Career Peter Hinds attempt

Hey all. I don't like attempting challenges as they don't immerse me into a "world" but I had a couple days off so I decided to give the Peter Hinds challenge a shot. It was a simple, single season challenge that worked within my time constraints. Plus, I've never done a challenge and wanted to make sure I wasn't missing anything. So let's get right into it.

I wanted to surround Hinds with creative players and Arsenal has them in spades so that was my club of choice. I also poached Willian to help out with fielding several APs around the goal.

I had some difficulty getting Hinds the shots but, after some experimentation, I settled on this setup as it seemed to get him 3-5 shots per game.

We were off to a flying start. Hinds knocked in 11 goals in the first 15 games!

These were the best games - that penalty was also the only penalty he would score until the last game of the season, which means he had 10 open play goals in 15 games...I was flying!!!

But then...........

He stopped scoring! Literally! His stats kept stable but he couldn't get a goal to save his life! Missed 3 PKs in a row (until that lonely PK goal at the end) and had two goals disallowed! Unlucky.

Even in an open game like this, he couldn't get a shot on goal!

So yeah. I started hot but finished cold!

Here are some other things that happened.

When Hinds wasn't playing, I kept the same formation except I played Giroud and Welbeck as TM and AP in all other tournaments and they lit the world on fire!! We won everything except the PL!!

It also wouldn't be an Arsenal save without a Cazorla injury...

And we had a right-back injury crisis for a while.

And lastly, this was our best scoring match!

So yeah, here ends my first (and quite possibly last) challenge attempt. I felt like I was flying through the game without paying attention to anything. Even results ultimately didn't matter as long as Hinds was scoring. Not really my preferred way to play.

This was definitely a season of two halves and a bit too little luck. 3 missed PKs and 2 disallowed goals wouldn't put me at the top but they would've made me feel a bit better about how it ended. 

And now I'll go back to my sleepy paced El Ejido save and our first attempt at a European trophy. See you all there!

Unlucky mate! When I do goalscoring challenge, of course, the results don't matter too much as long my player score a brace or hattrick.

Don't let this be your last challenge. We learn a great deal from these sort of challenges where one focuses on specific players defs, mids, strikers or specific formation, or working with limitations, lack of funds, weak players etc etc. I can tell you I've learnt a lot from these over the years.

Maybe you don't enjoy them as much but they help you grow 

Still 12 gls for a 54yo is madness. Never gonna happen or.. Ronaldo maybe?

12 goals is a really good effort and especially if it was your first time doing a goal scoring challenge as it's such a different way to play. Looking forward to the next El Ejido update as well?

Great effort mate! I'm not game to try it as I'm sure I'd manage about 6! ?

Interesting his Leadership stayed at 13 whereas it dropped to 5 in another save (at Man City). I guess maybe it's because Arsenal have no real leaders! ?

I think this was my biggest problem.  Normally I would continue tinkering with the tactics but they worked so well in the first half, I kind of froze up and didn't know what to change.
