Let's have a try at that crazy career !

 

One challenge, 18 holes, one team :

 

Hole 1

Hole 1 - Tea Olive (Par 4)

So you've picked your team and are ready to start on this mammoth journey. What? Tea Olive? Yes, every hole at Augusta is named after the flower or tree that grows on that particular hole. Anyway, it's a flower native to Asia and is a fairly tricky hole to start off with. A birdie is very much achievable however it may be wise to just accept the par for the first hole, keep your score at 0 and move on. After all, you don't want to be +1 after just the first hole.

Challenge - Buy an Asian GK and ensure he concedes as few league goals as possible.

Eagle - 0-9 conceded

Birdie - 10-19 conceded

Par - 20-29 conceded

Bogey - 30-39 conceded

Double Bogey - 40+ conceded

 

 

 

The goalie :

Nothing original here. After a look around asian goalkeepers, Mathew is a no-brainer 

 

The season :

After ten matches, the tactic is proving well and Mathew rocks. But the shadow of an eagle seems to be fading away...

 

A birdie could be guaranteed. We will need a hell of a ride to get the eagle.

 

We have done it ! 

The last game against City has been terrifying, but we manage to prevent them from scoring that second (and tenth) goal that would have been the end of any hope to eagle that first hole.

It was an awful season, our scoring is very low but we conceded even less. Lost early in both domestic tournaments. Been kicked out of the UCL in quarters against Pep's Manchester City.

Hole 2

Hole 2 - Pink Dogwood (Par 5)

This is your chance to make up some early ground and get ahead of the game before the more challenging holes start. It really is a case of risk versus reward, however, in seasons 2 and 3.

Challenge - Buy a striker from a club that wears pink. First season he must score as many as possible in all comps, must be beaten in second season. If the second season total is lower you automatically receive a double bogey. Must score over 30 first season or get the same punishment.

Eagle - 60-70 scored

Birdie - 50-59 scored

Par - 40-49 scored

Bogey - 30-39 scored

Double Bogey - Under 30

 

 

 

Choosing the man for the job, I suddenly realized I did not pick Italia as one of my starting countries. So, I took, in the Palermo team, the only man that was actually buyable : Felice d'Amico !

 

A nice young fellow playing APM... with astonishing good stats, as you can see :

At this point, I was thinking : "ok, Hell 2, I will bogey you, seems doable".

 

Season 1

Opening games were hard, my guy would only get a chance to score with penalties... and missing a lot of them (two out of three, I would say). But, after a few games, the flower began to open.

At mid-season, he was already looking a lot better and had scored plenty.

The second half of the season was not that great, especially since Felice continued to miss most of his penalties.. while scoring 50% of his direct free-kicks 

So, by the end of June, he had scored 47 goals in 56 games and got 5 greens on his abilities sheet.

We won everything from domestic to europe.

The lil fellow surprised me a lot, and I was therefore aiming for the eagle 

 

Season 2

Still missing a lot of penalty shootout, and still getting those freekicks done. 

In January, everything is under control :

 

Last few month to end this thing... and win everything but carabao cup.

Whow ! It's done ! Felice has been a major surprise, and he managed to get me this beautiful eagle ! 

N.B : as you can see, 23 months of re-training to AC never worked.. but eh, scoring is all that counts, no ?

 

Edit : quiproquo on the rules... your number of goals in first season decide your reward in the end (with the condition of improvement in the second)... A par then !

Nice start mate. Sadly that's meant to be a par as the number you hit first season was meant to be what you aim to beat second season. Scoring 47 means you're playing for the par and to get an eagle would require 60-70 in the first season then beating it. That way it stops people just stopping after 30 in the first season. The same issue @BatiGoal ran into so I might have to change the rules to make it clearer

D'amico improved nicely over 2 seasons. Unlike you, I did have Italy loaded - obviously as I'm managing Milan - so I had better options at Palermo for my pink striker. Don't let this minor setback get to you, you're still on a very good run and and under par score. Keep going!

Oh crap ! I think you should, yes  I'm editing my scoreboard then.
No regrets since getting D'Amico to score 60+ in his first season wouldn't have been possible anyway. The birdie though, without two or three matches on the bench resting... Ahah, doesn't matter, I'll come back stronger

Yep ! It's just that sore feeling of your hope crushing in front of your eyes in a thousand tiny pieces that is hard.. 

