Season 15

So here we are guys, no long wait this time as I have the next instalment of MRI ready to go, so let's jump straight into it

I brought in some backup attacking players this year, with Yannick Benbennek as a very good AM option and Bowen and Choi as backup CF's

Desio, Kasperkiewicz and Stadler all made way this year having no game time and so I cashed in

Domestic

We began the season with a very good showing against OM in a very messy game, but Rashford was on point netting all 4 goals and the Trophee des Champions goes straight back into the trophy case

A tight affair in the Coupe de la Ligue final, but a hat trick from Isak is enough to seal the win

Rashford and Mbappe combine to clinch the French Cup against an out of place Rennes team

Smashed the league once again and had it all wrapped up with 10 games to go, so that's now 15 straight league titles

European

A shootout in the Euro Supercup match which saw us come back from 0-3 down to take it to ET and Rashford and new signing Bowen come up trumps and net two in ET to give us the victory

We breeze through a fairly easy UCL group and move on to the knockout stages with our sights set on defending our UCL crown

Inter are our first victims, falling to a 3-0 loss in the opening leg, to then get hammered 5-1 in Paris and we move on to the QF's

Where the mighty Chelsea can't contain our firepower and lose both legs 3-0, and it's onto the SF's for us

Where Juventus are waiting and they wish they hadn't as the first leg goes our way in the form of a 4-1 win, then it's a simple 2-1 win in Italy to see PSG through to the UCL Final

 

Where German outfit Dortmund come to get absolutely spanked by the boys from Paris in a comprehensive 8-2 win which seals yet another UCL title for PSG

CWC

A hat-trick from Isak and once from Rashford is all it takes to seal the CWC against American outfit Seattle 

So a great season for the team, but how did our main trio get on...well there were some injuries to contend with

Mbappe missed roughly a month and a half, and as soon as he was fit, Rashford was out for a month, however these injury spells let me to find a nice two striker formation which worked well in the absence of one of the boys, so how did they do

33 y/o and still a beast

but a slow start and the injury really cost him this season, netting just over 50 goals for the year (not bad though considering he scored 52 in 49 games)

Rashford is starting to slow up, but his main stats still look mouthwatering 

And he had a blistering season 34 years old and netting 70 goals in 50 games, what a man

Isak still looking like a beast of a specimen 

And he had a decently solid season with 59 in 59

So that brings Mbappe and Rashford to under 100 goals left, and Isak still a ways off with almost 170 left, but we are edging closer to that magic 3000 goal target (even if I have to put Rashford and Mbappe on as statue players I will get them there (or not we'll see)

So a great season and with both Mbappe and Rashford needing less than 100 goals each I think I might get closer than I thought, that was until the issue I mentioned in a previous post

After trying to get this done I completely forgot to keep an eye on the contract situation, and both Mbappe and Rashford's contracts were due to expire at the end of the next season.  I managed to get Mbappe to sign a new contract keeping him at the club, but I can't get Rashford to sing as the board will only allow me to offer him £500k, where as I could offer Mbappe £725, and along with that Isak whose contract runs out a year later won't sign as again I can't offer what he wants, so this next season may be the last unless I can get them to sign up later in the new season.......Let's hope it doesn't have to end like this

I'm in November now in season 16 and no matter what I do I can't get them to resign (Isak I have another season) but I don't want it to end like this when I'm so close

The stressful part will be from january untill end of season. If they don't sign a other club could sign them. From my experience at this age they end up signing the contract once it's expired. So no worries @Taff!

Yeah worst case scenario I let them sign with another team then offer them stupid money to resign, but I'll just have to play it out, but he's 35 now and I'm worried he'll just retire if that's the case it's over

MRI

Season 16

So let's dive straight into it, we left off in season 15 with both Mbappe and Rashford requiring less than 100 goals each to hit the magic 1k, but Isak was still a way off.  The big drama this year was getting Rashford to re-sign with the club, and as you've seen in a previous post we eventually managed to get him what he wanted and he signed a 3 year extension, but there was some serious squeaky bum moments this year waiting for him to sign.

