@Taff Just caught up on this one mate - looks like a promising start! His stats look great for his age and I'm sure you'll be getting 40/50 next season. Looking forward to seeing how you get on dude

Thomas Buitink and the Road to 1K

Season 3

So after a decent first two season for our young Dutchman, this season I wanted him to show me what he could do up front alone, so I reset the tactic to one I used during my Barbosa 1K (I think it's the same scrolled through the thread and no sign of it and I'm hoping this is roughly it)

So as always first off we hit the transfer market

Spoiler

IMG_4206.thumb.PNG.3b9a5f7b5743c229ca51820673736fe5.PNG

Only three players in this year, Emre Can being the best of the bunch and for less than £15M I think thats a bargain for a CM who in my opinion is as good as Pogba, then Vogt is a good CB/CM option and Munir as a backup GK

IMG_4207.thumb.PNG.568e325cb40927038d6ddfe901651822.PNG

Nothing but free agents leaving this year, mostly B team and graduates with one of my young CM's going out on loan

So with new blood pumped into the team we set off on another season

Spoiler

Domestic

We begin once again with the Dutch Supercup, and once again we face Ajax

IMG_4185.thumb.PNG.e8e601586b0c41f2f634572aa91547a8.PNGIMG_4184.thumb.PNG.0936a2ce35aa955b4b0a4276a3c18267.PNG

And a brace from Buitink sinks Ajax dreams and we claim our 3rd Dutch Supercup

IMG_4192.thumb.PNG.7f6902b3c0c5a2d25469cb6ddda1a9fb.PNGIMG_4193.thumb.PNG.236b3e2d13ad36fd439007c111fe4bf9.PNG

We cruise the league winning with 8 games remaining and being undefeated at that point

IMG_4205.thumb.PNG.b47195302c85596211953e94da4d8e36.PNG

And we remain undefeated for the whole season racking up a good amount of points and goals and conceding only 18 goals for the season

IMG_4201.thumb.PNG.ce957b56b993f2827a21b8b838ba2206.PNGIMG_4200.thumb.PNG.5355a5be679591b4dbf3e6f66b24845e.PNG

de Jong comes in and smashes 3 past Feyenoord to claim the Dutch cup for PSV in a thrilling 4-1 win

Europe

We start the year in the UCL group stages coming up against SLB, A. Madrid and Dinamo

IMG_4191.thumb.PNG.b9e3e2d4b3fb3c275b46b17a0e74a55c.PNG

We progress top of the group after winning 4 out of 6 and drawing a game against both SLB and A. Madrid

We then move on to the knockout round where our first opponents are Gelsenkirchen

IMG_4194.thumb.PNG.8a1760d2a8a7199d4868fb8909124654.PNG

A great 2-0 win away sets up a good home leg, where a single de Jong goal clinches the tie and PSV move on to the quarter finals with a 3-0 agg score, next up Spanish Giants Barcelona

IMG_4198.thumb.PNG.e9d7b2ff559b25e8a1d6bb7b44d3128e.PNG

And we somehow manage to win both legs 3-2 at home and 2-1 away seeing us into the semi finals where we face Man City

IMG_4202.thumb.PNG.389cff72878abe09c64dec66d08e3f56.PNG

And once again we prove a force to be rekoned with winning both legs 2-0 and PSV are going to the UCL final to face the other Spanish giants Real Madrid

IMG_4209.thumb.PNG.5d1f0410b04de98de8d56eaabc07c5d0.PNGIMG_4208.thumb.PNG.4d558d55c41c86bafad7e5d0ce29b281.PNG

And a single late goal from my ever impressive RW Risse is enough and PSV (who have taken on and beaten all three of the Spanish Giants this year) are crowned UCL Champions

So what a year, our third domestic treble and the UCL Title as well

But the big question is how did Buitink do on his own

IMG_4210.thumb.PNG.513af8277eb1b55dc6b0034ea72138ff.PNG

His stats are really starting to look impressive and still only 18 years old,

IMG_4211.thumb.PNG.7951aa4ad5bf9d3db6d208f0a1fe7292.PNG

33 from 44 games, so around the same as last season and we still haven't broken the 100 mark yet and this is becoming a bit of a worry, but still early days

