Tactics Joe's Beasty 3-4-1-2 - Control + Goals (EME)

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

Wanted to have a go at making a tactic to control games, play people off the park and most importantly BANG GOALS. Here it is, I would like you guys to try it after having a good start with it myself!

It is a 3-4-1-2 that provides plenty of goals; I was conceding a lot more at the start of this tactic as I was using the 'offside trap', after taking it off my defence has stopped leaking; I dominate possession most matches usually always over 60%.

Over half way through the first season with the O's (trying to get them to the Premier League) and sitting very comfortably at the top! (Enhanced Match Engine)

Here is how it looks:

You need a good right footed right winger and left footed left winger.

Both your forwards should have good pace (50 goals between these two lads for me already this season)

AP must be highly creative with good passing.

The two CM's need to be well rounded enough to perform attacking and defensive responsibilities.

Pressing all over the pitch with a high line, no rest for either team! SMOTHER THEM.

Give it a go guys and let me know how you get on!!

Cheers,

JS

Great job mate! Its not easy to get a lower league team to play with 3 defenders and thrash other teams. Hope you will bring Orient to the prem ASAP! All the best!

My 3 star players, Cole and Brown free transfers, Bonne already at the club. Would make great players for teams in this league and I would say league 2 aswell.

Cole, dynamic winger who covers for me in the AP role when needed:

What a start Brown has had:

Best until last, Macauley 'The Beast' Bonne:

This is by far the most consistent tactic I have used so far, I am currently trialling it with Middlesbrough , my boyhood team, I have changed the AP to a SS to increase the pressure on the opponents defense and it is creating another 4/5 average shots per game, I understand the Os a SS probably wouldn't work in the vanarama league but thanks for the tactic man

Couldn't get it going in the MLS, I got ripped apart game after game.

Will maybe try it elsewhere though.

Damn, hopefully it works elsewhere. How long did you trial it for mate?

Half the season but I was falling away that much I had to change it.

Maybe it was the players. Instead of a new save I'm going to try it on a current one and see how it goes.

I also ran a MLS test run. The results are interesting so far. I started a save as the New York Red Bulls. They have a good AP who can't tackle, and I brought in a decent cm and Will Keane to play up top. The start was a bit shaky, but a few adjustments led to a nine game undefeated streak!

Then I played against a 442 diamond, and lost big.

The only reason the stats aren't completely dominant was because they switched to narrow and contain around the 80th minute, letting me get a few shots and a goal. My takeaway (which could very well be wrong and probably is) is that if your wingers are just average, they can't handle the offensive pressure that the 442 diamond produces. My best winner is an average one and his backups are pretty bad.

Notice that the goals were spread out.

Then I went up against Orlando. They went with a deep 4231.

Nice clean win. Against nycfc, a team similar to Portland in form, but using a 4231:

This was a game I should have won but it wasn't meant to be,  still a good performance.

But it's weird why the 442 diamond hurts this tactic, any ideas? Or maybe just a coincidence (or I'm grasping at straws to explain me being bad at fmm? ???)

That isn't 442 diamond. A diamond midfield are 1 dm, 2 cms and 1 am.

It's442 attacking. Basically you are lacking of wide men ( 2 vs 4 ). Thats probably why you lost heavily.

Knew I got something wrong! That's interesting, ill probably go with s different formation when facing the 442 in general then.

@Sentarian weird that it hasn't worked in yours and another dudes MLS saves, after trying a few and tinkering around it was the most consistent for me.

I will be testing in another league soon, have had good feedback from lower league usage and some top leagues too (Calcio A, Premier League, Championship, Eng. League 1, Eng. League 2, Vanarama Leagues and Eredivisie so far)

What changes did you make? I tried a few but couldn't get it to work but tbf I'm very well could have made the wrong ones.

This tactic is working like a charm! Managing in National (French 3rd div) with one of the worst teams there and I'm #1 at mid-season.

When I play against teams that are offensive, I just put the defensive line to balanced and I go overload. Works almost every time.

Thanks ❤️
