubs in a slump would look to bring you in

If you had an excellent rating with your work with young players, you'd be offered jobs on the strength of that

Conversely though, if you were great at survival, or building young teams, but lacked silverware, getting a job with a title challenging team would see players and board members turn on you quickly

1. Top of my list as always is enhanced record logging - international, club and competition top scorers, active club legends and favorites for managers and players. Basically anything that turns a career into a story rather than a series of stand alone seasons played end to end.

2. End of season reviews, nothing major just an acknowledgment that expectations were/were not met, if you've over/under achieved, did the new big money signing pay off, did you win an historic treble or miss out on penalties in the final.

3. Start of season reviews, who has spent big and will challenge last years champions, who is tipped for the drop, who's flogged all their players and haven't replaced them, again things that add a bit of story and drama to a career.

Oh man I'm chomping at the bit for any kind of news about FMM18. I love all these ideas, but I'd like to see what SI is gonna go with for this year's iteration of everybody's favourite "Dots Moving about on a Screen" Simulator.

Anyone else a little too anxious about the lack of news so far?

I'm not anxious, just a bit disappointed. I thought they'd have told us one new thing today, then the rest next week in the lead up to the release

It'd get people talking about the game, without having to go overboard

That's a much better word to describe how I'm feeling, I'm sure it's all fine back at SI HQ, but the lack of communication is a little mysterious.

And I agree with the second part of that too, generating comments about your product is always a good thing. Although it seems like we're doing fine in that regard without any new tidbits of info.

Yes, I've been checking up often since they said early November for news of the release..... still nothing?

Nope, i just had a look over at the SI forums just about an hour ago too, nada.

Friday is often perceived as a great day for game marketing, hence the friday release next week. Considering tomorrow is a Friday and exactly 1 week before release, i wouldn't be surprised if something dropped tomorrow. Friday is last day of school, working week, payday and so SI may be waiting for this opportunity. Just a thought.

I hope you're right, but I'd have thought Thursday would be a better day, for the reasons you mentioned. People would go to work or school etc, and talk about the new game to friends who are also interested, whereas Friday evenings, and over the weekend, people will be busy socialising etc, so the game won't be on many people's minds

Having said that, I'm out with my girlfriend, and her group tomorrow night. Imagining the awkward silences and blank looks I'd get while rambling on about new features is pretty amusing to me

Nothing so far unfortunately, today would've been a great day as well.

Personally after playing the game for hours there are many different changes that could be made. For example:

1. Youth teams and leagues. Currently with reserve teams for most teams if they don't have a b team irl we have no way of giving the youth experience without loaning them out which can be a bit of hassle sometimes. Adding in under-21s to the game with its own leagues would make for a very good feature leading to my next idea.

2. Ability to manage said youth teams/Choose who manages the youth team. Being able to manage a youth team may be the way most people want to start their managerial career and grow from there. But if you manage the first team you could then maybe promote one of your coaches linking with the staff feature added in or maybe hire one off the staff search option.

3. Stadiums. In fmm when you want to increase your stadium capacity all you do is make a board request and it either happens or it doesn't and all that happens afterwards is an email saying that work on the stadium is complete if they approve of the request but there isn't anything regarding the media or fans. Maybe if there was an impact from fans responding happily or negatively depending on how they felt the money was spent as it could have been used for other things if it is a low league team that should more focus on keeping their finances high rather than unnecessarily improving capacity also affecting managers reputation to handle finances. But also the option to create a new stadium after the current stadium has reached a maximum amount that was set for that stadium for a certain amount of money or when the stadium becomes quite old.

4. One that makes slows the game down a bit. Kit Numbers. This is just a minor thing but the ability to give players squad numbers instead of seeing your sub striker bearing the number 13 when they have the number 9 in real life seems to annoy me as I have quite a thing for squad numbers and it would be a nice little addition.

5. More stats. Currently when you go to see clubs league history you can only see where they have been since the start of the game meaning that you can't see how they progressed beforehand. Also it would be good to see a certain managers history like the player history area just for a manager. For example you find Pep Quardiola at PSG at 2025 and want to find out how he was doing beforehand and what trophies he achieved as well.

6. The last one. Transfers. They seem a bit repetitive as you do the same thing every time. Make a bid. Probably have it rejected with a massive counter offer then agree a similar wage with the player where you have to put big club clauses on even if you are a big club. I believe they should add things like buy-back clauses or release clauses as they have in real life which could also make the world or transfers in game a bit more interesting as a player  at a mid table team lose one of their top players to a struggling team in the same division it could add some challenge as that team could get some decent players from it and survive instead of them being stuck in a similar position all season.

I hope you like some of my ideas even though they won't be implemented into this year but it could be something to think about in the coming time where they start to work on next year's build.

Thanks.

My ideas for FMM18:

New Leagues:

Starting in the basic way I belive in this new game there will be new leagues, in my opinion, and looking at the FMM17 lisences the Danish league will probably be added Another one is the Gibraltarian league but the low level of this league makes me believe this wleague is not going to be added for the new game.

U-21 or U-23 squads (clubs):

Depending the league or the team you are controlling your reserves players can get exerience on differents ways. If your team is from Spain, France or from Germany (and some dutch and portuguese teams) and from a top division surely you have a 'B' team in a low division (except Barcelona and Sevilla). But if you play in another league like English or for example the Australian league you have to loan your young players for make it get experience. It should be arranged.

U-21 U-19 U-17... national teams and tournaments:

That should be added to FMM or handheld long time ago or at least the U-21 teams. This addition can upgrade the scouting of all clubs into these tournaments like Euro U-21, World Cup U-17 for example. Maybe there are no much U-17 players or inclusive U-21 players in the game but this is my next point.

Newgens:

More newgens and more realism of this. Maybe the U-21/U-23 clubs squads can fix this a bit but another clubs around the world with a good wonderkid potential capacity should be generating more newgens.
About the realism for them... The names and surnames are too many repetitive or inclusive I found players that can play as defender and striker.

More and more realistic transfer:

There are not much transfers at the transfer window and most of them are unrealistic. In summer 2016 for example you can found unrealistics teansfers like Sokratis to Villarreal for 40M.

More realistic seasons simulation:

Rarely one team who promotes to a top league will not relegate at next season. This should be fixed too.
