Let's get started!

For this challenge I will pick a team in the Serie A.

Team of choice:

Napoli.png.e5d2ac16f8ddf08334782558b7f65857.png

Season 1: A Czech or Austrian striker (Josef Bican) + A Brazilian striker (Túlio Maravilha)

Striker One:

bican.jpeg.a624b3cf0514bc17b5a24cd737c65437.jpegburgstaller.jpeg.9e46db95a451d7924e1aeea28509fb39.jpeg

We have Guido Burgstaller as our 'Bican'

Quick History (Josef Bican):

Josef "Pepi" Bican (25 September 1913 – 12 December 2001) was a Czech-Austrian football striker. It is estimated by footballing statistics page Rec.Sport.Soccer Statistics Foundation (RSSSF) that Bican scored about 805 goals in all competitive matches, not including friendly games. This would make him the most prolific scorer in football history with 1468 goals.[1]

He was a member of the Austrian Wunderteam of the 1930s and was the season's highest scorer in the whole of Europe on five separate occasions. Bican had the ability to play with both feet; he also had considerable pace and was able to run 100 metres in 10.8 seconds, which was as fast as many sprinters of the time. The International Federation of Football History & Statistics (IFFHS) awarded Bican the "Golden Ball" as the greatest goalscorer of the last century.

Striker Two:

maravilha.jpeg.aa3572d82c18025a37450927eb4477a9.jpegluizadriano.jpeg.f9be62e25b6b095dbdf24bb017caa876.jpeg

We have Luiz Adriano as our 'Maravilha'

Quick History (Tulio Maravilha):

Túlio Humberto Pereira Costa (born 2 June 1969), sometimes simply referred as Túlio or Túlio Maravilha ("Wonder Túlio"), is a Brazilian international footballer who plays as a forward. He played for many Brazilian club teams, such as Goiás, Botafogo, Corinthians, Vitória, Fluminense, Cruzeiro and Vila Nova and several lower-division teams in Brazil. In Europe, he had short-lived career, playing for Sion and Újpest.

His best years were while he was at Botafogo, where he was three times the Brazilian top scorer (1989, 1994 and 1995) and won the 1995 Campeonato Brasileiro. After this he became a journeyman and never played for the same team for more than one season at most. With the national team, Túlio was famous for scoring a controversial equalizer against Argentina in the quarter-finals of the 1995 Copa América in Uruguay. However, Túlio never played again for the Brazilian national team.

According to himself, he reached the mark of thousand goals in 2014, at 44 years old. This number was only reached, however, by counting goals in friendlies, commemorative games and amateur football.

Season 2: A Brazilian striker (Rómario) + A German striker (Uwe Seeler)

Striker One:

romario.jpeg.001afd5c87bc9d72cfb11b6a92c41cb3.jpegfirmino.jpeg.372f0a83ef8278dc8cdf5de7aae205cd.jpeg

We have Roberto Firmino as our 'Romario'

Quick History (Romario):

Romário de Souza Faria (born 29 January 1966), known simply as Romário (Brazilian Portuguese: [ʁoˈmaɾiu]), is a Brazilianpolitician, who previously achieved worldwide fame as a professional footballer. A prolific striker renowned for his clinical finishing, he is regarded as one of the greatest players of all time.[2][3] Romário starred for Brazil in their 1994 FIFA World Cup triumph, receiving the FIFA Golden Ball as player of the tournament. He was named FIFA World Player of the Year the same year. He came fifth in the FIFA Player of the Century internet poll in 1999, was elected to the FIFA World Cup Dream Team in 2002, and was named in the FIFA 100 list of the world's greatest living players in 2004.[4][5]

At club level, after developing his early career in Brazil, Romário moved to PSV Eindhoven in the Netherlands in 1988. During his five seasons at PSV the club became Eredivisie champions three times, and he scored a total of 165 goals in 167 games. In 1993, he moved to FC Barcelona and became part of Johan Cruyff's "Dream Team", forming an exceptional strike partnership with Hristo Stoichkov. He won La Liga in his first season and finished top goalscorer with 30 goals in 33 matches. During the second half of his career Romário played for clubs within the city of Rio de Janeiro in Brazil. He won the Brazilian league title with CR Vasco da Gama in 2000 and was a three-time top scorer in the league. At the end of his career he also played briefly in Qatar, the United States and Australia.

With 55 goals in 70 appearances for Brazil, Romário is the third-highest goalscorer for his national team, ranking only behind Peléand Ronaldo.[6] He is second on the all-time list of Brazilian league's top scorers with 154 goals. While finishing as a top goalscorer in many different competitions, he is one of very few strikers to surpass the mark of 1,000 goals,[7] and is the second-most prolific goalscorer in the history of football.

