Season Three

Transfers

With the money built up from last season we went on a bit of a spending spree bringing in a mix of current world class players and ones for the future. Incredibly Ryan Sessegnon had been released by Tottenham after signing from Fulham in the first season so we managed to snap him up on a free transfer!

Won it all again. Not hard with the squad I have at my disposal but still nice to do. I want that perfect league season but it seems to be getting further away never mind closer.

Much sexier than @BatiGoal's I'm sure you'll all agree.

The Main Event

Now with all that out the way it's time for the main attraction of this update and to see how the British trio got on. 246 after a couple of seasons is decent but really this is the season to push on.

Looking back at the last update I accidentally posted a screenshot of their attributes from before season 3 instead of season 2 so the attributes you saw last time are accurate for this season. I'll put them in the spoiler so you don't need to look back. That's what playing too far ahead gets you!

Injuries

None this season! That soon comes crashing down though as you'll find out shortly.

Goals

Similar to last season. Slightly disappointing but he is still 'yellow' as a striker so can't complain too much.

Screenshot_2017-12-27-22-44-23.thumb.png.b0dd9c4898ed47a0e73bae4d04e1556a.png

A nice season from DCL as he breaks the 50 barrier for the second time this save. Can Woodburn follow suit?

Screenshot_2017-12-27-22-45-03.thumb.png.d14df81d238b35a53e6f352dbc9fe334.png

Yes! His best season to date so far by a mile and it's no coincidence it comes when he's starting to mature as a player and those attributes are coming along nicely. 31 assists too showing he was the most important of the front three this season.

Totals

  • Ben Woodburn - 128
  • Dominic Calvert-Lewin - 148
  • Callum Paterson - 114
  • Total - 390/1500

Thanks for reading. Here's a quick spoiler for the next update.

Season Four

Transfers

Why the hell not :P He'll never play but it will considerably weaken a European rival in the future. I also feel a bit like a season isn't fully complete if you don't splash out money at some point during it.

Our first dropped trophy of the save I believe and I didn't take it well :( An annoying season all round as one draw was all that was between us and that elusive perfect season. A 3-2 defeat to Valencia and a draw at Augsburg were the two most frustrating games of the season.

Beautiful as always

The Main Event

So as per the spoiler in the last update you all saw that the Scottish part of this triple threat managed to suffer a slipped disc and secured himself 7 months on the sidelines, playing no games from mid-August to March. It enabled me to focus on Calvert-Lewin and Woodburn as a partnership so expect bigger things from them this season.

Player attributes before season 4:

All coming on very nicely but these screenshots were taken pre-injury so hopefully next update Paterson's greens are still intact. One other major thing to notice is that Paterson is now natural up front.

Goals

Not nice to look at but a fair enough strike rate from the 20 games he managed to play. Hopefully this isn't damaging in the long term.

Screenshot_2017-12-29-16-20-28.thumb.png.031d67bc623b4410573621a17119ec90.png

I was bitterly disappointed with this return considering it was just him up front with Woodburn throughout the whole season. I was eyeing up 60+ for both strikers so this was a disgusting season from Calvert-Lewin :@

Screenshot_2017-12-29-16-15-30.thumb.png.ab33a584fd6c50ce2bf7010b13fa0890.png

Thankfully Woodburn saves the day with 61 goals. Look at those assists as well!

Totals

  • Ben Woodburn - 189
  • Dominic Calvert-Lewin - 198
  • Callum Paterson - 126
  • Total - 513/1500

Just over a third of the way there and Paterson is the closest to retirement at 26 years old. Looking good so far but still hoping for bigger seasons to come.

Thanks for reading :)

Unlucky with Patterson mate, Hopefully you still get this over the line. KIU

Yep, I hoped it would work as a sort of blessing in disguise so I could focus on the other two but it definitely seems they fire better together when all three are on the pitch.

Loving the progress. At least Pat is now a natural striker!

Hoping it makes a big difference but likely just another gimmick from SI tbh :P

12 in 20 is a decent return from a major injury, and Woodburn is shining, I'm sure CL will pick it up as well

Some of them were before the injury but still not bad. Just around the ratio he's been firing so far. With a bit of luck all 3 will pick it up next season especially DCL.

Sam tactics at its best. That's what Bayern tend to do as well so nice touch bringing a realistic element to your career. ?

Thought you'd enjoy that manoeuvre from myself ;) Btw my manager profile towers above yours now. Just the 5 losses in 4 seasons.

Looking well on track and I think your only slight worry now is if Callum lasts but I'm sure he will!

Hopefully the fact that he's a defender means he'll last longer haha

Season 5

...

Wait what? Two updates in consecutive days? From Sam? I picture you all dancing around your front rooms in excitement for this latest instalment in my exciting journey.

Transfers

Screenshot_2017-12-31-00-41-42.thumb.png.f6d003f39a3f9b0204a5fd7b5ed0432a.png

Unlike last season this year's big money transfer will play on a regular basis. My options in the centre of the park now contain Goretska, Dele Alli, Naby Keita with Mbappe just in front of them. No idea how the reserve player got promoted as I would never have promoted him as he looks like a shitter.

Team Performance

Grrrrrrrrr what an annoying season, probably the most annoying one to date. A ridiculous 2-1 loss to Schalke crushed all hopes of that elusive perfect season whereas SI decided I wouldn't be progressing past the Quarter-Finals of this year's German Cup despite dominating Hoffenheim.

Manager Profile

Incomparable in terms of beauty.

And...

Nothing we didn't know already.

The Main Event

At the end of last season we weren't in a particularly good place after Paterson's injury and Calvert-Lewin's poor season. To be fair to DCL he turns up in the small games yet seems to bottle it when it really matters. Does that remind you of anyone? @BatiGoal @Taff

Attributes before season 5:

Spoiler

Everything looking pretty good here. A relief that Paterson didn't suffer too much after the injury whilst Woodburn's crossing and passing has slightly decreased but that's nothing to worry about really.

Goals

Screenshot_2017-12-31-00-43-08.thumb.png.9b93784bd22fd77679db7fa32f45c020.png

Oh dear. Less said about this the better. Let's move straight onto the English member of the trio and hope he gets near 60. Yeah 60 seems a reasonable target.

Screenshot_2017-12-31-00-43-26.thumb.png.6b8487035797870b06a517338aa6a9b1.png

Fuck off Calvert-Lewin what an absolute disgrace. He's just falling apart. 39? Pathetic. Hope he breaks his spine next season.

Screenshot_2017-12-31-00-43-33.thumb.png.f690014a8ca4e918ad46a731e580ddaf.png

At least one member of the trio is pulling his weight.

Totals

  • Ben Woodburn - 257
  • Dominic Calvert-Lewin - 237
  • Callum Paterson - 156
  • Total - 650/1500

And that brings us to the end of another update, one that was extremely annoying to write. Thanks for reading... Wait no you should be thanking me for writing it, you don't get this type of entertainment elsewhere on a Sunday evening.

Some player Woodburn is and still just 21yo. Looks like he's outgrown the other two already and needs to go solo to build a legacy for himself :)

Low score = more updates for us. Win win (y)

He's doing it pretty much solo currently taking the assists into account as well as goals. And yes, more updates. Lovely.

talk about bottling it, we should rename them Callum Tafferson and Domenic Taffen Lewin

Quite like Callum Tafferson actually, might have to steal it. Haha.