Thomas Buitink

Games Played: 130

Goals Scored: 99

Goals Remaining:  901

Here's hoping next season goes a little better, hell if he could break 40 I'd be happy, but I don't want to put too much pressure on him at this young age, so we'll wait and see

Here's the rest of the season Info

Team Stats

IMG_4212.thumb.PNG.0dd394cc9f10f7ded2609cbd63314a59.PNG

Buitink by far and away our top scorer but 19 from de Jong and most coming when we really needed him and my young AM Ramselaar is proving to be a huge asset to the team

IMG_4213.thumb.PNG.1ab2b85feb42a319889376989b03be39.PNG

Santos on the LW providing the bulk of the assists this year, but Buitink getting 11 means I need to make him more selfish

Season Awards

IMG_4199.thumb.PNG.8ea0105399c76c4fe4118cde9000b132.PNG

Buitink and Ramselaar claim the top 2 spots in the Dutch YPOTY

IMG_4203.thumb.PNG.f03bba46f152ebca537a14b64f631720.PNG

This Time Buitink and Santos are 1st and 2nd in the Dutch POTY

IMG_4204.thumb.PNG.f61810c64433ccef420ecb448475461c.PNG

And it's a 3rd MOTY for moi

So another so so season, but these early years were always going to be tough, just hope a tweek or two in the tactic will improve his tally next year

Till then I'll catch you all on the flip side

Just caught up Taff and it's been great to read, really makes me want to start a 1k challenge but I'm useless with tactics and will be probably get about 400 goals.

Keep up the good work mate. (y)

You never know dude, I failed 2 attempts before finally nailing it with Barbosa last year, and I'm still on less than 100 after three seasons, so its going to be a long road yet

Cheers for the comments lads, as you know they are really appreciated

I'm certain he will kick on from now, he's had 3 seasons of extremely valuable experience playing in and around the best!

Prediction? Ahh only 48 this year ? Step it up a notch Taffman!

Never used him but heard great things. While I understand why you're disappointed these first few seasons are really for "free". Like Bati said the challenge really starts when he turns 20 and by then you'll be aiming for under 900, IMO you've got a 100 goal head start so nothing to worry about.

These early seasons are why I typically don't use 16 year olds for this challenge, I usually look for 18-20 year old as I hate the four years of grinding to get them ready lol.

All in all this is a promising start, I've always been playing a 1kc and I know the feeling of "is that all he managed" but we just have to hope the big numbers come! Tbh my save is somewhat in limbo atm, I think I might have bitten off more than I can chew haha.

Seriously though how many careers do you play! Two weeks away and it feels like most the ones I've caught up are yours haha. I'm jealous of your ability to play so fast and so consistently. FMM just doesn't have it's hooks in me enough to do it anymore and that saddens me a lot. I used to smash out a long career a month, now I can't even manage a long career without losing interest :(. Think my longest save of 2017 is 11 seasons or whatever my caretaker or rogue save hit. I'd love to be able to sink into FMM again so bloody much!

Cheers for the comment Ash, I've enjoyed these two weeks away to refresh the batteries and spend some quality time with the family,

I can't seem to pick my phone up without playing the game, and to be absolutely honest it's all about coming on here and chatting with everyone, that's the main reason I play, yes achieving things and beating challenges are great, but the big reason is to come and share with like minded people who enjoy the game and encourage you to keep going.

there are always times I think I can't wait for this career to be over then have a rest, but there is always new ideas/careers/challenges that pull me straight back in

Playing as long as you have I understand FMM lag, but the truth is even your smallest careers are amazing, and ones I always look out for, and you have great insight for the newcomer and your always more than accommodating when anyone needs your help

OK enough of this mushy Bromance let's get up to date (got two seasons here and 1 in my INT 1K to post, plus about 40 notifications to work through)

So lets get cracking

Thomas Buitink and The Road to 1K

Season 4

Hi guys and I'm glad to be back, as I said I've enjoyed my 2 weeks off, but now and back in Vibe mode, got two full seasons to catch you up on, so lets get back to it

So I've been a little dissapointed to be honest with Buitink, but as the ever wise men of Vibe @BatiGoal and @Ashez have said, until he hits 20 just enjoy the early years

Season 4 starts as all the others with a trip to the Transfer Market to improve the squad where needed

