Career My 1k adventure - the 50 million boy

Having never done one of these before, I thought it time I ventured on the wild side. Wondering who would be suitable as a candidate, I happened upon a report claiming the club of a certain 16yo was offered 50million by an EPL club to transfer to their side. They even included a 3yr loan back guarantee. So boom, i had my player. Who reckons they can guess the subject of this career?

Its possible HayKay actually meant this guy. At 16 yo Pietro Pellegri is already 6'3" and still growing. He had already rejected a significant offer  from ManU apparently because he wanted to play and score for his childhood club Genoa. He has done that, becoming the youngest goalscorer in SerieA history.

Pietro Pellegri grew up in the shadow of the Stadio Luigi Ferraris. A member of their academy, he dreamed of the day he would be able to play for Genoa and perchance scoring in front of his dad (who works for them). Earlier this year, he because the youngest player to debut in the SerieA. followed months later by becoming the youngest player to score in the SerieA, fulfilling his childhood dream and famously reducing his father to tears as he sat on the Genoa bench watching him.

So when considering this 1k adventure, I just had to try him and see if he was worth the supposed 50 million that has already been offered for him. For this challenge, I decided to try and achieve it with SLB in the Portuguese League (Primeira Liga). He didnt come cheaply, as I had to throw in Jonas in order to sweeten the pot (which I didnt mind as he was only going to block Pellegri's path anyway).

Here he is in all his glory prior to being signed

You can see that he has some nice blues in all the right attributes - although I do like my strikers to have a bit more pace than that. Hopefully with It, that will come.

At season's start I concentrated on just easing him in, giving him a few minutes at the end of every 3rd match or so . Until this happened:

Playing as a sub, he was getting regular minutes at the end of each match. Earlier than I was planning but since he was one of my only 2 strikers fit, I had no choice. It had to happen but I rather wish his first goal had come against some other opponent

Ive been away on hols and unfortunately i cant find the photos I took at seasons end

We won: Premier League, SuperTaca

Pellegri: Played 28 times, 9 goals 1 assist

Season 2: Jiminez picked up a few injuries which meant Pellegri got a fair bit more game time than I had planned. Probably too much in hindsight as I noticed his stats didnt improve much over the year. Towards the end of the year in particular, he started to get the "slightly tired" attribute so had to back off his game time quite a bit. However, doing that paid off and his stats did start to become quite promising.

As a side issue, I won every cup going including the Champions League - which isnt exactly a common occurrence for SLB. However the board wouldnt increase the stadium nor would they increase my wage budget :-(
