Career The Reborn of Sir Alex

Hello everyone! I know it is rather late to start a career but I really wanted to do the SAF challenge. If you want to know more about it, feel free to visit @Risheek SAF challenge page for the details as I don't want to bore yall. So lets get started!

THE STORY

"What do you want to be when you grow up, my boy? A pilot? A doctor? Or a lawyer?" This was my grandpa's favourite topic when I was little. Though he knows about my interest in football, he has often said that there is no future for a Singaporean kid like me in the football world, especially since I could barely kick a ball at the age of 5. However, the ambitious young devil in me insists that I have the potential to carve out a career like that of Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes and Rio Ferdinand and so I trained and I trained hard and I trained to my hardest!

Until one day, I fell,
Hard,
Broken.

The doctor ruled me out of all forms of sports.

I was devastated! My mind went blank and my heart stopped completely for a second!

"WHAT DO I DO??? I ONLY WANT TO PLAY FOOTBALL! WHY CAN'T I DO IT???"

It took me some time to settle down but at last I did and I moved on as quickly as I could.

20 years later

My dream of playing football did not end and so I decided to take up management (maybe I can become the next SAF??). Fortunately, I passed my coaching exams and found myself an assistant coach at Hearts in Scotland (OOOOO SAF started at Scotland too) in no time! But Hearts were not playing well and the board decided to terminate the contract of the manager. After serious deliberation, the board decided to give me a shot, after all what harm can I do? Right?

I immediately started work and had to work out what will make this club successful.

THE JOURNEY

Heart_of_Midlothian_FC_logo_svg.thumb.png.1e5978a29a05a7e42138f6c04ae664e0.png

So Mr Mil Salohcin starts his journey as manager of the mighty Hearts of Midlothian! Will he even last a season? Can he replicate Sir Alex? Only time can tell

Had a couple of loans and 1 transfer made with the limited funds I was given. (Sorry I forgot to take a screenshot before I went to the second season).

Having limited time in the Scotland part of the career, I had to get the Scottish Cup onto my hands in the 1st season or else the career will be over.

Now, frankly i struggled with the team from the start because they just could not score enough to win and I was on the verge of giving up. But what kept me going was this young lad called Jamie Walker in the team. Everytime, we were trailing, he would jump out of nowhere and score a goal out of nothing, bringing the passion back into me! From the screenshot, you can see that we recovered from the initial lack of goals and managed to climb up to 2nd place (of course behind the dreaded Celtic team that ran away with the title) Screenshot_20170901-003840.thumb.png.eddab1f85cae7354307d3dbd9f2b8301.png

Now that the league is out of the way and Hearts didn't win it, there is still one more shot at silverware as we lost the Betferd Cup to Celtic as well. So did Hearts manage to clinch the Scottish Cup?

Screenshot_20170901-003832.thumb.png.01c84012171893dec68a2c6dd9f22b3a.png

OH YASSS WE DID IT IN STYLE!!! We dominated the match and came away with a 2-0 win over relegated Inverness CT! Well done lads!

Screenshot_20170901-004233.thumb.png.25f6b29f37fd2333ec508e9dbdd3fa5d.png

So this is how my stats look after 1 season and i have to say in happy with it!

Well, that's all i have for now, a rather good start to life at Hearts and will be looking for more silverware especially since I only have 4 years to collect them all! Below are the trophies that I have to collect and how many I have already collected! Hope I have not bored you guys to death and that yall will keep following this! Thanks for reading!

Walker seems pretty good in this game. Been trying to tempt him to join my Champions league Aberdeen side but the £12 m asking price is out of my depth. Testament to his quality I guess. This career looks interesting, will be following.

Well 12M is a fair price for him but i guess its simply because hearts do not want to sell their key player. Thanks for following!