Spoiler

IMG_4289.thumb.PNG.6840890d48c2cb1a2daa8699887b2e16.PNG

OK since it's been a while since I actually played the save I can't remember who Marin is, but I paid £15M for him (OK just looked and he is a Romanian AM, I brought in to help out behind Buitink, Then Walker-Peters was a free agent pick up to help out in the CB area, plus a decent looking PCR graduate

IMG_4290.thumb.PNG.078830c8b2433eee4a953fae54776921.PNG

A few unwanted unused players leaving, making a small profit of £6M

So with the new players in and the old out we set off on another season (I changed the tactic up early in the season and had some good results, I wouldn't share just yet)

Spoiler

Domestic

We begin as ever with the Dutch Supercup, this time we face AZ

IMG_4266.thumb.PNG.7c610a4b64b067dacefd214c2f625fff.PNGIMG_4265.thumb.PNG.ebb24aa2d4cc5a261b57e9df235fb6c2.PNG

Buitink nets a penalty and my new AM Marin grabs one as well winning the cup thanks to a 3-0 victory

IMG_4273.thumb.PNG.263f069ccb9c5012485f08a2a98da5be.PNGIMG_4274.thumb.PNG.f539c9e6f55f26f40e39caf9c47d0d99.PNG

We won the league with 8 games left, having gone undefeated to this point

IMG_4281.thumb.PNG.542e670b14ccb51985993b7b1d3c1565.PNG

And ended undefeated, drew 3 games and conceded only 7 goals all year in the league and left Ajax 33 points in our wake

IMG_4279.thumb.PNG.9a749eebb2fb5d6b28f5ab123d1fcf4c.PNGIMG_4278.thumb.PNG.4b129c6b131a703d2c904a3bbcd1470f.PNG

A brace from Buitink clinches the Dutch cup as well, so another domestic treble winning season

Europe

We began our European campaign with a game against FCP in the Euro Supercup

IMG_4268.thumb.PNG.d3201fadb446393bef3da0ea57bf0f8c.PNGIMG_4267.thumb.PNG.2dd3386b17504a7da57a71670f5c0937.PNG

Where my new AM shone netting 2 to help us to a 3-1 win and the Euro Supercup

The UCL group stage saw us drawn against Sevilla, SLB and Galatasaray so a decent group

IMG_4270.thumb.PNG.218c5391af3f97ffbdf954bb3c01cc40.PNG

But it was tougher than expected, but we do enough to top the group and progress through to the knockout stages

Our first opponents were Italian team AC Milan

 IMG_4275.thumb.PNG.0d7dd1985a1cadb073d11219d135d17f.PNG

A tough draw in the first game meant we took a very small away goal advantage into the home leg, where Buitink leaves it late to win the game with a single goal, to see us through to the quarter final where we face Man City

IMG_4276.thumb.PNG.dfcf36082fe005e15db7f87dd23aeb36.PNG

We lost the first leg 1-2, so all to do in the second leg, but a brace from Buitink and another from de Jong means we progress to the semi finals thanks to a 4-2 agg win, so on to the semi finals to face German Giants Bayern

IMG_4280.thumb.PNG.9215a2cf3beeb4e6098d503891b6862c.PNG

Two draws 0-0 at home, but thankfully a 1-1 draw away sees us go through to the UCL Final on away goals, and we head off to face the mighty PSG in the UCL Final

IMG_4284.thumb.PNG.d2d550f5499fdc94403c57f63a267613.PNG

Where two disallowed goals meant we lost 0-2 and PSG are the European Champions this year

CWC

IMG_4272.thumb.PNG.f20a53ff57f6db09f8e52e5ee82a267d.PNGIMG_4271.thumb.PNG.745b270da1837327b04d8daf86305d20.PNG

Buitink nets a hat-trick to clinch the CWC for PSV

So a good season, shame about the UCL final, but ce la vie there is always next season

So now onto the man himself.

