What is the point of the betting odds on game i.e. Home 1/6 Draw 5/2 Away 6/1?

Something I would love to see would be odds for winning competition's with the chance of getting the odd newsflash in game saying something something along the lines of 'One lucky punter has won £50,000 after backing Leicester to win the Premier League at odds of 5000/1.

They're just to give you a rough idea of who is the favourite. Btw they're not actually betting odds, the odds used in game are much more realistic. The likelihood of Leicester winning the league was much greater than 5000/1, but the bookies go with absurd odds to entice people into placing bets.

I've always thought of it as the rough odds if the game were to simulate the match.