So now we have the drama out of the way, let's get on with it (I can hear @samhardy getting angry)

Brought in Ely and and Djordjevic to be my new starting CD's with Upamecano and Fosu-Mensah retiring at the end of the season, Pedersen came in as another CM option (but he could play RB or RW), then after my starting GK got injured for the 4th time I invested in a new starter in Acebal and a new backup in Filipe Silva 

Eventually sold El Fouinse to Chelsea and Montes went to A. Madrid after having his spot taken up, then just players out of contract and unwanted grads leaving (really gutted about McFadzen as he is a solid CM, but couldn't get him to sign a new deal)

So with the transfer business done we set off on the season

We began the season giving OGCN a nice beating as all three of my strikers get their seasons off to a good start

Mbappe came in for a brace in the Coupe de la Ligue final, and with help from Pedersen and Bowen we seal the cup win with a good 4-0 win

Mbappe once again finding his form with a hat trick in the French Cup final, with Isak and Park getting in on the action as well

Another smashing season in the league netting 138 goals on our way to our 16th consecutive league title  

European

We begin with the Euro Supercup, which looks a lot closer that it was, after we took a 4-1 lead by HT, we started the second half with a goal in the first minute to take a 5-1 lead before allowing 2 sloppy goals to give Spurs a false sense of hope, but we still walk away with the cup and 4 more goals for my striking trio

I seem to have forgotten to screenshot the UCL group stage but we went against Ludogorets (6-1,3-0) Napoli (6-2, 3-1) and AEK (5-1, 5-0), so top of the group and on to the knockout rounds

First up we face the red side of Manchester and after a 6-1 drubbing at Old Trafford, they came to Paris and still got spanked as we end the two legged tie 9-2 winners, and progress to the QF's

Where Bayern were waiting, but they couldn't match us as we take a 4-1 lead going into the second leg and Rashford and Mbappe combine to give us a 2-1 win in Munich, to see us through to the SF's with a 6-2 agg score

Back to England for the Semi's as we take on the Gunners, and after a narrow 3-2 win in London, we take a 3-1 win in Paris to secure our place in the finals thanks to a 6-3 agg score line

And we continue the English Theme in the Final as we take on our Euro Supercup opponents Spurs in the UCL final

But after they take a 0-1 lead, we pounce back taking the lead before the half time whistle and then a 81st minute goal form Isak seals the deal

CWC

Boca never stood a chance when my boys are firing like this

So a great season winning the lot, but how did my deadly trio progress this year, let's have a look

His stats still look incredible for a 34 year old.  He began the season needing 95 goals to reach the magic 1000, so could he make a decent dent in that sum

Oh yes he could, knocking in 61 in 55 games leaving him requiring just 34 more to complete his 1k

Rashford maybe not looking quite as good as his French counterpart, but he still has all the right stats to give any defence nightmares.  Rashford also required 95 more goals to reach the 1k mark, could he emulate Mbappe and make a nice dent in his total

OH double delight as he nets 60 in 54, so now he needs 35 to reach his 1k mark

Isak still looks good as well, but he's younger than the other two and his stats don't seem to be holding up quite as well, now he began the season needing a whopping 169 goals to reach his 1k mark, and while I concentrated on the other two, Isak was left to show me what he had

and he didn't disappoint netting 49 goals in his 56 games, leaving him with the still hefty 120 goals left, so we'll see if this will be the challenges downfall, as with the issues with Rashford this year, I'll now have with Isak next season as he only has one more season on his contract, but after getting Rashford to resign I'm quietly confident about getting him a new deal

So a huge season with both Rashford and Mbappe getting so close now to nailing their respective 1000 goals, Isak still a way off and still the potential that he won't sign a new contract, but I have to believe he will.

So let's not keep everyone waiting and jump straight into the next season

Season 17

So straight into it, the plan was simple this year, focus on Mbappe and Rashford and hope that once they hit their tallys that I'd have a bit of time to focus on Isak to boost his numbers and hopefully sign that new contract.