Here's how his stats look after 4 full seasons

IMG_4285.thumb.PNG.d24db3120e0014101f3630b04bc8fea6.PNG

Some good improvement and still hasn't hit 20 yet, but did the new formation provide him with more goals

IMG_4286.thumb.PNG.7e6a4e89a016700b9e33be40b8303c66.PNG

Yes it did, 12 more goals in 3 more games and a very nice 45 in 47 means Buitink has moved just shy of 150

Thomas Buitink

Games Played: 177

Goals Scored: 144

Goals Remaining: 856

Here's the rest of the season info for you

Buitink the obvious top goal scorer, de Jong still the best striker sub in the world netting 17, and Marin, started well, but the change in formation meant he was playing the AP role from deeper and had less opportunities to score

IMG_4288.thumb.PNG.eed22e73c13784e93c7ef39ed06d0932.PNG

Santos again providing the assists from the Left flank with 19 for the season

Season Awards

IMG_4277.thumb.PNG.c70af11a0052493135f4ac0ac7a264a7.PNG

Buitink claiming the Dutch YPOTY once again, with Marin coming runner up

IMG_4282.thumb.PNG.9a46ca6ebfd7b1c537e7fb9a965ae185.PNG

Buitink also claims the POTY with my ever impressive LWB Willems coming in 2nd

IMG_4283.thumb.PNG.4121db3f308f5982ba73c5628f33ff1d.PNG

And Taffman Jones the 3rd claims his 4th consecutive MOTY award

So there we have it, a big improvement this year, and things can (hopefully) only get better

And because I know what you FMM Junkies are like, here's season 5 straight away

Thomas Buitink and the Road to 1K

Season 5

So no hanging around, lets get right back into it

We head into the transfer market once again to start the season

Spoiler

IMG_4423.thumb.PNG.fac11091199acd865626844b47531181.PNG

We spent big this year, bringing in the awesome Dutch player Depay, to play on the left as an IF, Gomez came in as a new starting CD, Saja and Zarate came in as backup wingers

IMG_4424.thumb.PNG.4d261b72801f6cef304ac56d4d3d8282.PNG

Sadly Marin left after a tempting £19M offer from Leicester came in, and the new formation doesn't really suit him, then Maher and Avdijaj who both played the AM role also left for other clubs, then just unwanted players out of contract and unwanted graduates

So players in and out, we begin yet another season with PSV and Buitink at the helm

Spoiler

Domestic

Once again into the breach and the Dutch Supercup to start the season off, this time we face arch rivals Ajax

IMG_4330.thumb.PNG.2b1bfb9b1ac433f2a4509bfa79cb79fe.PNGIMG_4329.thumb.PNG.d18f3e05be05323f920264f2e3cdeb35.PNG

And two goals after the 90 minute mark give us a healthy 3-0 win over Ajax to secure yet another Dutch Supercup

IMG_4355.thumb.PNG.8f4cee277d3acf41a37740faf8ec85cf.PNGIMG_4356.thumb.PNG.c50e7a5631e6d54269920a73861be49b.PNG

Once again the league is ours with 8 games to go, we did suffer some losses this year, and let in a few more goals

IMG_4418.thumb.PNG.ed875f33d2b1a18192a8e5ec3fcded74.PNG

But once again we end the season on 96 points (a whopping 38 clear of Ajax) and as you can see we conceded 0 goals in the last 8 games but scored 22

IMG_4353.thumb.PNG.71f265d62fe22d58a7cc6abda6398e81.PNG

Sadly ajax gained some measure of revenge knocking us out of the Dutch cup in the third round after losing the penalty shootout

Europe

We faced a tough group this year with Man U, Roma and Legia

IMG_4350.thumb.PNG.09f8cae4105940a0397982874022b1af.PNG

We ended up losing both games to United and drew one with Roma, but still progressed to the knockout round in 2nd place

First up we face Bayern in the first knockout round

IMG_4364.thumb.PNG.cafab2ab01a026d1d039a1f756a3993a.PNG

And once again we squeeze past them on away goals, thanks to a brace from Santos, so onto the quarterfinals to face Bayerns Italian equivalent Juventus

IMG_4365.thumb.PNG.953ea929d81c0a6647cde365a47de26a.PNG

where a late goal from Depay seals a narrow 2-1 agg win and we move on to the Semi Finals to face SLB

IMG_4432.thumb.PNG.bdbdc98b794397a680031bf0a1f71cb3.PNG

But sadly 2 away goals for the Portuguese side means we end our European journey a bit too early

So a half decent year, but the main question is how did our main man do

Here's his stats

IMG_4421.thumb.PNG.2642ad2d60da7c661317dd216b42adf9.PNG

Looking very impressive for a 20 year old, but he did miss a bit of the season with an injuries

