Career Pellegoals at Spurs - A 1kc journey

So, I’ve done a few goal scoring challenges - cracking the Triple Threat, Bad Boys from Brazil, and Double Troubles - but never quite managed to smash a 1kc.

disclaimer: I almost did in my last goalscoring attempt, but saved over the file like a complete moron. I’m not sure I’m quite over it yet - I’m still attending counselling sessions.

For this, I’ve chosen this boy...

He is a good lad who did me proud in a previous save as a support striker, so I thought I’d try and turn him in to my main man in this one.

He signed on the dotted line at Spurs, happy to play for me but mostly keen to visit the London nightclubs - a habit I will have to clearly monitor.

I will be doing this attempt alongside my entries to the Vibe Olympics, so I will be on major ‘file save’ monitoring. Season One is in bag, which I will post later.

Season 1 - Laying the foundations

Like being on Homes Under the Hammer and renovating a delapidated house, my main priority in the first season was very similar: shake the Spurs squad up and get going. 

Transfers

 Fair few players heading out. Pretty much 75% of the squad.

Coming in were familiar names to all, including the wonderful Scarpa, Pavon, and Arthur who are all fantastic value for money. I’ve never managed Sessegnon yet, so wanted to give him a squad role.

Team Performance

We were good at coming second. In a slightly sadistic way I’m kinda gutted we didn’t lose the FA Cup final too. All a little bit Bayer Neverkusen. 

The boy

43 goals. For a 16 year old. Not bad.

He also got in to the World Best XI.

Totally agree. Somewhere between 150 and 200 is the target.

Season 2 - Club success?

Second season: club refreshed in season one, with the hope that from season 2 onwards everything can be more settled and procedural. Let’s see how we did...

Kane wanted to leave and was upsetting everyone, and his value had gone well down since the start so I begrudgingly let him go.

De Gea is the most consistent keeper in the game for me. I signed a few young South Americans and a young Portuguese fella whom I’m wondering may be the Ronaldo regen as he’s pretty decent.

We won the Community Shield. I forgot to take a screenshot.

The Carabao Cup was also ours...

As was the FA Cup.

We beat two of our biggest domestic rivals in the finals.

We then went in to a game with Leicester later in the season needing a point for the title.

Job done. Domestic treble complete. Could we do it in Europe?

Our game against PSG gave me a good indication that we could.

8-1 over the two legs. On to the quarters.

An aggregate 5-0 win over the German monsters.

Semi finals nicked an an Alli away goal. Sevilla provided a sterner test than the PSG and Bayern economic powerhouses.

Atletico in the final. Could we do it?

Yep, just. Pellegri netting the first penalty in the shootout.

After being runner up in everything in the first season, we won everything in the second.

The boy

Despite playing six more games than the season before he scored five less. Still, it’s contributing towards the ‘goals before he is twenty’ rule. Trying to balance a tactic between winning and him scoring is quite tricky at Spurs, especially with Chelsea, City, et al still being incredibly strong league teams.

Cheers mate. I figure as soon as he turns 20/21 that’s when he needs to step up. Most of the team - Barco, Kai, Hendricks - aren’t full developed either so in a few seasons it’ll click.... hopefully. 😒

make a back up save after every season next time in another slot

It’s that the whole save thing becomes so automatic that I ended up saving to save file three, which of course overwrote this.
