Career Gingerbread KIA - Another Triple Threat

Hi all, I have been inspired by the many many triple threat careers recently to give it a go myself and see how I can do. I do apologise for the familiarity of my attempt as you will see. Since I don't have a lot of spare time at the moment and you guys are up to your eyeballs in triple threats I shall keep my updates short and snappy on this one; is mostly just to record my attempt and see how far I can go with it.

Like everyone else I shall be using...

The Paris giants PSG for this due to their bottomless supply of money and easy league participation.

As for the players hopefully my trio will fire down all opposition they come across leaving them KIA...

Kean

Used him a few times this year and am always impressed, yet to use over a long period of time though so excited to see how he develops in his prime.

Isak

 

Never used him but seen a lot of others on this site have lots of success with him so hope he can replicate this under my management.

Arp

Not used him and never seen anyone else try him out either despite his great potential and young age, am particularly excited to see how he does for me.

Season 1

Season Overview

Ran away with the league to earn my personal highest ever points tally as an FMM18 manager, scoring lots of goals along the way. Cleaned up the domestic cups with ease however unfortunately met our match in the Champions League final losing to Bayern 4-2.

Kean

After a season of intensive-ish training is looking promising. Unsure whether to make their training even more intensive for better development or not so that they are less tired and can play more minutes.

Imo a very good first season smashing the half century at his first attempt.

Isak

Nice all round attributes here and particularly like that pace.

Not quite as prolific from Isak but good nonetheless. Didn't score as consistently as Kean but managed to bag himself a few braces and hatties to make up for it.

Arp

Impressive physicals from the German but could do with some prompt technical improvement in order to get up to scratch.

45 from 60 am very happy with that since as I was playing the season it didn't seem like he scored that much but I guess having him on pens probably helped out a bit.

Season 2

Season Overview

Very disappointing season unfortunately. Won the league but too many points dropped in comparison to last season and 20 odd fewer goals scored. Won a couple of unimportant cups but the French Cup and Champions League were major disappointments getting shunted in the quarter finals of both. I put part of it down to the old "teams figured out my tactics from season one" and subsequent constant tinkering of tactics and roles but at the end of the day really it was just that my three strikers missed waaaaaay too many chances at times it was laughable.

Steady attribute progression from Moise, am hoping at some point in the next couple of seasons they'll explode into world class numbers. In terms of goals it tells the story of the season that he scored 14 fewer than last season in the same amount of games. Same players same opposition same opportunities, just somehow missed a hatful.

Isak

Starting to look like a very nice attributes page for Isak. Also as top scorer I was pleased with him, improvement in goal total in fewer games than the first season.

Arp

Thoroughly disappointed in this young lad at the minute. Nearly half the number of goals he scored in his debut season. He can do with a kick up the backside and report early for preseason training for season 3!

Haha cheers guys! Overall am pleased with the first couple of seasons, just a bit frustrated at the 25% decrease in goals in 2nd season. KIA were a year wiser yet somehow missed an inordinate number of chances.

I’m amazed how many issues disappear as soon as you offer a bumper contract to someone, so may be worth a try.

Season 3

Season Overview

Fantastic season this time round. Was doing solidly but nothing spectacular and then changed back to my season 1 tactics in December and thoroughly kicked on. League in the bag by a 30 point margin and no trouble whatsoever in the cups. Finally managed to nab the big one after two years of frustration, getting revenge on Bayern in the CL semis before a tidy 1-0 victory over Atletico Madrid in the final despite playing 60 minutes with 10 men.

That's the attribute explosion I was hoping for!! Looks absolute gold and hopefully can only keep on improving over the next few seasons. Not his best tally but an improvement on last season and he is such a consistent goalscorer, I'd definitely say he is the best player of the three.

Isak

Great progress from Isak too, looking like the complete striker..... wonder if I should change his role to Complete Forward, has anyone had major success with this role in goalscoring challenges? One more goal than last season and a pattern is emerging. Anyone want odds for Isak to net 44 next season?

Arp

Improvements all round! 18 finishing for Arp now is really nice to see and has the makings of a great poacher. Thankfully had a better season than last time round, managing to bag himself double the amount with 46 for his best season to date.

Thanks for the idea mate I have tried this a number of times as I know it works when someone is unhappy with training but alas no success. Kean and Arp still have a strained relationship with Isak. Hopefully it doesn't affect the performances too much as I'll just have to play on and hope they can work out their differences between themselves.

Season 4

Season Overview

Overall a decent season winning everything except the French cup where we were robbed by Lyon at the quarter final stage. There was a satisfying Kean hattrick in the CL final vs Real Madrid.

This man has developed into a world class player attribute-wise however saw a drop in goals this season so hope to get the numbers back up next season.

Isak

He skips 44, 45 and 46 and jumps right up to 47 for season 4. Pleased to see an ever increasing goal tally so shall be aiming to hit the 50 goal mark with Mr Isak next season.

Arp

Steady stuff this season from all three whilst not breaking any records they were all fairly consistent with their goalscoring so hope they can really push on over the next few years as they come into their prime and hit some big numbers. Would be better if I could get them some more goals that my midfield steal...... had a 25 goal season from Pogba and a few others hit double figures which is a tad annoying.

Top season all round for the team this year claiming every single trophy available with a hatful of goals scored in the process.

His lowest tally yet is a slight disappointment and he missed a lot of chances but contributed well to the team so can't complain too much.

Isak

Steady improvements each year with Isak netting his PB each season, up to 49 this year. Hopeful he can smash the 50 mark for the first time next season.

Arp

What can I say about this lad's season. He had an absolutely exceptional year, smashing the half century and skipping up to 61 for the season for by far his best tally yet!

So a great season in all with the fellas really starting to come into themselves. I am pleased with the numbers I am getting but just feel I could stretch it out even more, due to the sheer number of goals scored by my central midfielders who play as advanced playmakers. Last season 61 goals were scored from the four players I rotate in these two AP positions (Pogba scored 24, after 27 the previous season). I feel if I can find a way to get these players to provide more to the front trio instead of having a go themselves then KIA could have even more to their name, so I shall tinker with DLP and CM roles in the hope they can still carry the same threat and creativity without stealing as many goals. Please feel free to lend any suggestions if anyone has any ideas. Thank you very much for reading, Pooches out.

Season 6

Season Overview

Another good season all round just a shame to miss out in the CL final again, this time to Chelsea, as well as the Coupe de la Ligue against a strong Marseille side. Walked the league again though with lots of goals. We were on track for a lot more as well until an injury to Isak in January stunted the team a fair bit through his absence.

Better than last season but still not hitting the heights of his early performances as a keen teen Kean.

He got fewer than the previous season! His run of improvements ends here with a mere 45 this time round. As I said he was injured throughout January and I believe if it wasn't for this then Isak, KIA, and the team would have had an overall better season as it seemed to stop the free flow of goals that occurred in the first half of the season.

Sorry this one is the wrong way round lol. Another great season for Mr Arp as again he was the best of the three with a tally of 53.