IMG_4351.thumb.PNG.605a6f5b357af7d488fe0cb12596387e.PNGIMG_4354.thumb.PNG.00b0e45e070f302dc639a970f6e750f3.PNG

He was out for a month and then as soon as he started training again he was out for a further 3 weeks, so he missed almost 2 and a half months by the time he was fighting fit again, so you would expect his tally to take a massive hit

IMG_4422.thumb.PNG.f241e7e77dd333d49aa7e5ec52f6d9f2.PNG

but he netted only 2 less than last year a very impressive 43 in 35 games, and I couldn't be happier with the boy, he really impressed this year

Thomas Buitink

Games Played: 212

Goals Scored: 187

Goals Remaining: 813

So just 13 shy of the 200 mark, and if he can keep fit, I'm excited to see what he can do

Here's the rest of the info

Team Stats

IMG_4419.thumb.PNG.4c6e4ac417d07e6293c4e69070ff3d1e.PNG

The team did OK without Butink with Santos, de Jong chipping in, a disappointing year for Depay, but I think I used him as a winger rather than an IF, so maybe that's why he only netted 7

IMG_4420.thumb.PNG.11233c1a0d69ba84144bf4b16e2f4014.PNG

Santos killed it with the assists this year with a whopping 31 (huge numbers from the flank)

Buitink once again is named Dutch YPOTY

I missed the other screenshots but let's assume he won the POTY and I grabbed the MOTY as well

OK guys so there you have it Seasons 4 and 5, and Buitink and the Team are starting to roll now

Cheers and I'll try to catch up with everything I missed

I thrive on pressure, luckily most people are watching you so I can slip under the radar unnoticed like a little Welsh Ninja

Told you you had nothing to worry about ;). A massive dent in the challenge and many years left ahead! I think we should stop talking about a 1k target and start aiming way higher ;)

Great to see his progress - as the others have been saying, he's looking good for his age, etc. Now he's ramping it up! Shame about the injury, but I reckon he'll get 60 next year, no worries! ?

At this rate I'd be happy with 50 lol

Hello my fellow Vibers and welcome to yet another career from everyones favourite Welshman (I'm talking about me before everyone starts thinking about other famous Welshmen they like)

And after seeing the likes of @kts365 and @scratch99 complete 1K attempts this year and with @Varf in the middle of his, I thought why not have a go myself, I completed one last year with Gabriel Barbosa at Arsenal, and this year there are a number of great 16/17 year old players who could provide me with plenty of time to get to the magic 1000 goals

So as the title suggest I have chosen to use the young Dutch Striker Thomas Buitink who I used during my Alphabet challenge when he was in his prime and he became a beast of a striker, so I'm hoping picking him up at the tender age of 16 I can use IT to get him back up to the heights he was reaching in my other challenge

Now as important as the player is the club and league are equally important, having completed a 1K in the EPL last year and a DT and TT (of sorts) in the EPL this year I fancied somewhere different, and the normal go to leagues for these challenges seems to be Portugal or.....

Holland

I know that @Varf is currently using Ajax with his Moise Kean 1K, so I went with the other Dutch team PSV for two reasons

1. They have a good squad of youngsters who are ready to compete in both Holland and Europe

2. They have this beast of a player who could partner/mentor Buitink

596b59fdd3991_download(1).jpg.96673e258ff4aa9040429491619de234.jpg

As some (especially @BatiGoal will attest this guy is an immense striker, who I think would partner Buitink very well upfront to provide some class when the team needs it

Here is how my young gun looks after I picked him up from Vitesse

IMG_4099.thumb.PNG.e50f4366eced926e443cee2f2ce154c4.PNG

No greens but I'm sure that will change and his shooting is 14 so just shy of the green mark.

So with me appointed at PSV and Buitink now part of the team, I also went and restructured the team a bit where I though they needed it

We brought in a grand total of 10 new players to boost/backup certain areas of the team, Risse came in and instantly got a starters spot on the RW same with Santos on the LW, Donati became my new starting RB, Vandendriessche ,McShane and Diarra came in to sure up my midfield, then Mendez (LB/LW), Seoane (RB/RW) and Ferreira(CB) come in as backups all on free transfers

IMG_4132.thumb.PNG.9b610fe7f5d6535ec1980317564c9b7a.PNG

When Bayern came in with a £21M offer for Propper I bit their hand off without even blinking, Guaradado and Koch also left after bids arrived hence the £32M spent on new players

So my transfer dealings done it was time to move on and begin our journey to 1000 goals

Season 1

Domestic Competitions

We began the season with the Dutch Supercup game against Feyenoord

IMG_4104.thumb.PNG.9c60abd7c62d2dce3c0de8158b5d83d9.PNGIMG_4103.thumb.PNG.c349ab76ad4896913e4ea18310d1d7d4.PNG

And a brace from Ramselaar clinches the Super Cup

The league was touch and go but in the end..

