Career Salford City - The Race to be Perfect [COMPLETED]

Season 7

After last seasons premier league triumph, you could well and truly call us an established premier league football side. All the great sides need to build on their success however. This season would be our debut in the Champions League, the holy grail of club football and after our heroics in the league last season we feared no one. All we needed were a few new faces to freshen up the side.

Transfers

Bia Bi left for £4.7 million, and considering I got him for free that proved to be good profit.

The club gave me just over £30million to work with this season, I felt that was plenty to work with.

Wade Moore was the most expensive signing but he’s the only one I didn’t really use, he’s definitely one for the future at 17 with some wicked attributes. Peter Devonshire is Ashley Young’s regen I believe, so for £20k that represents great value for money. All in all we had a net spend of £27million so I pumped the rest into the wage budget.

Community Shield

Would have been nice to win this, but they proved too strong again. Funny thing is, we played them in the opening day of the league and beat them 3-0 away so swings and roundabouts I suppose!

Carabao Cup

Another anticipated early exit from the most meaningless cup to ever exist. (Honest opinion) Hate this competition

At the turn of the year we received a shiny new stadium to add to my tally 😁 @Foxy would you update my tally on the leaderboard please?

FA Cup

Could we go one further than last season and win England’s premier cup competition?

A straightforward route to another final. Coming up against Huddersfield was the biggest test. Chelsea would await us in the final though, and I knew we’d have to bring our A game.

 

 

 

It took extra time, but Salford have won the FA Cup, young full back Asa Kelly-Evans gave us the lead on the stroke of half time before Morata equalised for the Blues. Free signing Harvey Barnes would thump in the winner in the first half of extra time though, to send the Salford fans wild!

League

We struggled for goals this season, and it’s something I will definitely have to look into. Our defence however, is tighter than a nuns... you get the picture.

We retain our crown, Just the 62 goals Scored but our defence of 22 goals conceded proved vital, add the fact that the rest of the competition always fall apart around March and it was a stroll in the park.

Champions League

Little old Salford City, appearing for the first time in the European Champions League. Who’d have thought it. 

We were given a fairly comfortable group of Sporting Lisbon, Sevilla and Olympiakos. So I was confident of reaching the knockout stages.

We do just that, topping our group and going unbeaten. Found it easier to score goals in Europe than in the league which I guess is how it goes in this game. PSG would await us in the last 16.

We hold out Neymar and co. at the Parc des Princes, I felt like we needed a goal to be sure if things though.

I was proved wrong as Rocha sends us to the quarter finals to face Liverpool in a massive all English tie.

Firmino heads Liverpool into a slender 1-0 aggregate after the first leg at Anfield in the most perfectly even match I’ve seen. I was confident of scoring in the home tie, it was shutting them out that would prove decisive.

A 3-1 scoreline on the night at Moor Lane proved enough, and Salford are heading to the semi-finals of the European Cup where they will face A.C Milan.

And we tear them apart at the San Siro! A brace from Rocha and a Ryan Woods goal gives us three huge away goals to take back to Moor Lane.

Where we finish the job. Leko with a brace this time around and Rocha with the opening goal which put this tie we’ll beyond Milan’s reach. European cup finalists! Arsenal are the only obstacle in our way and achieving the unprecedented. We’d grabbed four points off them in the league, so it’s fair to say we were confident.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

And confident we should be! Salford City are European Champions. Young left back Kelly-Evans headed us in front and we never looked back as Rocha scored his umpteenth brace of the season to send the fans delirious!

But remember guys, this win will mean nothing really unless my manager attributes are at a perfect 20 on the same day as this win. 1st June 2024

Manager Profile & Season History

I felt sick! We were a single point out! Financial control at 19 has let me down and we must continue our journey for perfection for at least another season. 

Player of the Year

I have I give this years award to Harvey Barnes. A free signing a couple years ago, he’s turned into my go-to man on the right flank.

In a team full of attacking players, where goals and assists are spread amongst everyone, he really stood out this season. He was involved in nearly a 1/3 of all our premier league goals so he’s a really important player.

Season 8

On the back of winning the treble last season and coming agonisingly close to completing the challenge, I knew I had to put my head down and fully concentrate on them manager attributes this coming season. It was literally a season of being too scared to change anything lol.

Transfers

 

So a few players outgoing this season. Cole and Poole had been great servants for the club but I felt their time was up. Sahin had surprised me too, he developed really well considering his age, but at 35 didn’t warrant offering him another contract.

Two new faces, two English youngsters to boost my Youth policy and Domestic bias attribute. Neither would be used this season.

Neither were these two clowns. Salford are World champions 🌎

Carabao Cup

Into the final of the Mickey Mouse cup, I used my reserves leading up to it, but in the final I put my strongest XI out. After all, it was a trophy we didn’t have in our collection yet.

We do now. Thumped Chelsea 2-0 to seal the cup.

FA Cup

Revenge in the semi finals against Utd! With 10 men for the majority of the game too.

 

And then a convincing 3-0 win against the Arsenal. Great season so far.

League

A third Premier league title in a row for Salford. Our best season to date in this league with a whopping 92 points.

Champions League

We get the better of Utd again! 4-1 at the new stadium to send us to our second successive European cup final. Could we do it again? Barcelona awaited us in the final.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

We’ve done it again! Now pray for those manager attributes to be perfect on the 31st of May 2025! 🙏🏻 Nearly a perfect season, missing out on the community shield. First let’s have a look at our player of the year.

Player of the Year

Ashley Youngs regen I believe. Peter Devonshire. He cost me £20k!! He’s now worth over 2,500 that value at £51 million! Mental.

He had a cracking season on the left flank, with 26 assists and 10 goals and featuring in 48 of our games. What a bargain!

We’ve only gone and bloody done it! 20’s across the board makes that challenge complete! What a ride. I think I need a lie down. It was a nice bonus to get over a 1000 club goals too I guess!

A lovely mix of trophies from across England and Europe, with the community shield being the only one missing. What a ride it’s been Salford, but I believe I’ve taken you as far as I can.

Some say that @Foxy is the favourite to land the job, but who knows. I’m off to Bora Bora to sip on some mojitos and watch the world go by.
