It’s time to reveal which teams will be playing in the final next week and which will be fighting it out for 3rd place and also the standings in the race for the Golden Mobile Award.

This week’s challenge was all about the youngest (Norman Whiteside) and oldest (Hassan El Hadery) players to appear at the World Cup finals. You all had to create a squad made up of players with unique ages with your youngest player being a striker and oldest a goalkeeper. You were then scored on your strikers league goals, your goalkeepers clean sheets + which ever had the lowest AvR added to the score as well. One team member took control of Everton the other Galatasaray.

The first thing to report is that everyone manged to create their squads properly and got me the right screenshots so no points needed to be deducted.

Here is a reminder of the fixtures this week.

Wales V Australia

Let’s start with the Welsh lads scores first.

@Taff was tasked with taking over at Everton and he brought in 19 year old Wolfsburg striker Victor Osimhen for £24m. It would prove to be an average signing as he scored 21 league goals in 30 games. With an average showing could Taff make up for that with a solid defensive display? He signed Heurelho Gomes who is 37 from Watford for £2.7m and he would go on to turn back the clock only letting 11 goals get past him in 38 games. That included 29 clean sheets although Gomes still had the lower AvR at 7.05.

Taff Scored

21 goal pts + 29 clean sheets + 7.05= 57.05 pts

@Nucleus was sent to Turkey and spent £13m on 16 year old Dutch striker Joshua Zirkzee and nothing at all on 36 year old French goalkeeper Cedric Carrasso. Just like his team mate he got a very impressive clean sheet total with 24 in the league which was slightly less than Taff but it came in less games. He scored more goals with his striker than Taff as Zirkzee got 36 goals in the 34 league games he played. Carraso had the lowest AvR at 6.88  despit only 13 goals conceded all season.

Nucleus Scored

38 goal pts + 24 clean sheet pts + 6.88 = 66.88pts

Wales scored 123.93 points

A very impressive showing as a team and personally from the two Welsh lads and a score that was going to take some beating.

@Real_Random was tasked with taking over at Everton and he brought in Vibe legend Isak as his striker from Dortmund for £30m and as his goalkeeper he used 35 year old Maarten Stekelenburg. Despite being one of this years games top wonderkids RR could only get 13 goals from Isak in 32 league games and it wasn’t much better at the back as Steklenburg only managed 6 clean sheets all season with an AvR of 6.61.

Real Random Scored

13 goal pts + 6 clean sheet pts + 6.61 = 25.61

It was going to take a huge score from @RipRip if Australia were going to make the final and unfortunately it wasn’t to be as he failed to submit a score this week.

Wales 123.93pts

Bt

Australia 25.61 pts

Wales are the first team into the final but who will they play Benelux or England?

Benelux Vs England

Benelux went into this semi-final as not just favourites to win it but also the whole competition but we will look at England’s scores first.

In charge of Everton was the Potteries Geordie himself @Woody. He went for Italian wonderkid Moise Kean who he got from Juventus for £25m and in goal he had Real Madrid legend Iker Casillas who cost him £4.5m from Porto. Kean failed to smash it up in the Premier league but he had a respectable 25 goals in his 32 league games. At the back Casillas secured his manager a decent total of 12 clean sheets and an AvR 6.97.

Woody Scored

25 goal pts + 12 clean sheet pts + 6.97 = 43.97 points

A decent start for England as they look for a place in the final but could Rob build on that start?

Obviously @Rob2017 was in Turkey taking charge of Galatasaray and we see the appearance of yet another FMM18 wonderkid with him buying Rodrygo from Santos for £6.5m and he went for the oldest goalkeeper in the final as he brought in 41 year old Italian Marco Storari. Rodrygo loved his season in Istanbul as he scored a semi-final high of 44 goals in 34 league games to give Rob a good start but at the back Storari couldn’t roll back the years as he only managed to keep 7 clean sheets with an AvR of 6.85.

Rob2017 Scored

44 goal pts + 7 clean sheet pts + 6.85 = 57.85 pts

England Scored 101.82

A decent total for England but would it be enough against a team that contain the current Vibe No1 PriZe?

Having completed a 2Kc with him last year it was no surprise that @PriZe spent £41.5m (you over spent compared to Woody!) on Isak and he repaid that faith with 41 goals in 38 league games for the toffees. In goal he brought big Tim Howard back to Merseyside in a deal worth £2.1m and he helped himself to 14 clean sheets in 38 games with an AvR of 6.94.

Spoiler

PriZe Scored

41 goal pts + 14 clean sheet pts + 6.94 = 61.94 pts

That meant that if @Titjes could score 39.89 points or more in his attempt then the two tournament favourites would play each other in the final!

It wasn’t to be as Titjes was unable to post a score this week😯 He was kind enough to message myself and PriZe and explain that he has been swamped at work and simply didn’t have time to play and of course life has to come first for us all.

England 101.82

Bt

Benelux 61.94 pts

That means we see the two great rival nations of Wales and England clash in the final to be crowned as Vibe World Cup 2018 winners!

1885718672_Finalstreefinal.thumb.png.9c50db6db0abb167e9502648a9b36261.png

In the third place playoff we will see Australia take on Benelux and fingers crossed we will get everyone submitting a score but if we have a situation where team 1 has both members submit but only one member submits on the other side I will take the best score from team 1 and put that up against the other team to get a fair result to the match up (this is only for the 3rd placed playoff not the final).

The Golden Mobile Award

I rounded down everyone's score this week to make it a round number E.g Prize scored 61.94 pts so I rounded down to 61 pts for the table. Nucleus had the best score this week and this ensured that he leap frogged his team mate into 2nd place in the table 11 points behind PriZe so with one more round of games next week it is still up fro grabs with PriZe, Nucleus and Taff all in with a shout of taking home the MVP award.

If scores are equal next week then the competitor who made the final will take precedence.

Congratulations to the finalists! Their will now be a couple of rest days until I release the final challenge so that it fits in better with my family holiday so expect the challenge on Tuesday evening.

Cheers lads

Another cracking write up @Foxy and a shame for both @Titjes and @RipRip not to submit, but sometimes these things can't be helped

But a Wales vs Shitland final is mouth watering and with the form my partner @Nucleus is in those English mongrels @Rob2017 and @Woody butter watch out

"Maen dod yn catref"