IMG_4115.thumb.PNG.32027bb34622a0e61d31376a8887905c.PNGIMG_4122.thumb.PNG.ba10b3bd449dda1f7ae1728760cffa8a.PNG

We prevail with a good record  with only the 2 losses but too many draws again for my liking, and a healthy 14 point gap over the dogs at Ajax

IMG_4117.thumb.PNG.61298bdc39baf363198a341a66b9a6e7.PNGIMG_4116.thumb.PNG.2d620cf7a6a0356ae9fdc1caff83191c.PNG

And a very late goal from De Jong clinches the Dutch cup to round off a very good domestic treble

European Competitions

We also had some fun in Europe this year.

We are drawn in the UCL group stage alongside the Giants Bayern and Arsenal and fellow Euro Minnows Club Brugge, so I was hoping for a 3rd place finish and try our luck in the Euro Cup, and low and behold....

IMG_4107.thumb.PNG.7cd120015901d71263109b1f1c5db1b0.PNG

Thats exactly what happened

We beat Brugge in both games, lost twice to Arsenal and managed a loss and draw against Bayern, but thats fine and we progress to the Euro Cup knock out round

Our first opponents are Spurs

So a cracking first game with a Hat Trick from Buitink secures an unexpected 3-2 win, then a single goal from CM McShane is enough and PSV move on to the Second Knockout round

Our Next opponents Villereal

A hard fought 0-0 draw at home, but we let loose in the away leg and thanks to a brace from De Jong we walk away 3-1 winners and move on to the Quarter Finals

Next up we we host another Spanish Club in A. Bilbao

Both Games end 0-0 with disallowed goals in both, but we hold our nerve and win the penalty shootout to move on to the semi finals

Next up we head to France to face Olympique Lyonnais

A smashing couple of games winning 4-1 over two legs and PSV have reached the Euro Cup Finals

Our opponents Portugals FCP

IMG_4125.thumb.PNG.11164a6a19a47e9f8fbe8ac8b433ca1b.PNGIMG_4124.thumb.PNG.be5b88f2dd4f2b2e446ded08705ed1c5.PNG

Once again De Jong saves our bacon in the 92nd minute and that single goal (can't believe we only scored 1 when you look at the stats) was enough and PSV lift the Euro Cup

So a very VERY good season for the boys at PSV, a domestic treble and the Euro Cup, couldn't have asked for more in my first season in charge

But the main question is how did my little 16 year old wonder kid get on

He spent most of the season as a member of a duel striker attack with De Jong (set De Jong as a TM and Buitink as a P hoping De Jong will lay off some passes)

and he missed a little time with injury

IMG_4106.thumb.PNG.ed360ea1b4e6b0c673ea0bb16babd702.PNG

Only 3 weeks but thats like a month or so by the time he's match fit again, and taking a note from BG, I rested him every 5 games or so, here's his stats

IMG_4126.thumb.PNG.5505b1f9a1eb3fdf37a974ffeeff0784.PNG

Some improvement but still only 16 (turns 17 at the beginning of June), so still plenty of time to get him up there, and here is his history for season 1

IMG_4127.thumb.PNG.a253dc74e51a2de6a5c5074d2f3c79bb.PNG

35 games 31 scored, about what I was hoping for in his first season

Thomas Buitink

Games Played: 35

Goals Scored: 31

Goals Remaining: 969

So a long road ahead but he is still very young, and is sharing the front line with another striker, I will eventually have him as a lone striker, but not till he hits 19 I think

Thomas Buitink and the road to 1K

Season 6

Sorry for the Delay guys, my season in the CC plus limited personal time meant this season took longer to complete than usual, but were back so lets jump straight into season 6

Transfers

The squad is looking good but can always look better, so I brought in three new players to help out (2 joined in the winter window)

