Hmm, maybe I've done it in a confusing way? 

As far as the total goals go, he's up to 75 ITN goals as per screenshot above, but I can only count 66 of them (he had 9 already when I got the ITN job). So 690 club goals plus 66 ITN goals = 756 goals in total.

For the season, he scored 9 ITN goals this year, as shown in the screenshots above (66 ITN goals on 3 July 2027, then 75 on 13 June 2028). So 80 club goals and 9 ITN goals = 89 total goals this season. I'm counting the 'season' from the last ITN game in the last off-season to the last game this off-season - that sometimes goes over the actual 'New season' event, so doesn't line up with the This Season ITN numbers in his player history.

Hope that makes sense. I guess it's confusing that number he scored this season (9) is the same as the number I can't count, so the numbers 66 and 75 and 9 show up meaning different things above.

Hmm... I haven't paid the player history any attention, just the total in the details section under his name, but now I look at it, it doesn't make sense at all.

The player history screenshot is from the same date as the 75 goal screenshot and it only shows 4 games and 5 goals, meaning I took both after the last ITN game. It's only June 13, so the new season event hasn't happened yet.

Yet the previous years screenshot showing 66 goals is from 3rd July, which would have been after the last ITN game that year. That's a week or so after the new season event, so at least one game i put towards last season was played in this season. That would have been the semi final (he was injured for the final) where he scored 2 goals:

So according to the difference in the detail section, he played 5 games and scored 9 goals, all of which happened this season. Then there is another game and 2 goals that happened this season but not counted in the details difference.

That makes 6 games and 11 goals this season. But only 4 games and 5 goals show up...

Which one is right? They can't both be right. I guess I have to go with the total in the details section? Or should I dock those extra 6 goals? Had this happened before?

Or am I the one missing something? It's almost 1am here... Maybe I've got something wrong?

@veerus I have a save from just before the new season. I only have the ITN fixtures from the second half of the season (the ones from the first half can no longer been viewed) but he has 7 goals in 3 games:

So that pretty clearly shows the total in the player history is wrong. Not sure how that happens, I guess I found a bug (just in a different version from where everyone else is finding bugs!).

Confusing stuff indeed. I don't know tbh. I always count along as I play ITN games so I know roughly what I have and what I'm supposed to have. This confusing is another reason to skip the national job

Yeah... I would have skipped it if I just could have talked them out of picking him all the time and wearing him out!

I think I will just trust in the total underneath his name (ie my current technique), as the player history is clearly wrong, as shown in the video above, but the total doesn't look out of line. If anyone thinks otherwise, let me know!

Yeah, I kind of assumed history was wrong when you mentioned the total on the player's stat screen.

@Alari @aligempf Don't know if it's like this in FMM18 but looks like we found a bug for you to kill.

Had a couple of weeks off, but started playing again recently... I've noticed that ITN Friendlies are not included in the ITN section for the current year on the Player History screen. So the player stats area up the top includes all ITN games including friendlies, while the player history section disregards the friendlies.

I think that probably explains the issue. I'm going to continue using the stats and counting ITN friendlies, as they are included in real life when we talk about how many caps and how many an ITN goals a player has. Someone let me know if we don't do that here though!

Update - Season 13

It's been a while since the last update due to a scouting trip to Fiji (not much in the way of players, but I made the most of the trip). Now we've knuckled down and refocused on our task - getting Colidio to 1K.

That target is obviously our main focus, but there's an ongoing side mission to reach 100 goals in a season. There is a certain Dutch journalist who regularly writes about Colidio's inability to reach this milestone (as though a total in the 90s is something to be ashamed of!). Will this be the year Colidio gets the monkey off his back?

This year saw the regular fine-tuning: Fringe players (including Pulisic) making way for some very promising youngsters.

Our two main assist providers through this whole career have been D'Acol Joaquim and Pavon, both of whom are on the wrong side of 30 and whose attributes are fading, so we're hoping some of our existing players will step up and take the mantle of main provider. If not, we may need to spend big next year.

