@Brenty92 sorry to be a pain but my holiday starts Friday so I am longer in a position to take over from @Niall C.

I will check back in a couple of weeks to see how the land lies but please count me out for now.

SD? As it's unlocked on the save sure. Unless people don't want it accepted (by this point does it matter, squad is crazy and expensive as is so not like the extra money will impact much etc, I'd accept it).

So here is my season for our challenge. As I said my chosen striker was Alexandre Lacazette. But before I get in that. @Taff how did you let this guy move to Fiorentina for FREE 

 

So here is our £30 Million signing from Juventus.

 

European Super Cup

So first competitive game and my first trophy in the cabinet. Also our new striker got off the mark.

Spanish super cup

Next up it was the Spanish super cup versus the white half of Madrid.  We won 2-1 away from home with our man getting on the score sheet again. In the second leg a 1-1 draw Griezman canceling out ex Ath.Madrid  Vietto's goal as we won 3-2 on aggregate and our second trophy in the cabinet.

Club world Championship

In our next competition was the club world championship, we faced Athlerico Mineiro in the final a game we dominated and our man very nearly bagging a hat trick but another trophy all the same.

Spanish Cup

After beating some minnow int early round( I never took a SS of the round) we faced Sevilla. After a 1-1 draw in the first leg, It was a tense affair in the second leg. We kept banging on the door and eventually our Lacazette popped up with an equalizer, sending us to extra time we seemed the destined for penalties but late goals from either side seen it finsih 3-3 on aggregate and we progressed on away goals.

We would face the mighty Barcelona in the quarter finals. Once again drawing 1-1 in the first leg and we then won 1-0 at home with Ross barkley being the star man with goals in both legs and we moved on to the semi finals.

Semi final

The first leg of this game we all but booked our place in the final. This game was particularly important for Lacazette as his brace brought up the striker's 30th goal so with the pressure of that off the team we can move onto the next goal. Catching Mr. @Taff  tally. The second leg was a close 1-1 as we took the opportunity to rest the key players including Lacazette.

Final

In the final we faced our bitter rivals again. As we looked to bag another trophy. It was also important as we looked to stop Real winning three in a row. Unfortunately we couldn't do it. After Lacazette  gave us an early lead. Morata scored a brace to win the trophy for los blancos.

Champions League

Group H

We were drawn in Group H with Arsenal, Napoli and Olympakos.  We did well unfortunately losing and drawing with Arsenal leaving us in second place.

Last 16

We drew the mighty Juventus in the last 16 and after a 1-0 win at home, proving vital as we lost 3-2 in Italy and we got through on away goals.

Quarter finals

After a terrible first leg a late Saul goal giving us a lifeline for the second leg after the 2-1 defeat. In the second leg we had an amazing start to the game Lacazette netting a crucial penalty and in the second half we went all out wining 4-1 on the night and 5-3 on aggregate.

Semi finals

In the semi finals we faced Ac Milan. The team we actually sold Aubameyang too but he didn't play. A 1-1 draw at the san siro could have being so much better had Lacazette's goal stood. In the second leg Lacazette scored an equalizer as we went all the way to penalties and we came through   7-6 in the shoot out.

Final

We looked to beat PSG and have the chance to retain our champions league crown. Lacazette opened the scoring and Griezmann popped up with a late goal and the tittle was ours.

League

The main target. as always is dominance in the league. We had a phenomenal season as we cruised home to win the tittle from Barcelona by 11 points and even sweeter 22 points clear of Real. Lacazette topped the scoring charts with 28 goals in the league and as you can see the rest of the attackers chipped in with their fair share of goals.  Ross Barkley won the assist chart as he played a important role in the no.10 role laying on 14 assists. Again we had plenty of other players making up the top chart.

We bagged the manager of the year award. Lacazette wining the World player of the year and the Spain player of the year award.

Lacazette's season

So the all important question how did Lacazette get on as our new striker.  In 61 appearances he bagged a huge 44 goals unfortunately I couldn't take the top spot from @Taff but if my maths are correct brought 200 goals for the save.
