Help Player/Coach Problem

@Alari @Jack Joyce Advice please

I am managing Met Police at the moment...Currently lying top of League One, but that is another problem for another day

I signed Stewart Downing to a non-player role, it said he retired immediately from playing.

Yet I can view his playing profile and the fact I am paying him over 7 grand a week and is showing up in my transfer rumours...

Is it a bug, as I don't want to be paying a player/coach who does not actually play or appear in my squad page.

I have noticed it also with Tim Cahill, signed him as a coach, immediately retired from playing, but still got picked for Australia.

Is this a bug, if not, is there a way to put him in the team?