I would scramble the funds together to sign him because he's Scottish (I like to sign homegrown players) and I need a versatile attacking midfielder to finish off my transfer business. But at this stage in the save he's 27 so is unlikely to have much of a resale value by the time the club outgrows him. However Hearts just got knocked out of Europe so hopefully he kicks up a fuss before deadline day and I can scrape a cheeky bargain.

SEASON 2

Sorry for the long interval! But I'm back with more news on how this challenge has progressed! Of course, going into Season 2, I have to act fast and mould the team into one that will win trophies and titles! So my target was to win the league, the Scottish Cup and maybe the Euro Cup, which will tick off 1 major obstacle in this reborn.

Without further ado, let's see what has happened this season!

Unfortunately, we still did not have much funds for transfers, soooo the only way out was to sell some key players and I had to part with Callum Patterson, our best right back and possibly the best player at the club, for 6 million, quite a tidy sum for a young lad from Scotland. Also got rid of Gavin Reilly who wasn't going to get much game time as we had top strikers already at the club. Also bought some players like Frommann and Fohrenbach as backups and many other players on frees. Great transfer season I should say!

Screenshot_20170902-232943.thumb.png.c735473873970e74d2091654ed0f4fc6.png

Moving on, let's discuss the league. We have 2 especially irritating opponents that are irritiatingly rich and irritatingly good in the form on Rangers (sorry Risheek) and Celtics! So how did we fare with them in the league?

Screenshot_20170904-234311.thumb.png.575a0283b58b9f13d9b3f632f1dc593b.png

HEARTS ARE THE CHAMPSSS!!! Well, we more or less dominated from start to finish. Started off very well and established a good lead so we just had to push with a little more momentum and we won it! Alot of credit goes to the lads, a young team, but they showed me passion and showed me why they deserved a place in the starting 11!

Of course, we have to look at the 2 domestic cups we were involved in- the Scottish Cup and the Betfred Cup. Can Hearts grab the domestic treble from right under the nose of Celtics???

Screenshot_20170904-234533.thumb.png.7eb622520e1f5ef3b268dadc77c35051.pngScreenshot_20170904-234243.thumb.png.72c7114b9a5204dacf897befcfd58092.png

YES AGAIN HEARTS HAVE DONE EXTREMELY WELL!!! They clinched the domestic treble at the first attempt! Come on lads! (We beat Celtics in the semi-finals of the Scottish Cup btw) Though we struggled to come out against Raith, we put our faith in the footbal gods and they gave us the trophy!

Now now now, y'all must be thinking, what about the Euro Cup that SAF won with Aberdeen? Can I do as well as him?

Screenshot_20170904-233613.thumb.png.d60e0f30a766174371748b806e9c0006.png

AND THAT'S THE QUADRUPLE! A clean sweep of all available trophies for the team! What a season! The red cards really changed the game but the main game changers have to be Zlatan, Fellaini and Herrera. They shockingly missed all the penalties and practically gave us the trophy!

So there it is! 4/4 trophies from this season! Fantastic second season, got the transfers that I wanted and got the trophies that I wanted and a little bonus as well!

SCOTLAND
1/3 DOMESTIC LEAGUES
2/4 DOMESTIC CUPS
1/1 LEAGUE CUPS
1/1 EUROPA LEAGUE
0/1 EUROPEAN SUPER CUP

Seems like we are almost done with Scotland! Just need 2 more league titles, 2 more cups and 1 more European Super Cup! Of course the Super Cup will be a problem because if I do not win it next season (and I have an awfully tough opponent, make a guess if you want!???), I have to find a way to drop to third place in the CL group stage and win the Euro Cup again since the CL is too hard for Hearts to win as of now. But this will be for the next update.

Hope y'all enjoyed this and thanks for reading!

As long as it suits you, as Risheek said this challenge can get a bit dull after a few seasons in the EPL, so if you end up with just quick updates then thats cool, but it is a very good way to write the updates

SEASON 3

Alright guys, shall not keep y'all waiting any longer! Welcome to the third season of Sir Alex's Reborn!