I couldn't resist bringing McFadzean back to the team he is such a quality CM, Murphy came in to sure up our low level CD position, Sapina and Zaracho came in as new CB options and Griffiths (Bale's regen) came in to give me a great AM/AF options, while Andre came in as a backup CM

3 CB's all wanted out (my new tactic didn't really call for them and they only played when I needed to rest my strikers), and Denayer was surplus to requirement so he was let go as well, then just players out of contract ect ect

So with the squad sorted we set off to get at least two of my boys to that magic 1000 goals

We began as we always do with the Trophee des Champions match, and once again faced off against Monaco, they got off to a fast start but Isak was on form with a brace, helped out by Park and a late O.G. and we retain the cup

WTF how can we lose a cup final, this is an outrage I will make inquiries about this.  Couldn't find the net for one of the rare occasions this year and OM steal away one of our trophies 

We made no mistake with the French Cup helping ourselves to a 3-1 win and reclaiming the trophee

Smashed our way to our 17th League title with a huge amount of goals along the way

Eurpoean

Chelsea fell victim to an onslaught from the boys with a 5-0 win and 5 different goal scorers

We breeze through a fairly tough group, but no one is our match, and we move on to the knockout stages once again looking to secure our UCL crown.

We face Bayern once again in the knockout stages, but this time we had to fight back from a 0-2 loss in the first leg to eventually win 3-2 thanks to a 91st minute winner from Benbennek

We made no mistakes in the QF against Shakhtar winning both legs and moving comfortably into the SF's with a 7-2 agg score

And Monaco once again feel the wrath of PSG losing both legs 4-1 and we are into the UCL Final once again

Mbappe and Isak combine to seal the 3-1 victory over Real and we have retained the UCL trophy 

CWC

A closer game than it should have been, but a Rashford Hat trick and one from Mbappe is enough to seal the "Just give it to PSG" cup

NOW onto the important part, no one cares if I lost every competition, how did MRI do this year

Still looking good, his physicals have taken a hit, but I believe a late season injury has caused that, but he's still looking lethal.  He went into this season requiring 34 goals.....

And here is goal #1000 for Mbappe at PSG

Goal #1000 comes from a deflected free kick just before the turn of the year

He ended the season with 49 goals bringing his tally up to 1015 goals for PSG (he'd scored 16 before joining), so 1 down 2 to go

At 36 this guy should have no real green stats left, but dribbling, shooting, technique, decisions, movement and pace all still above the 15 mark, what player.  Rashford began the season requiring 1 more goal than Mbappe, and 3 games after Mbappe netted his 1000 goal, Rashford joined him...

So 2 for 2 now with both my players hitting their 1000th club goal thanks to a deflection, but I'm sure they don't mind

Rashford ends the season 2 shy of Mbappe with 47 in 56 games and he brings his club total to 1012 as well (scored 13 before joining the club).  So that's now 2/3 who have reached the magic 1000.  Mbappe and Rashford both reached 1000 goals by early January, so I then concentrated all my efforts on Isak, to get his tally up.

Managed to get him to sign a new deal towards the end of March (it was annoying as I had been offering £300k a week with bonuses, then I get a reminder his contract is almost up and he agrees to £97k a week) but the important thing is I have him for 2 more seasons, but how did he do this year

Still looking solid, but he had a huge amount to get needing 120 to reach 1000....

and he made a huge dent netting 74 goals in 55 games to bring his tally all the way down to 46 (46 that's all I need now to finish this challenge)

Can't believe how close we are now, If i can keep Isak fit, I honestly think this can happen.  3x1k careers in the same save

So there we have it guys a very good 2 seasons, 2 players have now hit the 1k mark and I'm less than 50 goals away from getting this completed, I'm so excited.

I'll get the final (hopefully final) season to you guys next week as I have the VPL to finish and the bank holiday weekend with the family, so there will be a small delay to find out if this crazy career comes to a successful end.
