Update  Sept:

We had our Champions Cup group drawn and suprise suprise we drew PSG for 2nd year in a row.. Not an easy group like last year each game should be tough with talented teams..The board agreed to upgrade the stadium and it went from 25k to 28k not a huge upgrade but its more fans.

"We are ready to finally start our 2nd season with the transfer window closed. I went into the window looking for a starting LWB, depth at CD and to add a natural ST/CF ... That was the plan but with our success came complications mainly in the form of unhappy players who used our successful season to try to force moves to bigger clubs or wanted higher wages not caring where they played. I tried to satisfy the players with face to face meetings but once a couple decided there was no way they were staying it created a whole domino effect that threw our transfer plans into chaos. R.Soriano and M.Trigueros demanded to leave so I had to sell them to get funds to buy replacements. Barcelona and Real Madrid then made huge buys in the transfer market which the board reacted to and wanted more quality as we were going to lose a few more players and couldn't afford to fall too far behind the top clubs. It was then a circle of buying talent then selling talent to replenish funds. There were a couple suprise players made available for transfer cheap that we couldn't pass up especially A.Belotti, Y.Poulsen, and A.Traore .. In the end the squad was replenished with each departure and we filled our needs of natural ST/CF , depth at CD , starting LWB and new CM replacements for suprise departures. Here's the summary of the chaos and hopefully we're strong enough to compete with Real Madrid and Barcelona in LaLiga , and have enough depth for long European run and to withstand injuries. The Submarine will keep on going no matter the challenges!!!"

Quick Update:

Not too bad of a start in the league tied for 1st. In Europe we had a horrible start with losses to Dortmund and Ajax before finally getting 3 points and a W vs PSG which kept us within striking distance in 4th place but only 1 point behind Ajax and Dortmund in 2nd and 3rd.. Now I never expected this from A.Belotti as he has been under performing big time . Seemed Belotti and Paulson were going to unseat last years leading scorer V.Berisha but Berisha has outperformed them both keeping the team scoring leader title . I hope the team can gel as it's early on and don't think our position at #1 can be held if top players have any slumps. GK Asenjo has been off also letting in some weak/easy goals that he had no problem with last year. 

V.Berisha has been on fire for us and picking up the slack with Belotti slumping .

Lots of changes and I guess that shows with some inconsistent form. Squad looks top quality on paper though, so you should be real silverware contenders as the season progresses.

Squad looks indeed pretty good, great job there!

But I'm a little concerned looking at your last screenshot with results. 4 "tougher" home games all ended in victory but then all 5 "easier" away games in no win at all, 2 draws 3 losses.

Maybe apply a couple tweaks, an "away" formation or go a little more defensive away from home.

Yeah I always get caught up in transfers as I usually find a bunch of cheaper highly rated players and just can't pass em up. I do forget it messes with form, happiness etc with lots of rotation but those cheap ones and free agents/Bosman players just hard to pass up..

I did take your advice going foward and changed up tactics/ formations with some success but LaLiga play this year I'm doing worse no matter what tactics. It could be my midfield which I think has depth this year but 2/3 starters are worse than last years in terms of quality. I also notice on reports that I can have way more shots, shots on target , and clear cut chances yet still lose leading me to believe my GK Asenjo is just not cutting it anymore.. 

The changes have helped some but injuries have also struck harder this year with key players being out for month at a time Berisha, Belotti, Poulsen, Bayal, and Mario were all out so far. I don't wanna lower training to where you hardly have injuries as I like them for realistic purposes and it challenges your teams depth ...

I know what you mean. With Aberdeen my striker hit 30 goals last season and I have tonnes of attacking midfielders when I only really use one, but Phillips, Cairney, and Rhodes were all available on frees which is just too good to turn down.

Year 2 Quick Update:

 

Transfer Window:

-Dimata, Traore, Zivkovic, Jensen and Riedewald all were loaned back immediately 

- Ruiz and Castillejo were both unhappy and Cheryshev was extra player and price was right . 

- With the Bosmans for next season I focused on improving the midfield and got a mix of 3 young and veteran help ..

 

 

After all the deals I still have $35m leftover which is nice to hold onto for next year . I have been following my own rule of staying under $20m for any one player so I'm dealing in bulk not huge names.. 

Could be tough qualifying thru LaLiga as this year most top teams are in good form. Spanish Cup or winning the current Champions Cup could be best way for me this year.

YR2 March 10 Update:

LaLiga:

- Dropped off the title race and now trying to hold on to European spots. Top teams this year all in the running unlike last year when a couple finished outside top 8.

Spanish Cup:

-We made a great run and are trying to use this as our first silverware and route to Europe but we have a tough opponent in the final and of course its Barcelona who knocked us out of Champions Cup Final last year and are looking to win 2nd straight title.

-Upcoming Final vs Barcelona 

 

Champions Cup:

-Upcoming: (1-0 agg)2nd leg Home vs Sporting 

- Made nice run of 3 wins to finish group play and that led us from going bottom to top of group by end of stage. Sporting I hope can use 1-0 aggregate lead heading into 2nd leg .

Barcelona are my teams kryptonite , finishing 2nd to them in LaLiga and losing Champions Cup final last season. I hope they rest players for Cup final ...;) I was thinking the depth would work over long run as I did have injuries there were just too many draws/losses to teams I need to beat if I have any chance at a league title.

Yeah have to drop some plus others didn't sell had up for auction. So many of the young ins went back to team . So hard when got spend limit under $20m on single player and scouts bringing back world-class/superstars reports that are 16-18 and can afford them now.. updated the outs think summaries work best. Starting to get a bit too many as it's hard to find playing time and since most are hi potential they come with attitude if dropped to B team for playing time ..Think trying get as many superstars/world class report youngsters while Barca/R.Madrid pick up the $50m per player is only way to win . Hope the youngsters develop enough or I'm screwed ?

So you guys got any favorite players rooting for? Anyone don't wanna see go? Anyone should try for? I couldn't get Keita, Werner or Burke who I love using for under $20m... Might try a couple Americans being American kind of give me a bit more to root for as they go international competitions..

-Long time between like normal careers basically 2-3 updates a year

-more updates plus info in updates like Manager quotes/takes , b team info , rest of World transfers , different graphics/pics etc ? 

-transfer window and preseason /end season separate updates? 

Tried many different ones from different angles and sizes but no idea which is the best for readers ? Sometimes too much info n readers overlook stuff like stats etc .. Too little info and don't get a feel as to teams direction and what actually happened that season ...

. One last style is do you like hearing from manager at all? Or just the info keep it simple ? Or thinking outside observers like BeIn Sports or columnist perspective/comments on transfers, manager , board, fans throughout the year ???

So lmk what u prefer just go back couple pages and seee different styles

Group Draw:

-"Great draw for us to move thru to knockout rounds. Can't believe PSG is not in our group after being drawn together the last 2 years in the group stage. We have one player on loan at Moscow who won't be able to play vs us but can get experience when Moscow plays the two other opponents."

 

Results:

"-Well we lucked out on this draw with Moscow only team I will start regular team . It's nice to have a couple games to let some backups/reserves/youth to get some starts. Unlike many other leagues we only have one cup and the top teams enter with only a few rounds left . Some leagues 2-3 cups and have top teams enter early on so they can get backups/youth a lot more playing time. I try to demote some to B team but they are too talented and get unhappy thinking they should be promoted to A team. So it's nice to have a connected youth squad but it's also a problem as I can't fire coach, pick lineups and make sure team playing same way as A team .. "
