Season 9

OK guys after a short delay due to my (pathetic) efforts in the CC semi finals I'm back with not 1 but 2 seasons to update you on with my Main Man Thomas Buitink and his mission to net 1000 goals

These will be quick updates so lets get too it

Transfers

One lonely player joining the squad this year in the form a new CD Kiki

Only two players leaving for profit with Dendoncker and Lori leaving to make room in the squad, the rest were unwanted graduate players and a few out of contract guys, it's a shame to de de Jong leaving but the guy is awesome and anyone in the market for a solid TM should look at this guy

Domestic

We start with a small win over rivals Ajax to clinch another Dutch Supercup (seriously they should just hand them over now)

Another undefeated season and another league title

And a Buitink hat-trick grabs us our 9th consecutive domestic treble

Europe

A brace from Buitink clinches the Euro Supercup as we dominate Napoli 

Clean sweep in the groups stages once again and we move on to the knockout rounds

First up we face Arsenal and we win both games 1-0 and move on to the quarter finals to face another EPL team in Man U

The first leg ends 2-2 and we had the away goal advantage, but a single goal from Buitink seals the deal and PSV head to the UCL semifinals to face Portuguese team SLB

A close game over two legs saw us edge out SLB thanks to a brace from Buitink and PSV once again head into the UCL Final, this year we face Juventus 

And two late goals seal the deal and PSV are Crowned UCL Champions once again

CWC

We also seal the deal in the CWC thanks to a convincing 4-0 win over COR

So another fantastic season for the boys, winning all competitions 

As for Buitink, he had another solid season, but did miss a little bit of time

Only 3 weeks, but then that becomes 4/5 before he's fighting fit again

Here's how the lads stats look at the end of the year

Lots of solid stats for a striker, his Aerial is atrocious and I'd like him a bit quicker, but thats what the players around him are for, and you can see by his form he's been doing well

goes 1 goal better than last season and in 7 less games, but still shy of the 60 mark, but he's getting closer and he's only just about to turn 25, so plenty of time yet

Buitink by far and away the top scorer, and nobody really stealing too many goals away from him, which is a bonus

But he's still a little too selfless and laying on the assists, but I'll see what I can do about that next season

One of my young AP's Bel Hassani wins the Dutch YPOTY beating out team mate Kerk

Buitink clinches the Dutch POTY once again

and I think I won the MOTY but forgot the screenshot

So another solid season from Buitink and the boys, but there is one more thing I would like to share that had me simultaniously scratching my head and laughing out loud 

How the hell can you get a 1 rating, and as a sub, he couldn't have played more than 20 minutes and managed to get a 1 LOL, and he wants to know why he's a sub

Season 10

So lets crack on

Transfers

Made some big investments this season, bringing in Stambouli as a new starting CM, Giorico and Devesa as my new CD pair, Markarov as a decent backup LW and Segura as a young GK prospect

Same story as last year, players not getting there way get sold, and then it's unwanted graduates and players out of contract

So with some fresh blood and a slightly fresher approach how did Buitink and the team do this season

Domestic

Once again we open the season giving those Ajax dogs a beating and claiming the Dutch Supercup for PSV thanks to a brace from Buitink

Another undefeated season and we walk the league once again (seriously guys it's getting embarrassing now)

Another brace from the main man helps us seel another Domestic treble and PSV are unbeatable in Holland

Europe

Buitink once again the hero as a brace from him (plus a missed penalty) sees PSV reclaim the Euro Supercup, this time Sevilla 

A much tougher group this year, but after an opening game loss to Man City, we win the remaining 5 games and end the group stage on top, 

We move on to the knockout stage to face Sporting

Two tough games, but we prevail 1-0 winners in both games and move on to the quarterfinals to face Liverpool

After an amazing 4-1 win away, we thought we could cruise the return leg, but Liverpool gave us a fight, the leg ends 2-3 but thanks to our strong win in the first game we end the quarterfinals as 6-4 winners, and move on to the semis to face German Giants Bayern

Who took the first game 0-1, but the boys had a different plan and crushed them 3-0 (almost 5) and PSV are once again heading to the UCL Final

Our opponents this year, none other than Arsenal (really, OK)

Who got truly spanked and we walk away with the UCL cup thanks to a 4-0 win

CWC

A Buitink Hat-trick seals the deal in the CWC final

So another season of total dominance winning everything we could, but the important question is how did Buitink do

He managed to stay injury free this year (save a couple of days here and there), his stats still look amazing

And I gave his contract a boost so that should keep him happy for another 4 seasons 

And he finally broke the 60 mark, netting 63 in 49, so only 5 more goals in 3 more games but still it's the right way

So almost half way now, need him to pick up before his stats start to take a hit, but should still have 5-6 good seasons left before they become too much of an issue

Wener played very well from the Bench this year and is a true striker, and Iwobi grabbed a few as well, but Buitink could still do more

He was a lot more selfish this year giving up only 5 assists compared to 14 last year, Hernandez takes the crown with 17 assists from the LB position, with Havertz coming a close 2nd with 16 assists from the CM position

Buitink once again is named WPOTY

My new CM Stambouli claims the Dutch YPOTY award

Buitink is named Dutch Player of the year for the 10th season in a row, with Iwobi coming in a distant second

And it's another MOTY for moi

So there we are guys all caught up, I'm just finishing off another season in my "Premier Honours" attempt and then thanks to my humiliating loss in the CC semi finals, I can come straight back to try and hit 70+ with Buitink

Great job getting the goal ratio up, surely only a matter of time before he pushes through 70 and higher!

