This is all going in the right direction. Squad looks great and Colidio looks great.

Thanks mate, going in the right direction for sure, but I think it's going to need some corrections to the squad before too long, as per my comments to Taff... Still, that's what makes this fun!

Wow his stats shot up! Now I completely believe you'll get this across the line! He's continuing to improve and I'm sure those big seasons are coming! Wonderful write up and season Scratch!

Ermagawd how did u do this??? Requires incredible amt of luck man

Hehe, well two parts:

1. Once you get enough money to offer £350K wages, very few players turn that down
2. He obviously needs to not have signed a new contract by 30 Dec

No idea why he was stalling on his contract but once point 2 was taken care of, point 1 did the rest.. Not complaining! :D

Mind you, I really do worry he's not the right fit, so we'll have to wait and see whether it was a mistake. But free agents are my weakness. I have real trouble not signing them...

Thanks mate! Yeah, he's look like he has a touch of class about him. Not as much as some maybe, but more than most, and I think he'll rip the Scottish league to shreds in a few years. Looking forward to that! :D

Mind you, finally got that injury and he missed the first 4 games of the next season. Sort of relieved. Was thinking I'd have to fake an injury so you all didn't think I was cheating! LOL...

Congratz on breaking the one goal per game barrier mate.

Facundo's attributes are also coming along nicely now! He's sure to improve at least a little more when he peaks too. Scary!

Update - Season 6

Colidio has been showing promise (pushing past the goal a game mark), as has the team (finishing runners up in the Champions League). What will this season bring? 60 goals and the Champions League? One can hope!

Transfers, etc

We were given £124M this season. Let see what we did with it!

Spoiler

colidio-season06-46.png.879b4e541e2c27a9efe499ad11690802.png

colidio-season06-47.png.695c5c2bd5797fd21e19b585b94d373a.png

colidio-season06-48.png.ac3abc295aa8afe34433b91aafbf9ce7.png

There were two big stories this year: a) we signed Pogba as a free agent, along with Brandt and Dier; and b) we bought Coman for £150M plus a top player.

I'm not 100% sure signing Pogba is a good idea, as I suspect the goal to assist ratio will be the wrong way around, but ... well, he was free.

As for Coman, you can hardly go wrong with him in a 1KC, but I wasn't going to buy him. Pavon plays in the same position and he's doing a stellar job. Then Pavon got injured for a month, just before the January window closed, so ... Welcome Coman!

Spoiler

They wouldn't accept £150M, so I had to include a player as well. That turned out to be Santos da Silva, who I bought for £26M a few years back. As it happens i was looking to shift him anyway.

He originally looked like this:

colidio-season03-15.png

And this is what he looked like when I sold him:

colidio-season06-30.png.23bfcf2d07113f2e9454fbb2783ed8a2.png

Some attributes have increased, but the ones I wanted to be highest (Passing, Decisions, Dribbling) have actually decreased. He'd been a good player, but never provided a huge amount of assists and had fallen out of the team.

colidio-season06-31.png.6226f23e35743041b4a3d0c428a5a8b9.png

A bit sad to let him go, but his future was limited within the team.

Competitions

We won all the domestic competitions. We won the League on 6th Feb, which is pretty early! We'd won every game to that point, but we ended up drawing one and losing one. We had two red cards and a disallowed goal in the one we lost. I'm sure the ref was against us. We had a 116 goals for and 9 against, which was great, but form really dipped towards the end of the season.

colidio-season06-45.png.be3445bc76ae0c31d3d7d21213dcb2fb.png

In the Champions League, we breezed through the knockout rounds (5-1 over Juve, 7-0 over Man City, 8-2 over PSG) and it was looking like our year. Unfortunately our form dropped at the end of the season and Chelsea beat us 2-1 in the final (we had 18 shots to 2 mind you). Runners up twice in a row now. I won it twice in the first 3 years at Feyenoord, but much harder in this save.

Development

Colidio ended last season looking like this:

colidio-season05-56.png.5c93a5604eff42ef43f89bd94c6d16c1.png

And ended this season looking like this:

colidio-season06-52.png.0acf30e4def88e215b143cada89ea908.png

He's looking a decent player now. He still gets tired, but not as much as last year. Also, I find it encouraging that Colidio is one of Argentina's three best players (he must be good):

colidio-season06-15.png.9abe23b7492041c1a9eb0102fb3fcf04.png

Probably worth mentioning that he won his first World Player of the Year award:

colidio-season06-19.png.cf8f664be94021faf066e903355b6fd0.png

Injuries

After 3 injury free years, one finally arrived. Interestingly it wasn't his recurring shin injury which got him. He only missed 4 games, but the start of the season is when he's at his best.

colidio-season06-11.png.41e2892a2bd8591d2ba3c25e6a5fcf81.png

He continued to have a lot of of knocks where I had to sub him.

Goals

Colidio got a couple of quadruples this year (he does well against green teams):

colidio-season06-29.png.4bab0b5eb71497119d8ed431e43f8d7a.png

He scored 58 goals in 47 appearances:

colidio-season06-53.png.9f8bfa0e8dbf1d3cfee949920e059c19.png

He was looking like he was on track for 70, easy, but he slowed right down towards the end of the season. Still, it's a nice progression and I'm feeling good about the future.

Progress

Current Age (EOY) 22
Season Goals 58
Total Goals 249
Goals Remaining 751

The Future

Colidio is only 22 and I predict he will score a lot more in the next couple of years. He's only 1 goal shy of the quarter way mark, so I think we're doing okay!

Steady progress mate and like you said he looked like he'd hit around 70 without the injury so the future looks bright!

