Yeah the form page seemed out of whack, I counted the goals but they didn't match up but the numbers were right just not in sync

Season 18

OK no gibberish lets just crack on

Went quite mental this year as I wasn't sure what kind of formation I wanted to use, hence why I brought in Debu, Zengin and Valbuena all new strikers to possibly assist Buitink If I end up using my 442 or 343, Galitsios, Malbranque and Russo all came in to help my aged defence and Dyche was a good looking RW prospect from the Youth Academy 

Let some of my unused players leave and the rest just unwanted graduates 

Competitions

Domestic

Buitink hits a brace but it wasn't enough and we lose the Community Shield for the first time in recent memory 

Stoke (for like the 3rd year running) come up against us in the EFL Cup final, and once again are spanked off the pitch thanks to a great team effort

We hit over 100 in both goals and points as we secure our 18th league title 

And my three star attacking players all chip in to give us another 4-0 win and we lift the FA cup once more

Europe

We prevail in what looked like a much tighter game than the stats suggest but we won the Cup and thats the important thing

We walk away top of the group once again and move on to the knockout stages

We prevail over Juventus in the first knockout round thanks to a 6-3 agg score, next up Man City

A 3-0 win at home helped us as we're held to a 1-1 draw at the Etihad but we move on to the semi finals 4-1 winners, next up back to Italy to face AC Milan

A much tighter set of games, but two 1-0 wins was enough and we're into the Final and Chelsea are waiting for us 

And a Buitink Brace helps seal a 3-0 win and Arsenal lift the UCL crown once again

International

This year saw us finish the WC qualifiers 

Top of the group, which should help seed us in a decent group come the finals, and speaking of which

We top a fairly easy group (should have scored more but what the hell) we then play our way through the knockout stages, fending off Italy, Germany before reaching the final to face Portugal

And an early goal from Buitink is all it takes and Holland Win the World Cup

So a fantastic season all round, shame about the Community Shield, but that's just a minor blip on the radar

So how did the man do this year, well

His stats still look pretty good for a 34 year old, and he's still banging in the goals

56 goals for his club and 16 for his country (I included the other history page as the WC finals ran into the new season)

So only 10 goals left to reach the magic 1000 (but I really want to get him to 1000 Club goals as well, only because the INT job came up so late it's feels cheap not to finish it with the club as well)

Season 19

So here it is guys, only 10 goals left and he hits the magic 1000, so lets get going on our long winding road

Few new faces in, Jimenez comes in to be my new #1 GK, Deckers as a great looking CM, Ronstadt as another new CD and Bernat as a backup LW

Two of my unwanted defensive players leaving for a small profit then just unwanted or out of contract players

Domestic

We gain some revenge on Chelsea clinching the Community Shield thanks to a 2-0 win

The EFL Cup returns to the Emirates thanks to another 2-0 win 

We smash the league once again breaking the 100 points/goals mark (only just realised how tight 2nd to 6th is)

Heartbreak in the FA Cup final as a 94th minute winner seals our loss, but still not to gutted after all the success we've had

Europe

Former club PSV feel the heat as we bang 4 past them, thanks to a hat-trick from AP Dias and one from Buitink for good messure

We cruise the group stage winning all 6 and netting an impressive 21 goals along the way (poor Rangers)

Close run thing once again as we face Juve in the First knockout round, but we move on thanks to a 4-2 agg score

FCP give us a fight in the quarter finals but we walk away 3-1 winners and move on to the semi finals

This was a slobberknocker of a game, we went 3-0 by HT, then Chelsea came back fighting but it wasn't enough especially with the goal we had from the first leg, and we go to the final thanks to a 7-1 agg score 

A brace from a nearly 35 year old Buitink and 2 more goals saw us prevail 4-2 over a decent Sevilla side but Arsenal are UCL Champions again

Not much to report here, just a few friendlies and European Div Games

So now on to the Important news, Thomas Buitink and his long journey to 1000 goals

He played his heart out this season for both club and country and even at 34/35 I kept him as a sole striker and the boy delivered, oh how he delivered

He had 58 INT goals when I took over

Thats now up to 84, an improvement of 26 + 975 Club goals, brings him to 1001 (he netted twice against Newcastle)

 

And there it is Goal 1000 for Club and country and honestly never thought I'd get there and I can't thank the members here on vibe for their amazing support and continued messages, this is why I do this to pay back all the great people of this site (panda's included)

But the season also saw another mile stone as well

25 seconds into the game and he steels a backwards pass and punishes Blackburn to net his 1000 Club Goal under my management 

He ended this game with a hat-trick hence the 1002, but there it is the magic goal coming in his 902nd game at club level

So there they are goal #1000 and his 1000 goal for his Club(s)

Couldn't be a happier man, like I said I honestly thought this wouldn't happen, but I'm so happy it has

Also thought this would be his last season

This was it, his final year....

Oh no he's changed his mind and I get at least 1 more season out of him, but with FMM 18 only a month away, I'm going to milk him for every goal until he will not play anymore and try to get him a new contract every season

Still looks good (technically more than physically) but I think he had another 3 season left yet

He ended the season with a very respectable 49 goals in 52 games, not to bad at all, but I love looking at the 1000+ numbers now (might have to re-check the leaderboard see where I can (realistically get him)

My new Striker Debu (who is awesome playing as a backup he netted a stupid amount of goals from the bench) wins the WOPTY with my AP Dias in the runner up spot 

Reine-Adelaide wins the Dutch POTY with Buitink coming in 2nd

And yet another MOTY award for me

So there it is guys, the magic 1000 goals and I honestly couldn't be happier but I will keep him going for as long as I can as there is no point doing a new career this close to FMM18's release 

Thank you all so much for keeping me going with this one and all the positive feed back I can't say how much it's kept me going 

I'll be back with new updates as the seasons progress but I won't rush it now as he's got there

What was Armstrong's final tally, as this season he is really struggling to hit the mark and his physical stats are dropping like stones
