Career Split Personality - The Celtic Cat

So I thought I would have a go at this nice short one season challenge from @mcandrew003 - The Split Personality Challenge

I fancied trying a different league for this one and in the challenge there is a bonus 50 points for winning the league so there was an obvious choice to go for here...

So after arriving at Celtic Park, I need to find the perfect striker with great physical stats that could handle playing at CB for half the season. There is a few obvious ones in the game if you look but I was never going to attract them to Scotland so I plunged the lower leagues in Europe and found him, the Celtic Cat...

Salvatore Caturano

He is a bit of a nomad since making his league debut for Empoli aged just 16 and currently plays for Lecce in Serie C.
Decent all round stats but nothing spectacular. A solid defensive forward that I think could handle the Scottish league while player at the back.

Transfers In

So I was looking to carry on using my 4-1-3-1-1 formation that served me well in Holland, hoping it would be ok in Scotland so I needed to boost my central midfield significantly. I went to Brazil to bring in Arao, Jucilei and Romulo for less than £5m for all three. Meredith was cover for Tierney at LB and Crisetig was more main creative player. The Cat was bought in for £2.9 plus Hayes in P/X.

Transfers Out

With not much in the pot I needed to raise some cash so off went Dembele. Ralston is a good prospect at RB but not needed for this challenge and the wingers had to go too so it was goodbye to Sinclair and Forrest.

 

Can the Cat settle in well?

Good stuff, I've used the Brazilians and they are all decent. Arao is pretty unmotivated, though.

The Celtic Cat - Part 1

A good start from the Cat catches the eye of the fans...

10 Games

So after a quarter of the season its a solid start. No defeats so far in the league.

The Cat

Not much more I can ask for, he has hit 13 goals in the first 10 goals and settled in well.

Betfred Cup
So we pick up our first piece of silverware with a single Cat goal in the final.

Champions League
Sadly our group was just too tough and we couldn't make it to the knockout rounds but did claim a Europa League place.

Fixtures
Just slipping to a three 1-0 defeats in the Champions League and a few sloppy draws in the league

Good start, some real gems in Serie C. Andrea Russotto (then of Catanzaro) was really good in FMH 2015. So maybe there's that 'Cat' connection.

The Celtic Cat - Part 2

Sorry for the delay in finishing this one off.

So the Cat has finished his first half of the challenge. 19 games in and 23 games, not a bad return but I was hoping for something closer to 30. Plus 2 assists give me a score of 25 for the first half of the challenge.

Transfers
In January we added Martinez as cover up front due to The Cat moving back to Centre back and Tousart to help boost the midfield.

Europa League
We sadly go out in the Second Round to Galatasaray on away goals as we failed to break them down at home.

Ladbrokes Premiership
So we stroll to the title with no defeats, so close to 100 points and goals too.

Scottish Cup
Another stroll in the cup final as we dispatch Hibs with ease.

Team Stats
The Cat was obviously my best performer but special mention for Stuart Armstrong who was superb with 20+ goals and assists.

The Cat
So my main man finishes with league 25 goals in total, 19 at Striker and 6 at Centre Back. Plus 3 assists in total.
