Chat Regens

Are regens done differently in this game? I couldn't find the regen of Ronaldo at all, no Portuguese players who played in his positions. A couple of seasons later I find a player I think is him but the positions aren't exactly the same. I can't find the regen for Messi at the moment either. Does anyone have any idea if regens are done the same as previous games or have they made it harder to find them by changing things?

I've found Robbie Keane and Carvalho so far. Seems the same to me.

I've managed to find a few that are the same, but there are no Portuguese players who play in the same positions as Ronaldo 2 or 3 seasons after he retired which seems strange. Maybe I am just doing something wrong. Thanks for replying.
