Welcome to the final part of my attempt at the VCT Challenge...

 After a decent start and an indifferent winter period we move into the new year hoping to move up the table and improve on our game dominence.

After the winter break we're back with an away game against Bremen.

A good win despite going 2-1 down.

 

Next up was a home tie against RBL.

It might not look it but we were dominating in that 1st half we just couldnt score and RBL took advantage.

When Vibe got sent off we just couldnt contain them and they ran riot!

 

The fans were hoping to see more progression as the team lined up at home to Koln.

A really good display from the boys here, Vibe is starting to get goals on a more regular basis.

 

So after a short January month we move into a busy February.

1st up is an away trip to Mainz.

We were very poor in this game, couldnt get going at all and the sending off of Pulisic didn't help either.

Atleast we kept the score down!

 

Next up for the Dortmund boys was a home game with Hoffenheim.

After the early Lozano strike i thought we would end up smashing them...i was wrong!!

i kid you not 8 of those shots were in the 1st 10mins!!!

It was like we gave up...lucky draw in the end.

 

Back into the Champions Cup now with the 1st round knock out away fixture against Real Madrid.

We should of won this game...loads of possession but without the end product and we ended up losing!

 

Back to the league now and a tricky away game against Gelsenkirchen.

Despite taking the lead we struggled to create...due to injuries to Barco and Lazano my AP positions were taken up by poorer backups and we struggled to get anywhere and deserved to lose.

 

The last game of the month saw us come back home to play Frankfurt.

I expected much more after the 1st sending off. We had enough shots to score but they were wayward!

The Frankfurt keeper got a 10 rating aswell which didn't help.

 

And so....after a glorious February we start the month of March with a home game against BMG.

An exciting game that was 3-3 at one stage, we just had the edge thought to finish the game 3-5 winners.

On another note during the gameplay i noticed the team were really pinging it about....could we finally have got accustomed to our VCT?

 

Next on the fixture list was the Chapions Cup 2nd leg at home to Real Madrid.

WOW!! What a performance!

We were just awesome from the get go and Real couldnt get anywhere near us.

We are starting to play some awesome stuff now.

 

Next up was a home game against a team i dont seem to beat very often...Leverkusen.

An even game but Leverkusen won it...just.

They are my own personal curse.

 

 

 

 

And so we move on to our next game and an away game against Hertha Berlin.

Aubameyang blew them away on his own here. It can be frustrating sometimes how good we are then not so good the game after.

 

We go up against Hamburg next at home.

An excellent performance that deserved more goals than we got but we are getting more positive results now.

 

And as March comes to an end, could April bring us positive results?...

We begin the 1st week of April with a Champions Cup tie, its the 1st leg of the quater final at home to Man Utd.

A solid display brought plenty of chances which on another day would of flown in.

 

After the performance against Man Utd i"m hoping for no more post CC headaches.

So we tackle an away game to Freiburg.

A game we should of won comfortably having been 2 up...still a wins a win!

 

Next up is the 2nd leg of the CC away at Old Trafford.

GET IN!! Despite going in at half time a goal down, the team played brilliantly 2nd half to progress to the semi's.

 

We are up against Stuttgart next.

A solid victory but yet again let a 2 goal lead slip away....but thanks to Aubameyang with another hat-trick we win in the end.

 

On to Augsburg away next...

Wooah...Aubameyang is on fire at the moment with another 2 goals to seal a really good away win.

 

Next game takes us back onto our CC journey with an away 1st leg tie with Roma.

A suberb away win...and a clean sheet!

thankfully the 2 early goals were enough to seal the victory despite Vibe getting himself sent off...again!!

 

And the final game of April see's us tackle a strong Wolfsburg side at home..

Boom!! A stunning victory and Vibe makes amends for being sent off against Roma with 4 stunners!!

 

And now we move into the final month of the season.

With only a few games left to play the Dortmund fans are starting to dream big....will there dreams come true? 

We get underway in May with the home CC leg against Roma..

Oh man...

What a 2nd half finish! Roma tried in vein but just could not cope with an inform Dortmund side....on to the FINAL!!

 

After the CC game its an away fixture against Hannover..

Another fantastic away win.

Vibe gets himself on the score sheet but we could and should of had more!

 

So we reach the final game of the league season, after a indifferent start and a major overhaul of the playing staff with many supporters wondering who the hell does this guy Sparxx think he is....many have now warmed to the crazy old fart!

The last game of the season pits them against the might Bayern Munich at home!

An evenly matched game that Bayern will be upset they didnt snatch at the death... but a good draw in the end for the Dortmund boys.

 

With the league season over where did Dortmund finish..

Despite moans and groans from the supporters and a major influx of new players a 3rd place finish wasn't too shabby in the end. 

So with the league season over and the fans pleasantly happy with how things panned out it was off to the Champions Cup final against.....Atletico Madrid.

What the!!! With many fans calling it the greatest most exciting final there has ever been, Dortmund snatched it at the end but almost let it slip away.

Having been 2 up at half time the fans must of thought the trophy was theres.

2 very late goals from Luis and Griezmann putting Atletico back in the game and seconds from extra time....not as far as the mighty Godfred Donsah was concerened as he went free and slotted past Oblak to win the Champions Cup in the 93 minute.....Awesome!!

 

With many fans now thinking they have one of the best manager around and sad that he has to leave his post.

Having now left the post he had done so well at the hunt for Sparxx' successor was well underway.

Having previously expressed his interest in the job @NucleusNT was installed as favourite, only time will tell if he decides to take on the task.

So here is the peticulars for the leaderboard...

We only reached  the 3rd round of the German cup so thats  6pts.

A Champions Cup win nets us the maximum 10pts.

Proof of the 26 different nations used.

And here is Lasse Vibe's stats for the season.

So with 19 goals and 20 assist that gives us 39pts. Adding that to the 64 league pts and a +26 GD we have a grand total of...

145 POINTS(i think)

I'm sure @FuddledFox will confirm.

The points: You scored 143 as it was only 4 points in the cup. You get 2 points for each round you pass so you passed round one and two before losing in round three =4 points.
