Help Guidance to beat teams that are worse than me

So, I'm very much a novice in terms of tactics. I feel like I am slowly improving but I have hit a hurdle. When playing against teams who are better than me, I end up playing narrower and on the counter. This seems to work, as I tend to beat them more often than not.

However, when it comes to playing teams at the bottom of the league, they do the exact same thing to me. And I seem to lose more often than not.

So I end up beating the best and losing to those close to relegation. How should I play when the opposition goes narrow, slow and on the counter?

loads Of things to experiment with. Try using a DFB on one side to keep three men back or if FBs and look for overlap are your thing then use a holding midfielder. If you already do that then look at you defensive line ie if your guys are slow then you can’t play with a high line and offside trap for example. Good luck.