 

Fun Fact - Argentinatown

We've all heard of Chinatown right? Well North London now has an Argentinatown...

Once again we won all the domestic competitions. In the league, we went 36-2-0 with 110 goals for (a bit low) and 3 against (what?).

The Chase For 100

Before we get to the international goal total, let's play through the Confederations Cup competition, where the chase for 100 went down to the wire... Note: as I've done all this save, I'm counting international games in the off season as part of the season just finishing, even if they are after the 'new season event/prompt'.

At the start of the Confederations Cup, Colidio had 86 club goals, plus 7 ITN goals, making a total of 93 goals for the season. Only 7 to go! If we make the final, he'll have 5 games to score them in.

In the first group game, we beat Mexico, but Colidio couldn't score. A wasted game... 7 goals needed from 4 games.

In the second game, Colidio scored 2 goals in a win over Egypt, leaving 5 goals needed from 3 games.

In the final group game, Colidio put 2 past Italy (and had one disallowed), leaving 3 goals needed from 2 games.

The Semi Final was against Jordan and I was hoping he'd get all three, but despite dominating he only got 2 goals, leaving 1 needed from the final.

So, to the final against France. If Colidio can score 1 goal, he makes it to 100 goals in the season! If not, then more humiliation at the hands of @BatiGoal ...

But, if you read closely above, you'll know that he gets injured in this game... So, did he score before he had to leave the field?

I've never counted these because as you say they aren't recorded in the game. Makes keeping track a b$tch so I opt for the easy way.

Without saying. Colidio needed that extra push so I gave him the motivation to go beyond his talent and well beyond his limits. And not his manager who supports, trains and nurtures him every single day

Yeah, I was a bit speechless when I noticed that (when I was putting this update together). I've managed to keep it to 5 conceded before, but 3... wow!! 

We've already conceded 2 by the end of September in the following season... Was wondering if it would be possible to do it with 0 goals conceded, but not this year!

Hmm, that had me worried for a bit! I went and did some research and Wikipedia says "Caps and goals scored also count towards a player's career records". Also it says Messi has 61 ITN goals and the list of them includes friendlies. Perhaps most convincingly, I checked the 500 goal ITN challenge and you've got screenshots of ITN friendlies, so you must have counted them one way or another? So I guess I'm okay to count them?

@danovic78 @Ashez - any insights on whether ITN friendlies count? Background: ITN friendly goals are not included in the Player History screen, but they are included in the total ITN goals in the top section on the attributes page, eg this bit:

As for how easy it is to count them, it's easiest to just use that total right there. At the moment Colidio has a total of 89. He had 9 when I started, so he has scored 80 under my management (though some are friendlies of course).

Yes, one of my biggest successes - getting a journalist to motivate my player to excel, without paying the journalist a single penny for doing so...

That's exactly what I do too, going by that number. Somehow - in the early hours of the morning - I mixed up ITN with pre-season friendlies ? goes to show how often I play ITN.

As for 100 goals in a season - that's the first time I've ever done it! (not counting the second chances career ones where I had a team of champions in the Conference!). It was a struggle to make it, still not sure how some people go way past that! But I'm happy with what I've achieved.

Update - Season 14

Things are really slowing down with this career. I'm not getting much spare time at the moment, so I'm not playing as much and I'm not even reading the forums at the moment. Apologies to all of you for not reading your careers. ? I'm hoping I'll get back to normal in a few weeks.

Anyway, Colidio got through another season - here's how it went...

 

Transfers, etc

Once again the fringe players head out the door, while some promising youngsters come in.

We've hit the point where quite a few players are on the wrong side of 30 and starting to degrade, so we're probably going to have a higher turnover in the next year or two - although we have quite a few ready-made replacements already.

 

Assist Master

Last season I said:

I was looking for someone to step up and provide 25+ assists per year. No one did that this season, but something even better happened:

Yes, nine players had more than 10 assists in the year. I've never had that many before and I think that's more pleasing than one or two players getting most of them. Hope the team can keep it up.

Once again we won all the domestic competitions. In the league, we went 37-1-0 with 116 goals for and 6 against.