Hole 3 isn't that difficult and will cheer my up !

Due to the stealing of my computer () and bad memory with (very) old logins, I lost access to the account Grtep. Therefore I'll continue the challenge with this account, if it's not a problem.

So let's have a look at the challenge, shall we ?

Hole 3

Hole 3 - Flowering Peach (Par 4)

Another fairly kind hole early on, however looks can be deceiving. Tread carefully here or risk dropping a few shots, however it's one you should be fine on given you have the whole season to do it.

Challenge - Have as many different players score a hat-trick in one season as possible. All competitions.

Birdie - 4+ players

Par - 3 players

Bogey - 2 players

Double Bogey - 1 player

Triple Bogey - 0 players

First match of the season, Alvaro Morata, just arrived, scores like he's been there forever and gets me my first hat-trick.

 

Second match of the season and Gabriel Jesus, just as the spaniard, marks his new territory and validates the second hat-trick.

 

Local youngster add one more to the list.

 

Big star of the two precedent seasons, Felice d'Amico gets me to that birdie. Speaking of whom, let's have a look at his new spec sheet :

When you think about his specs when I bought him...

 

Coutinho and Coman for 5th and 6th hat-tricks.

Couldn't get my last two offensive players, Malcolm and Turner, to score more than two in a match.

6 hat-tricks, that's good for that Birdie though.

Hole 4 - Flowering Crab Apple (Par 3)

The first Par 3 on the course meaning the first half season challenge for you managers. This is a hole that requires precision and accuracy, and one that is a lot more challenging than originally meets the eye.

Challenge - In half a season (19 league games) you must get as close to the GD of +40, as possible.

Birdie - Within 5

Par - Within 10

Bogey - Within 15

Double Bogey - More then 15 away

Nothing big in the summer market. Sold Woodburn who wasn't happy with his playing time. The team is solid and will slam this hole without a doubt.

A nice victory in our 18th PL game. 

 

A ton of goals secured a GD of +48 to get that Birdie.

And for the record, that is the return match against Tottenham :

We really made spurs our punching ball this season...

Hole 5 - Magnolia (Par 4)

This picturesque hole is covered in the flower of Magnolia, native to the United States. A birdie on this hole is definitely possible but might be hard to get.

Challenge - Buy two American wing backs. They must get as many combined assists as possible in one season. All competitions.

Birdie - 40+ assists

Par - 30 assists

Bogey - 20 assists

Double Bogey - Less than 20 assists

Soooo, nothing extraordinary for this season, I'm buying those lads :

 

The tactic has been set, and my two yankees begin to pass pass pass like beasts (rly ?).

Mid-season, let's have a look at those numbers :

 

So we are right on track for the Birdie.

However, some injuries will slow the pair down for the second part of the season. But we made it, by just the count !

Hole 6

Hole 6 - Juniper (Par 3)

So you're through 5 holes on the course and will have completed 6 seasons in total. If everything is going to plan you'll be under par and cruising at this point. However this short, snappy half season challenge can be a bit of a brute without the right preparation. Juniper has tripped up many world class golfers in the past.

Challenge - Team needs to score 2 or more goals every single game for half a season (up until Jan.15) in all competitions. Failing to do so:

Birdie - 4 or less times

Par - 5 times

Bogey - 6 times

Double Bogey - 7 or more times

This one doesn't seem difficult to me, I sure know how to score goalies (less to prevent them.. ).

August

A victory at shout outs against City in the Community Shield to start the season.

 

September

A defeat against MCI to begin with and then no problems netting those goals. However, this season I have real difficulties to keep clean sheets.

 

October

No problems, but I'm far from my best standards with my goalscoring tactic. Bad harmony (Stones isx hated by 4 or 5 players, damn) in the team might be the reason.

 

November

Game against Newcastle burns down my first joker. Overall, this month confirms the bad (less good) dynamic with my tactic.

 

December-January

I loose my second joker against Ipswich and I keep finding it hard to keep my nets clean. Spurs continue, season after season, to be my favorite victims, I don't know why but it is getting very funny 

So, only two fails to score more than 2 goals each game, that's a birdie.