Screenshot_20170909-040053.thumb.png.a04c439ba794b7dc23f4ef72b71171f2.pngScreenshot_20170909-040109.thumb.png.7f64e3576c7bcf4278f4e55f81fcb5dc.png

First of all, the transfers. Not alot of ins because the squad is already pretty robust from the last transfer window. Added Brannagan from Liverpool and sold Martin so that I won't experience a central midfield overload.

Next, we have the Euro Super Cup to win! But we gotta look at our opponents first! Oh look gracious me! It's MSN powered Barcelona!!! But how did we fare against this club?

Screenshot_20170905-095601.thumb.png.f5bbf41bf3a93507c6c7331684325d47.png

AN UNREAL RESULT! We took our chances and won the match courtesy of Walker's penalty! This win has made my final 2 seasons much simpler since we do not need to focus on international cups anymore for this section.

This season, Hearts are in the Champions League and that means tough games, real tough games! We have Juve, AS Monaco and CSKA Moscow in our group, not exactly the group of death but still has the ability to kill. Screenshot_20170906-210339.thumb.png.582177d17052134760571e9f6a07aa58.png

Well, somehow we managed to finish second!!! Hurray!!! We are moving on the the knockout rounds!

And here we face an English club that I'm starting to love, Tottenham!

Screenshot_20170908-135956.thumb.png.9ae357b1d3caf13ed90bae159ed9f95b.png

Managed to hold them to a draw in the home match but collapsed in the return leg. But I'm still very happy with the team's progress! Good job guys!

Unfortunately, we lost the Betfred Cup to St Johnstone but we made it up byyyyyy

Screenshot_20170909-035824.thumb.png.efcbaf38d9adb9dbf18d8dad909a4fe8.png

WINNING THE SCOTTISH CUP AGAIN!!! WOOHOOOO! Very very close match with 6 goals in total. But we prevailed after a penalty shootout!

And by the way, we won the League as well but I forgot to screenshot it.

Now let's look at some of our key players.

Screenshot_20170909-043011.thumb.png.c36099f0e77f519cbfc52c058a4d087c.png

Galan came in on a free transfer and tore up the pitch with his versatile runs and goals!

Screenshot_20170909-043016.thumb.png.b95f47fd54607093d077932909177501.png

McGeehan became a very useful backup for Walker and I was forced to give him a run in the first team due to his consistent efforts.

Screenshot_20170909-043022.thumb.png.8a017aa0577d5401ebb0ed3e79a01c6e.png

This talented goalkeeper cemented his place as the first team keeper and was rather consistent considering his young age.

Screenshot_20170909-043029.thumb.png.1ea42944d9ea353262f68e6a994e8595.png

Billy O' Billy used his wing plays and crosses to assist our striker and attacking midfielders in the box.

Now time for some manager stats!

Below is the fixture list

Nice to see McGeehan doing well as a Norwich fan. You're certainly motoring through these seasons, which is wise because you don't want the save to go stale.

SEASON 4

The final season in Scotland has come upon us and it has gone rather smoothly. So here is the update!

Once again, I received quite a tidy sum of transfer funds and sold Souttar. Souttar was great for us but not alot of lads like him in the squad so off he goes. Brought in cheap gems like Pizarro and Philipp who will cost a bomb to future buyers. Also sold couple of deadwood who just could not fight their way into the team.

Screenshot_20170917-002448.thumb.png.796de1e53e8f83dee2c955a578b7fa6c.pngScreenshot_20170917-002521.thumb.png.e802e92938254901c89b5e1b38af88c8.png

Next, we are 1 league title and 1 Scottish Cup away from graduating from the Scotland side of the challenge. So how did we do?

Screenshot_20170917-000549.thumb.png.9d25c3785e3d03e8cac58dc7ffb1cedf.png

BINGOOOOO!!! We practically ran away with the title! The title already belonged to us before the championship group split began. Amazing job by the boys!