Spoiler

IMG_4771.thumb.PNG.e8e1c5ede35072ea5e965be3499c39eb.PNG

My three incoming players, Havertz is a great CM/AM option, who has proven himself a first team player from the moment he stepped out in PSV colours, Mbemba is a highly underrated CD who came in to sure up my aging defence, and Dendoncker comes in as a fantastic option who can play CD/DM/CM and gives me more options

IMG_4772.thumb.PNG.2d8655ae25239ed1ea1a294a36bbd386.PNG

All unwanted graduates leaving this year

So with the team set and a fairly decent version of my tactic in place we set off once again

Spoiler

Domestic

IMG_4743.thumb.PNG.ab5f4add2890a1a4646d912e2a3f69b9.PNGIMG_4744.thumb.PNG.35945eba7f4d2d0fd3cff067c4d5cc47.PNG

Buitink begins the season with a brace to help us secure a 3-0 win over FC Groningen and clinch the Dutch Supercup

IMG_4752.thumb.PNG.13d9a7053a496123322162671ed63438.PNGIMG_4753.thumb.PNG.7cd025b2f92f6be15b6dbf908478c996.PNG

We won the league once again with 8 games to go (seems to be the bench mark) and have gone undefeated to this point conceding only 9 goals to this point

IMG_4759.thumb.PNG.8726913728d4c8eefb112c8ca8ef69c7.PNG

We remain undefeated but concede 5 more goals in our final 8 games, but leave Feyenoord 31 points behind us as we secure a 6th consecutive league title

IMG_4756.thumb.PNG.fdc320ab0fc94b1f894400b85669b9c0.PNGIMG_4757.thumb.PNG.acded8406039f1bfaa1e3ce333e440e2.PNG

Ramselaar this time with the brace in an emphatic win over Willem II and another Dutch Cup to add to the cabinet

Europe

We begin the year with a tough draw in the UCL group stage, coming up against R. Madrid, Tottenham and Rosenburg

IMG_4750.thumb.PNG.bb8c3c59f29d82c708d6018f46c42566.PNG

We end the run with a 3-3-0 record same as Madrid but their superior GD means we go through as 2nd in the group and go on to face Chelsea in the first knockout round

IMG_4764.thumb.PNG.5be70116a84c212bc4d0ca246662832e.PNG

We manage a lucky 2-1 win at home and 71st minute strike from de Jong secures a win for PSV, and we're off to the Quarter Finals to face BMG

IMG_4765.thumb.PNG.4d3bff04ae49e2fe1fe67673f2f992ca.PNG

The first leg sees us walk out 1-0 victors and then we manage a 2-1 win at home to progress to the UCL semi finals 3-1 on agg.  Next up PSG in the semi finals

IMG_4766.thumb.PNG.a37ae4e99f2a267ef5b0454fdcf24c80.PNG

We scrape a 1-0 win at home and then a 66th minute goal from my CM Christiansen is enough to see us through 2-1 on agg and PSV head to the UCL final to face the red side of Manchester

IMG_4763.thumb.PNG.4b745a5be1158abe6111824c478cb2fb.PNGIMG_4762.thumb.PNG.f75e16abb8b5fae52415ca0ba9ddba0e.PNG

Who crumble until the 56th minute where they pull the score back to 3-2, but then that man again Ramselaar nods one in on the stroke of 70 minutes to clinch a great win for the team

So another domestic treble but the UCL win was the one we wanted and thoroughly deserved after fighting our way to the final and smacking United around for the best part of an hour

But the big question, how did Buitink fair this year

IMG_4767.thumb.PNG.eddd1e0758e6a29eadebd4edf3830809.PNG

His stats looking mighty impressive, although would like a pacier striker if I'm honest, but green in all the right places otherwise

Now @Real_Random predicted 60 goals this year, and........

IMG_4768.thumb.PNG.e3060e54ec6c0befaea4347580db36e4.PNG

sadly I let him down, only 53 (I mean his best return yet, but struggling to get him more prolific in front of goal, but then he is still only 21 so plenty of time yet)

Thomas Buitink

Games Played: 264

Goals Scored: 240

Goals Remaining: 760

So we are getting there slowly and I truly beleive (save some career ending injury) he can do it, but would like to see some higher numbers next year

Here's the rest of the season info (including a triple award winning one for Buitink)
