Sorry for the lack of updates. 2 years in game and still waiting for a club. 

Also, my rating has mysteriously dropped to Continental.

So after over 2 years taking extended vacations, I've finally got a job. Though I have doubts about the completion of the challenge with Athletic Bilbao due to their Basque only transfer rule, I applied for the Barca job but wasn't given, apparently because of my decrease reputation to Continental. 

But if I read the rules of the challenge right, @BatiGoal I am allowed to switch clubs in a particular country? 

Because I intend to use this as an opportunity to get back to the top of the Hall of Fame as quickly as possible, and still complete the challenge with a real player.

THE QUEST FOR REDEMPTION 

In this episode, the goal is not to break the record, but to increase my reputation and standing in the Hall of Fame. Due to my long absence from managing, my reputation dropped and I couldn't get any top job no matter how quick I applied. But it's time to try turn that around! 

Transfers 

I was given an 80 million transfer budget, so I made use of it in the best way I could.

Player Awards and Trophies 

My players did win a couple of awards but I forgot to screenshot them.  

Tactic 

You might be wondering how I won the La Liga, Copa del Rey and scored that number of goals in La Liga with a somewhat mediocre club. Thing is at the beginning of the season, I reasoned that the best way to win trophies with the team was to defend - and the best way to defend is to attack! So I set out to play an attacking game.

Team Ratings

As you can see, it yielded results. Most of my players performed quite well.

I'm once again recognised! 

I'm somewhat afraid that I won't be able to make it in time before the top real strikers retire. Also, Athletic's policy of Basque only players, really restricts my transfer movements. 

So what is your take on this career. Do I try to break the records at a club with no more than 1 top player or do I just push my luck with another club?

Mate to be truthful at this stage don't give up, see if you can get Barca or Real Madrid, or in the Search, turn off Interested, select Position Striker and Age 25-32  and simply try and bid for any top striker left in the pick, regardless of if they want to join just keep bidding, it's hard to give up now mate, there's still plenty of Strikers that can smash the record, just keep trying to get them, good luck

Agree with Cockers. Just see what striker you can get but it's a major pain being extremely limited in your player choice due to the club you're managing. I'd say pick the best one available and give it your best shot and in the meantime stay on the look out for a more suitable club if one presents itself. Keep faith.

Quick Heads up 

Inspite of your advices and my better judgement I did quit the Athletic job. I simply lose interest in it. 

Immediately applied for the Ghana job and boom ?I got it! So back to Africa I went. We played 4 games or 5 I think, increased their world ranking to 11th then in December this came! 

So the challenge is officially back on! I have a good feeling about this. ?

THE BEGINNING OF THE END 

We've finally got the perfect club to complete the hard part of the challenge! 

Transfers 

I started pulling off deals immediately I arrived at the club, which luckily, was a few days to the beginning of the January transfer window. 

Trophies and Awards

Not much to say here. 

The Player

I and my scouts conducted an extensive review of the strikes available to me at the time, and I only came up with Moise Kean. Though I'm not sure he'll be able to complete the task. He lacks an important role trait I need. Lets see how he performed. 

Like I said, I think he lacks what I need to complete this challenge. But let's take a look at the others, shall we?

Kean is going to need a 1.5 goal per game ratio if we are to complete this challenge and with him not performing to my expectations, I am going to review interested real strikers in the next transfer window.

Otherwise keep going mate, if Kean is only 26 then there are plenty of others who could complete this for you, Rashford, Dembele etc, good luck

Not really though. The role trait I love for goal challenges is the Likes to try to beat offside trap trait. 

@Cockers2505 Yeah I've found one that ticks all the boxes for me. Though he was almost peaking when I bought him.

He cost a sweet 106 million to bring in. We strengthened other key positions as well. Brought in Karamoh to act as a second choice striker.

His stamina decreased a bit as soon as he hit 30, but still top stuff.

I changed my tactic from the common     4-1-2-2-1 to another, when I noticed that my wingers' scoring/assist rate was becoming too high and boom! There I had it.