I was starting to think it was going to go down to the wire (I know that's a big call to make this far away!), but I went and looked at Armstrong's 1KC. By the time he was 25 his top season was 58 goals (in 57 games). Then he got 70 and 81 and it was onwards to 1000. So I'm betting that Buitink will improve similarly and sail right past 1000 and Armstrong. ?

Season 11

So Buitink hits his highest tally to date last year, but that was still only 63, need to be getting more out of him, (especially when you see how well people like @AzmiG26 and @setiawanjimmy are doing with their 1K carrers)

So I'll see what I can do, but don't hold your breath

Javier Rodriguez comes in as my new GK, and Daniels and Augusto come in as two back up CB's

Jetro Willems leaves the club after many many great seasons, but he wasn't getting the games anymore so he made way for a little bit of profit, the rest were unwanted graduates

Buitink starts the season off and Ramselaar joins him in netting the goals in our opening game of the year, and the Dutch Supercup is once again heading to Eindhoven 

Another great season, conceding only 5 goals in 34 games, but going the other way we needed to do more, but we left Ajax in the dust

AZ once again suffer a 2-0 loss, this time thanks to a brace from super backup Werner, and PSV complete another domestic treble 

Europe

We start our Euro adventure with the Euro Supercup game against FCP

And we knock them back with a 3-1 win and claim the Euro Supercup

Breeze through the group stages with a 100% winning record and only conceded 2 goals in the 6 games (But I was curious to see the score between Olympique Lyonnais and Seville as I noticed the French side were 4-0 up at half time,

but then when I looked it ended 4-3.  The thing that made me look twice wasn't the fact that Mateta scored 4, it's the fact he's managed to score 2 in the same minute, WHAT!!!!

We progress to the Knockout rounds, first up Swiss club Sion

And a hat-trick (a rare hat-trick) from Buitink seals a great 5-1 agg score and we progress to the Quarterfinals to face Liverpool

The Away game goes our way with a 2-0 win and we hold them to a 0-0 draw at home and progress to the semifinals to face Bayern

The away game ends in a 2-2, but we hold out and see them off 2-1 at home and we progress as always to the UCL final to face Man City

An early bath for Denayer and a brace from Iwobi seals the deal and PSV walk away once again as UCL champions

CWC

Iwobi and Buitink combine for 3 goals to see of Cruz Azul and seal the CWC once again

So lets see how Buitink season went, he missed some time with injury 

Over two months but the one thing I couldn't complain about this year was his form

In all the games he played this year he had only 1 game without a goal, but as you can see it was too many single goals with the hat-tricks and braces coming way to far and inbetween

His stats still look amazing 

But with the two months out and too many 1 goals a game he didn't fair much better than usual 

54 goals in 41 games, if only he kept fit he might have finally hit the 70 mark

So we get over the halfway mark, but it's taken way too long to get here and I'm afraid this could be the beginning of the end for my 1K attempt, along with the events that start next season.

Season 12

So last update I mentioned that something was happening that might ruin this 1K attempt and here it is

Buitink wants out and there are big offers coming in for him, now @setiawanjimmy had the right idea in moving club and bringing your star with you, (and a GENIUS way of doing that), however the only decent jobs that came up came half way through the season, so I didn't apply as I didn't want to waste 2/3 months waiting for the transfer window to open and missing crucial goals with Buitink, and then possibly not getting him.  But if the next season doesn't pan out too well, I might just bite the bullet and try to move

So lets see how the season went

Only one player in this year, Neves comes in to replace the truly amazing Emre Can, who's now 34 and not getting any younger

One player out, my young AP Bel Hassani leaves for Hoffenheim for a decent £15M, the rest older players out of contract and a lot of unwanted graduates 

So lets see how the team did this season

Forgot to screenshot the score but we faced Ajax and walked away 3-1 winners

A huge season this year winning the league with 10 games to go and getting 24 wins out of 24 at this point

We couldn't get the perfect season drawing our last game against Go Ahead Eagles but still hugely impressed by the boys, dropping only 2 points the whole season and only conceding 7 goals in 34 games

A single Buitink Goal seals the Dutch Cup and the Domestic Treble for PSV

Europe

We begin again with the Euro Supercup match, this time we face Chelsea and once again I forgot to screenshot the game but we won 2-1

We top the group stage after seeing off Napoli, Mainz and CSM Poli, and PSV are thought to the knockout stages once again, up first AC Milan 

Two tough games end in 1-1 draws but we prevail on penalties and move on to the quarterfinals to face Real Madrid

But after holding Madrid to a 0-0 draw at home they struck twice in 4 minutes and that was enough to seal our fate, and we are knocked out of the UCL for the first time in a long while

CWC

We did win the CWC, but should have been much more convincing than we were

So Buitink played well(ish) this season, even if his morale has gone between low and ok most of the year

His stats still look good, but his value has dropped and with his contract out in two seasons, I don't think I'm going to be able to make him stay and If I can't get a job at another club and move Buitink with me the challenge is over

Managed 60 goals in 50 games, but were still over 400 away from the 1000 target and unless I come up with something to make him score 225 goals a season I'm screwed

I guess this is the danger of these challenges in a smaller league. You must have a top reputation with everything you have won so maybe a job at a club that can afford him will come up and move the challenge onto a different country.
