Tactics Jack Goes Giant Killing

So I brought in one of my earliest fmm18 formations and started fiddling around with it, utilising my favourite roles and making the tactic more attacking. It has proven a very Keegan-esque, score more than they do tactic now.

So theres the tactic. What about the results?

EDIT:

Lots of cards, but winning so far and scoring a LOT. Switched from Slambo's LL Tactic. Both are effective, Might use them in rotation.

Okay, can I just say I love this formation?

Lots of success here with a few tweaks.

After getting El Ejido promoted to La Liga 123, I started getting hammered.

Switched to

Counter 

Narrow

Balanced Line, Sit Back, Normal Tackling (turn on Commited at the very end of a tight game)

Lots of success again, against teams I'm not favored against.

@kts365 this is great stuff, new formations to tweak helps keep the game fresh for me, so thanks so much for posting.

Thanks man. I love that you have made your own tweaks and got it working wonders for you. I admit I have also messed with the shape/instructions, going narrower with weaker teams and going wide and fast when playing as a dominant team. Do you find your shadow striker is your star?

He definitely performs well.

I also do well with the DF, but I was able to sneak the Diego Forlan regen onto my team, so the DF is more talented than most available.

The DF can do wonders yeah. Had mine getting around 40 goals at his peak goals and 25ish assists at his best.

Bearing in mind this was the premier league with this player.

One thing I have noticed is that the tactic as a whole is most effective with a AP who has BBM  stats, especially Aerial. If you just have one guy in that CM spot, he needs to be strong and capable of winning headers.

I totally agree. Goretzka was amazing in this role whereas the likes of kasey palmer who is a good AP on paper was no good in the centre.

No because I already progressed into the new season. As you can see from the pictures the team scored 97 in the Premiership and only conceded 32, losing only 3 matches of 38 and only 4 draws.

 

You can see I beat most teams including the big ones.

I do have these from my other device though using the same tactic. It's a test for a Southampton supporting friend.

It also works in the lower leagues.

Struggling with this tactic using Aldershot (Vanarama National League).

First two games conceded 11 goals (5 and 6 respectively) and scored 7 (5 and 2 respectively).

As a result, moved to Attacking and defensive line to Balanced.

From there I often throw away 2/3 goal leads and end up drawing or get run-over 6-0.

Now 12 games in and I'm sitting in 13th, GF 27 GA 28!

Do you change anything in game or just allow the tactic to do it's thing?

Should I move back to Overload and high defensive line and just close my eyes?

Whilst this is a giant killing tactic it has not been tested in lower leagues. Perhaps you can come up with a solution and post it here? Sorry mate.

This is the Solskjaer of tactics.

This is my go-to tactic when I need to score goals as its so attacking. 

But starting it as my default tactic doesn't have the same impact.

So I just applied the tactic to my Scotland team and...

Certainly did a giant killing job for me. Trying to create an all English team/squad so sold traore, assombalonga, Randolph, gestede, Ayala, Fabio etc and managed to sign sessegnon, che Adams and bostock and a few others.

Thank you very much for this tactic.

I tested it in Aston Villa - where i had just 3 incoming players - Sessegnon, Drągowski(GK) and Coady and it's great.

After 30 games i'm first in Championship with Hull being behind me by 3 points and a rest of teams far behind. I even managed to beat Everton and I hope that i will be able to beat some giants after that in FA Cup. 

 

The only thing im not used to is my SS(AMC) scoring more goals than FC.

Probably because the FC (actually not at the center in this tactic) is a DF, how is he doing with assists?

Did you use the original tactic or with the modifications listed in the thread? I find the original tactic very leaky at the back

Tried both ways. Scored more using wing-backs as you can see on my Leeds save on this thread.

If you want better defending but less goals scored use full backs instead.

Ah, I meant if you kept it on overload + high line or if you did as someone suggested and went with the counter mentality instead.

Left instructions as is. Almost always works for me.