As for the Scottish Cup, well, it didn't go very smoothly in the beginning.

Screenshot_20170917-002024.thumb.png.0fa3adc0e5f12596ed4daf094a457ef9.png

But we won it!!! Smashed in 2 first half goals and Sviatchenko's goal only proved to be a consolation! Another job well done by the boys.

Okay, I know we do not need to win this anymore but we did

Screenshot_20170917-002323.thumb.png.abd392075b6ba9143e0f5084545cc88e.png

Yeap! We won the Betfred Cup again with a Pizarro hat-trick! Told you he is a gem!

However, we did have our fair share of setbacks.

Screenshot_20170917-002206.thumb.png.66aec711ad45afb7b1faaf60d0b66727.png

We fought hard in the UCL but ultimately fell to the bottom in the group with 4 draws! Dammit! If only those draws could turn into wins, we would have gone to the next round...

Below are the trophy winners for the season with Hearts claiming 3 trophies! Screenshot_20170917-002917.thumb.png.c874b4b9a19d9f5689e806a607b7a291.png

Screenshot_20170917-002924.thumb.png.8119d40b1f96e5e9b9170a29861cf280.png

And these are our stand-out performers for the season.

Screenshot_20170917-002305.thumb.png.bce0ac56c8efe33c277bfb5c82e0b239.png

Avlonitis has been with the squad since I came in and his consistent has brought us to consecutive league titles!

Screenshot_20170917-002220.thumb.png.113509a48c41635fc6b01623770bdad4.png

So this kid who cost 3.5M is now worth so much! And look at those greens! A real beast he is becoming!

And these are my stats!

With a manager profile as good as that you can go in at any Premier League team! Wouldn't mind seeing you go for an outsider though, enhances the story.

SEASON 5

Finally got the time to finish this update! It is going to be my last one because of the death of the save.

So as y'all already know, I have left Hearts and am waiting for the 19th place job in England. I guess I was pretty lucky because the club that I saw on 6th November was a top top club!Screenshot_20170917-003609.thumb.png.e8235e1b6b29a6ff0b778ab8cbda6f02.png

Yeap! It is Leicester City. After their heroic title charge in the 2015-2016 season, they have hovered around 6th and 7th place even with the massive amounts of investment. However, this season proved to be catastrophic and they lay in 19th place with only 1 win after 10 games.

The board, upon seeing that a world class manager like myself is out of job, quickly offered the job to me and I was employed even before January.

Screenshot_20170917-004050.thumb.png.8bf9c4655effa3faa22cff2c8e476c1a.png

Plenty of money to play around with and so off I go! My journey has begun!

Screenshot_20170918-150721.thumb.png.15a4ad50d63277ee804573eca3f8c71d.png

Unfortunately, they sold St Juste before I could come into the squad so that's one key player gone. The squad was so thin on depth that I had to make an emergency signing of Philip Lahm who still had decent stats at age 36. Depay was available on a free so I signed him on a pre-contract and he was fantastic in the second season but sadly that save is now gone. You might also notice that I have signed Patterson, a player I sold at Hearts to bring in funds for other players. The signings all did very well except Levi Garcia who just could not fit into the squad or maybe he needed more time for development.

Now, for the league. Languishing at 19th place 1 week before Christmas, I wasn't expecting much, but the board wanted EURO Cup qualification. And so I did just that!Screenshot_20170918-150701.thumb.png.0ad18bbce139dd923f9d68ca8254e1e9.png

Managed to squeeze into EURO Cup playoffs so yeah mission accomplished for the season I guess!

The FA Cup did not go in our favour at all!

Screenshot_20170918-150808.thumb.png.7578d65ddd3908377cb816b84bce9914.png

We faced a difficult match-up and though we had more shots, we just could not break their defence down! So out of the cup we go!

Oh wait! Did I say we qualified for EURO Cup?
