Career Rob tries the Western Europe Challenge - Strikerless

Having a peruse around for my next challenge to try, I thought I’d give this one a go:

Essentially, you move from Germany to England, to France, to Spain... but you can only move on when you break the team goal scoring records in each league.

But, wait, I have a twist. I’m going to try and do it with no players with a green in the striker position and also with NO player playing in any of the top line roles. Yep, I’m going strikerless.

Thanks mate. I’ve stumbled across a tactic that seems to work. Got to say, mind you, that I hadn’t quite done the maths and figured out that the German records is pretty much three goals a game on average 😭😭😭

Season 1 so far... - Germany

I need 102 goals in 34 league games. 3 goals a game. Feck. I’ve got a feeling this won’t get completed, but Rob will try and slam it down.

To no one’s surprise I chose this team to start:

It’s the only time I get to choose a team from anyone, so I thought I’d spoil myself. 

My transfers...

Strikers out, plus the squad members that don’t suit my style.

KDB and Asensio are my two big signings. 

A half-season update will most probably follow soon. But as a teaser, this happened in league game two:

Yep, my star attacking midfielder and one of my two creative midfielders injured, out for 3-4 weeks each. Eek!

Season 1 - Half way update - Germany

So my merry band of strikerless assassins are half way through the German league season. We need 102 goals to set the records. Let’s see the table so far:

69 goals in 17 games. 32 goals in the remaining 17 needed. Obviously this round is easier because I’m Munich, but I’m confident my tactic will follow through to the next round after (assuming I scratch the 32 needed).

Here’s my results so far:

Whilst there are obviously a few 7 and 8 goals hauls in there, my fave results are the Champs Lesgue 2-0 and 3-0 games against Chelsea. Totally schooled the horrible club.

Oh, and KDB got an award.

Thanks mate. It’s the same I used for your Olympics and the Strikerless One Season challenge. I’m going to use it for a strikerless 1kc attempt with Barco after this challenge probably. I’ll send it over in message after I have done those if you fancy a nosey.

Season 1 - The end - Germany

My tactic fell away a bit as the second half of the season, which will be interesting as the challenge goes on - did I get FMMed or did the AI figure me out? Anyhow, we needed 102 goals the progress.... so did we do it?

Of course we did, but not in as much of a 'smashed it' way as I'd hoped. New record of 109 goals. Robben was our top league scorer, where we made up four of the top five.

I now need to find a club good enough in England to get the EPL record, which Man City have annoyingly just bumped up to 106. Here we go...

Thanks mate. Going to be interesting how becomes available and what sort of players I get to use. If anything, it’ll demonstrate if my tactic is plug and play or very specific.
