I have to ask and it may be abit cheeky possibly border line insulting but, was it a totally planned design or a i just happened to stumble across it.

I'm not saying it was blind luck that you came across this, i just wondered.

Sometimes i find something that works as a basic consistant tactic but you can't quite figure out that last little tweek that turns it into an awesome 1kc tactic or a TT and so on.

The Double Trouble career with Kane and Sané was planned. I loaded up the test save and I thought “right what sort of mental formation can I come up with”. The formation you see in the tactics post is the original formation. The player roles have changed slightly whilst testing before I settled on what it is now. The funny thing about the whole thing is that the “test” season is season one in this career. It went so well I thought I may as well carry on from where I was! The 2k target wasn’t set until I spoke to Sam about it, I asked his views on it and he advised to aim for 2000 goals with the side aim being 1k each, and that’s when the career was born

Really? He never has for me when I’ve used him in the past. I don’t really like using players with low teamwork attributes. Especially in a goal scoring challenge

Similar to @Nucleus I found that Dembele didn't assist much when I had him at Barca in a save earlier in the year and I got rid of him because of that. I always look for teamwork in my creative players and I found a similar thing with De Bruyne although it seems he has assisted plenty for you in this save Nuke.

Mainly from corners for De Bruyne! That’s one of the reasons I shipped him. Scoring way too many for my liking. Pogba seems to be a better fit than De Bruyne In these sort of challenges imo

I’ve learnt to not use Pogba or KDB unless for corners, as Nuke says. Dele tends to be my go to AP as his teamwork is great.

Left sided AP, with Pulisic on the right. Both have 20’s in dribbling, creativity and movement with 19&17 decisions and 17&16 in teamwork, probably the best pairing I’ve used in those spots since the career started

I’ve actually switched him to a BWM and moved him up to the CM spot. This is what I’m using currently..

Slight spoiler in the fact I brought Diawara back to the club 😅

Moved him up to the CM spot simply because of the DM bug that sadly still exists in the game. An average rating of 7.14 for the season so far is something I can live with though.

Edit: it’s actually not a spoiler as you’ve not seen him leave the club yet! That’s in the next update 😂

Nobody apart from Sané has a teamwork rating less than 15! I may change the BWM again as from my experience of the role on the EME it’s slightly broken. Yet on the OME it’s one of the best roles out there. Just ask @Ashez and he’ll tell you all about Wanyama 😂

Season 7 

It was turning into a race against time now as Kane made the jump into his 30’s, whilst Sané still had some ground to make up to catch up to his partner.

 

Transfers:

Diawara makes the move to Benfica whilst someone finally comes in for Dembele, a nice £79 million profit from him after his free transfer to the club. Young Englishman Phil Foden makes the move down south to Watford, he wasn’t getting much game time and I was happy to receive £20m for him.

João Felix is the big money signing this summer as he arrived from Benfica for £60m. Christian Pulisic comes in as a free agent along with backup goalkeeper Strakosha.

Manager Profile & Season History:

Our domestic player bias has really taken a hit and I can only think of Stones, Sterling and Rashford as our English contingency, I may have to look at this in the future but the temptation of these super European players is just too tempting.

We miss out on the European Super Cup after Liverpool best us 5-4 in a thriller of a match. On another note we hit 184 in the league which is a personal best! Happy with that

The Double Trouble

 

Harry Kane:

Into his 30’s now but the big man is looking as good as ever.

And he proves it by netting consecutive 92’s. That puts him on 650 career goals, 350 to go and due to his age this is going down to the wire in my opinion.

Leroy Sané:

The teams main creative force. Sané has been involved in more goals than Kane including assists, but I’d like to see him score a little bit more. He managed a respectable 77 last time out and I’d like to eclipse that.

Unfortunately he doesn’t. But 73 is still a fair amount, he missed a few games this season through injury so I’m hoping that doesn’t turn into a regular thing

1,129 goals between them in seven short years. So barring any major drama I should be eligible for the leaderboard after the next update, but we’ve still got a long way to go until we hit that magical 2,000 goal target.

Season 8 

Last season you saw us smash the 1,000 mark for the career and we are just 71 goals away from being eligible for the leaderboard. Kane is a 171 goals ahead of Sané so it was time for the German to push on this season and become the main man.

Transfers:

Just the one outgoing this season as Mateo Kovacic makes his return to Real Madrid. He never really lit it up under the grey skies of Manchester, with the sun on his back in Madrid he may yet go on to great things, who knows.

Yeah, nothing much to say. I was happy with the squad I had and didn’t feel the need to splash the cash unnecessarily. I’d rather invest the money straight into the wage budget as I may need it another time.

Manager Profile & Season History:

We are averaging 4.4 goals per game which is just crazy! Again, the domestic bias is low and I’d like to fix that but I just can’t see any viable options to fit into the squad.

Clean sweep once again on the trophy front. With the squad at my disposal it would be a failure if it wasn’t.

Harry Kane:

He’ll be 32 by the time next season comes around but my god he still looks awesome. His physicals are fluctuating throughout the year and have gone as low as 13 pace and 13 stamina but they always creep back up to 15 & 15. Still got all the necessary attributes of a top striker and long may that continue.

Meh. I believe that’s his worst campaign so far. 62 goals is a number I can live with, however I’d like to see one more big total from him just to ease the burden during his twilight years.

Leroy Sané:

No doubt who the main man of this squad is now, you’re looking at him. Great pace, dribbling, movement and shooting makes him a force to be reckoned with. He needed a good season...

He got one! I did not expect that from Sané, he hits a century for the first time, that’s our third in the career when you count Kane’s two centuries. He moves onto 583 goals and we smash the Double Trouble challenge! 1,295 goals from the pair, and we aren’t even finished!

Season 9

Last season saw us smash the 1,200 goal mark required in a double trouble challenge, but we’re not finished yet. With around 700 goals to go to my target of 2000, it was turning into a race against time as both Kane and Sané enter their thirties.

Transfers:

Pablo Maffeo leaves for Swansea City in a £3m deal, whilst João Felix becomes a Chelsea player in a part exchange deal. 

That players is non other than Kai Havertz, and he cost the maximum £225m+João Felix, they just wouldn’t accept any less and he was a player I desperately needed as he fits the AP role perfectly. Amadou Diawara returns to the club after his brief hiatus in Portugal, whilst Maxym Slepko, a Ukrainian full back joins us from Monaco. Philippe Coutinho completes the lineup as he joins from Barcelona on a free transfer.

Manager Profile & Season History:

Weve now scored over 2.5k goals as a team, whilst my manager Profile is looking half decent with a few 20’s now on the board.

Yet another clean sweep as we brush aside the competition in emphatic fashion once again.

 

The Double Trouble

 

Harry Kane:

A somewhat poor season last time around for the big man as he could only muster 62 goals for the season, i was hoping for a return to form from him this time around.

Yes! 73 goals is a very decent total and that puts him on 785 for the career. We’ve not got long left with him as he will be turning 33 at the start of next season, 215 goals from a 33 year old is a fairly big ask but I’m confident of Kane’s abilities.

Leroy Sané:

The undoubted star of the show after his heroic century break last season. The German is into his 30’s now but with no International football to deal with i find him very easy to keep fit.

He returns this time around with 85 goals for the season. A very decent total that puts him on 668 goals for the career. With a good few years left in the tank I’ll be trying to make him the focal point in future seasons just to be on the safe side.

Nearly 75% complete. 1,453 goals is the total from our front two and we are edging ever closer to that 2,000 goal mark.