Those 20's :O

Thanks mate! I thought he'd be stuck at 18, was really happy to see him reach 20. Just wish he had better Physical attributes (like Eggy in his prime), but I guess you can't have everything! ?

Yeah, he's looking nice and I'm having to wear shades (to combat the bright future). ?

I reckon he's gonna do alright!

Why not?

Don't like ITN management! It was one of the reasons I gave up on the Hernandez 1KC, I wasn't having fun for a number of reasons, including ITN management...

Was planning to do this career without it at all. But... well they keep picking him for the national team. If they left him alone to have a break and stay fresh then I'd walk right past it, but maybe I'm better to take it and make sure he only plays in the soft games and rest him in the hard ones...

I'd take it, it's a boring bit to add but as you said you can pick him for the easy games and rest him up for the tougher games, plus you'd get to manage the likes of Aguero, Messi and co which might make it a bit fun, see how attacking you can make them

Sad to say, but Messi and Aguero are gone from the game... Although I did spot a young lad who looks a lot like Messi. Maybe I could pick him and see how he goes!

Anyway, I went ahead and took it. I guess I can always resign if I feel like it. But at this stage it's more helpful to take it than let someone else manage him internationally...

Update - Season 7

Things are looking promising, but we've completed 6 seasons and we're still waiting for Colidio to push through the 60 goal mark. He's only 22, but it's time for him to kill the boy and become the man.

Transfers, etc

Most of that action happened in January. We were a bit overloaded with talent (and adding more) and we had to make some hard decisions.

We sold Pogba for £66M, because he wasn't any better than our existing players in terms of assists and match ratings. His attributes were slightly better, but at 29 they'd likely start to drop soon (Hazard was done before he turned 31).

Harder to stomach were the sales of Sousa and Ajer, very good players who'd been with us a long time, but who just weren't going to get game time any more. Miss you guys!

Coming in were the regular bunch of young hopefuls (about 10 players - if a couple of them turn out, that's great) and Lemar. We really didn't need Lemar given the number of top class wide players we have, but unlike our current batch he was a) left footed, so could play as a Winger; and b) not someone who shoots first time!

Competitions

We won all the domestic competitions again. We won the Betfred Cup Final 4-0, but amazingly I realised (in the 89th minute) that we'd played the whole game with our backup left back playing as keeper! We couldn't quite go undefeated in the League, losing 1 and drawing 2, but we scored 121 goals which was nice.

Development

Colidio ended last season looking like this:

And ended this season looking like this:

colidio-season07-59.png.041e4d036424f308ed40b0fbf0a01491.png

You can see his defensive attributes have increased - that's because I put him on Intensive for Defensive for a while to try to improve his heading. Didn't really work...

My staff still love to criticize him, they make sure no one gets a big head around here:

colidio-season07-61.png.28277c748b2f74f685b4b3dc0c91cf80.png

The tiredness is almost gone now. Only had to rest him a few times.

Injuries

The season got off to a bad start with a month long injury in September, meaning he missed 9 games including some of the softest.

colidio-season07-15.png.738d81bb17a9f63732a442e4712e3338.png

Then he got injured playing for Argentina:

colidio-season07-40.png.cbdf6618031611bdad4dc5ea1e0110fe.png

Fortunately only a ghost injury, nothing after the game:

colidio-season07-41.png.f5f84829317b338ef43e40173f359bd0.png

The he got injured again during the Copa America and this time it was real (but only for 10 days):

colidio-season07-72.png.d3f332d53ed99ce9db9c77ebac3f2e4f.png

A bruised shin! Is this the mysterious recurring shin injury finally showing itself? Nope, turns out that's no longer being reported by the Physios. He got better, I guess. Don't get me wrong, that's great, but I sort of wish they'd told me that... I've been worrying about it for years.

Goals

Colidio got three quadruples this year:

Unfortunately our backup striker reached 5 goals before him!

Spoiler

colidio-season07-16.png.d67f07f4bbbd238e297302143b5854ef.png

But Colidio had the last laugh, with 6 goals later in the year:

colidio-season07-43.png.4b9edbda4801dd41320a7fcf5096a531.png

He scored 68 goals in 45 appearances:

colidio-season07-62.png.f5240f1bc610db6aee9d9c9786e98168.png

His ratio is superb! If I can get him up to 56+ games and maintain that ratio, we'll be laughing. He'll play more as he matures (starting now), so it's looking good.

ITN Goals

As I mentioned previously, I got the Argentina job in the off season.

Screenshot_20171025-001451.png

Argentina and England both went out of the World Cup in the second round and both managers were immediately listed as Very Insecure. Only one manager was fired and, luckily for me, it wasn't Gareth Southgate.

Colidio already had 9 ITN goals when I took over, so I'll need to subtract them in future:

colidio-season07-13.png.9d0e497eeb3f6f4ec60191aad4107a3a.png

By the time the Copa America finished in August), he'd gotten to 16 ITN goals, meaning another 7 for my tally.

colidio-season07-75a.png.f099426b7f499d5dfe7bac4bac2b6a39.png

Oh yeah, we won the Copa America at the first attempt:

Spoiler

colidio-season07-73.png.0cca56027f92887bd2644303ca31c95d.png

Progress

23 years old (EOY) Season Total
Club Goals 68 317
ITN Goals 7 7
Totals 75 324

The Future

Okay, he's looking the goods now and I'm going to want him to score 70 or 80 from here on in. Armstrong only scored 70 or more three times, but I think Colidio can do this every year and go way past him.

Thanks mate, yeah it's all coming together now. And that was a big part in taking the INT job, because they were playing him in every game and I wanted to pick the right ones.

I've gone to far now, can't back out of this one even though I'll miss the first month of FMM 2018. ?