Is there even any other good American WBs in this game other than DeAndre and Kellyn  spent 3 seasons scouting for potential regens but no good one coming up so probably gonna use those 2 also

I have the MLS loaded as well as there's quite a few challenges where we need to get North American players so I was hoping for a better selection to choose from. It's always a bit of a mystery as to what players we get in the DB depending on loaded leagues, but yeah looks like these two are the go to guys.

Hole 7 - Pampas (Par 4)

With a medium level of difficulty, this hole has an air of Argentina about it, with it being distinctive for the Pampas grass growing on it. With it being native to Argentina, I'm sure you can guess where the challenge for season 8 will be going.

Challenge - Buy an Argentine winger. Get as many goals and assists combined in all competitions as possible.

Eagle - 50+ goals + assists

Birdie - 40 goals and assists

Par - 30 goals and assists

Bogey - 20 goals and assists

Double Bogey - 19 goals and assists or less

My guy for this season :

Not the cheapest, but not a cheap fellow for sure. Will he manage to get us an eagle ?

Mid-season :

Sooooo, Blanco is the man. Definitely. And with that hat-trick on our 19th PL game, he secured the eagle...

That's a 50/50 in 29 games. Playing IF in the updated game.

Blanco is leading up the scoring thanks to free kicks and penalties but everybody is joining him to the fest. And the team gave us the better season start since the beginning of this career.

A very long and drawn out hole, Yellow Jasmine is ideal for people looking to make up a couple of shots if they are falling down with their score. This two season challenge makes an eagle or a birdie the prime target for this hole.

Challenge - Buy a goalkeeper from a club that wears yellow. He must be played up front, and score as many goals in all competitions in two seasons as possible.

Eagle - 60 goals

Birdie - 45 goals

Par - 30 goals

Bogey - 20 goals

Double Bogey - 19 goals or less

What a unexpected season there ! Seeing from @BatiGoal precedent, I wasn't sur I could do better than 20 goals, top. Result : 66 games in red, 22 goals, 26 assists. This get me in a very nice spot for par and authorize me to think about birdie.

My aim for this challenge is therefore set to that birdie and so 23+ goals to score next season for my friend Vicente Bellerin.

 

The icing on the cake of this amazing season ; Vicente got me the CL title in the very end...

A few less games due to some injury, two with his old gloves back on (just enough to concede 2..), and 21 assists.

I played my career "pre-update" entirely (as the update only arrived mid-career) so I've either been very unlucky with my GK choice or the game screwed me not having any of it with GKs up front. I guess we'll never know until a 3rd person tries this challenge/hole.

In any case, you're killing it and this hole is nothing short of amazing

Yep, might be... The only other difference I can tell from your screens is that I always played my GKstriker amongst an other AC and two IFs. The tactic was providing a lot of goals, and he definitely got his share. Or maybe the league itself ? Serie A would be way more difficult for a (really) non-natural striker to operate, considering the higher level in tactic related playing.... ???

Only 4 penalties scored in about 15 tries over the two seasons. Free kicks were abundant though, somewhere between 15 and 20 goals (lost track in the end). This particularity reminded me a lot of d'Amico in my Hole 2.

Make the most of this hole because after this it really starts to get tricky. You may want to go for the birdie however be careful as if you underestimate it, you'll end up dropping back.

Challenge - Buy an MC from Bournemouth. Total up his goals and assists at the end of the season in all competitions. Then, if his average rating is above 7.00, then add 7 to the total. If it's below 7.00, then remove 7 from the total.

Birdie - 65 overall

Par - 50 overall

Bogey - 35 overall

Double Bogey - 34 or less overall

Hmmmm.... Who's going to be ma'man ?

After 10 matches :

A lil' slower, but eh... 16/65

 

10 games later :

The man is starting to demonstrate his penchant for assists. 30/65

 

30 games :

Tandy is rocketing my season. 48/65

 

And after 40 matches... :

62/65 and those +7 that mustn't vanish now at 7.82 AvR = 69/65 !!! Birdie !

 

End of the season :

(79+7) 86/65 in the end. 60 fuckin' assists (beating a Vibe record I think...) ! A mad man this one. 

 

Otherwise, the season has been great fun, with our scoring record in PL in this career (and conceded record too ahah) !

After a looooong break, I saw Nucleus attempt while having a look around and got hyped again 😂

But my save for this challenge is on my ex phone, anyone know how to transfer safely a save between two android phones ?