Striker Two:

seeler.jpeg.992ef981c21ce6d28a2fc953a9f28951.jpegwagner.jpeg.7c7938e35028dc4bde76fca15129d934.jpeg

We have Sandro Wagner as our 'Seeler'

Quick History (Uwe Seeler):

Uwe Seeler (born 5 November 1936) is a German former footballer and football official. As a striker, he played for Hamburger SVand also made 72 appearances for the West German national team. Usually regarded as one of the greatest players in German football history,[2] in 2004, he was named as one of FIFA's 125 greatest living players, by Pelé. His grandson, Levin Öztunalı, is also a professional footballer.

Seeler followed in his father's footsteps as a player for Hamburger SV, making his first team debut in 1954 in a DFB-Pokal match, aged just under 18, scoring four goals (8–2 vs. Holstein Kiel). In later years, despite tempting offers from Italian and Spanish clubs, he remained loyal to Hamburg, working on a second career as a merchant besides playing football.

Seeler was a gifted, powerful, and prolific striker who, among other things, was most of all renowned for his leadership, consistency, overhead kicks, and aerial ability.[3] He scored 137 times in 239 Bundesliga games, 43 times in 72 international games for the German national team, and 21 times in 29 European club tournament games. He was captain of both his club team and the national team for many years. He and his club won the German championship in 1960 and the DFB-Pokal in 1963. He was top scorer of the first Bundesliga season in 1963–64 and German Footballer of the Year in 1960, 1964 and 1970. During the 1960–61 season, Seeler, alongside his brother Dieter, helped to lead Hamburger SV to the semi-finals of the European Cup, where they narrowly missed out on the final against Benfica, losing out to Barcelona in a play-off match. During the 1967–68 season, Seeler also helped Hamburg to reach the final of the European Cup Winners' Cup, finishing the competition as top scorer, only to lose out to AC Milan.[4]

In 1978, he and his former teammate Franz-Josef Hönig played for Cork Celtic F.C. in a one-off sponsored event. Seeler had ended his active playing career in 1972. However, this match turned out to be an official League of Ireland one and Uwe scored twice.[5]Thus, his overall record of goals scored in league and championship matches adds up to 446 (HSV 444,[6] Cork Celtic 2). His 404 goals in German Oberliga and Bundesliga league games is a record that stands as today, his 406 goals in league games overall making him the second-best German goalscorer behind Gerd Müller.

Season 3: A Brazilian striker (Pelé) + A Hungarian striker (Ferenc Deák)

Striker One:

pele.jpeg.0f19eddca84561b6185c61d356335bc7.jpegricharlison.jpeg.a33deb47d1d4f85606306577b2ffed27.jpeg

We have Richarlison as our 'Pele'. Wanted to get a better status player, Gabriel Jesus for this one but the transfer situation didn't allow me to. Guess he would have to do!

Quick History (Pele):

Edson Arantes do Nascimento (Brazilian Portuguese: [ˈɛtsõ (w)ɐˈɾɐ̃tʃiz du nɐsiˈmẽtu]; born 23 October 1940), known as Pelé ([peˈlɛ]), is a Brazilian retired professional footballer who played as a forward. He is regarded by many in the sport, including football writers, players, and fans, as the greatest football player of all time. In 1999, he was voted World Player of the Century by the International Federation of Football History & Statistics (IFFHS), and was one of the two joint winners of the FIFA Player of the Century award. That same year, Pelé was elected Athlete of the Century by the International Olympic Committee. According to the IFFHS, Pelé is the most successful league goal-scorer in the world, scoring 1281 goals in 1363 games, which included unofficial friendlies and tour games. During his playing days, Pelé was for a period the best-paid athlete in the world.

Pelé began playing for Santos at age 15 and the Brazil national football team at 16. During his international career, he won three FIFA World Cups: 1958, 1962 and 1970, being the only player ever to do so. Pelé is the all-time leading goalscorer for Brazil with 77 goals in 92 games. At club level he is the record goalscorer for Santos, and led them to the 1962 and 1963 Copa Libertadores. Pelé's "electrifying play and penchant for spectacular goals" made him a star around the world, and his teams toured internationally in order to take full advantage of his popularity. Since retiring in 1977, Pelé has been a worldwide ambassador for football and has made many acting and commercial ventures. In 2010, he was named the Honorary President of the New York Cosmos.

Pelé has also been known for connecting the phrase "The Beautiful Game" with football. A prolific goalscorer, Pelé was known for his ability to strike powerful and accurate shots with both feet in addition to anticipating his opponents' movements on the field. Early in his career, he played in a variety of attacking formations and would use his dribbling skills to go past opponents. In his later career, he played in a playmaking role behind offensive strikers. In Brazil, he is hailed as a national hero for his accomplishments in football and for his outspoken support of policies that improve the social conditions of the poor. Throughout his career and in his retirement, Pelé received several individual and team awards for his performance in the field, his record-breaking achievements, and legacy in the sport.

We have Norbert Balogh as our 'Deak'

Quick History (Deak):

Ferenc Deák (16 January 1922 – 18 April 1998) was a Hungarian footballer who played as a striker for teams such as Szentlőrinci AC, Ferencváros and Budapesti Dózsa. With 576 goals scored during his career, Deák is the eighth top goalscorer of all time.
