Career The Fabled Number 10 Shirt: A Juventus Challenge

I will start pretty simple:

Hi, my name is... Varf. I'm new to the community. 

I've been looking at some Challenges/Careers and this one somehow got my attention. So I thought "Why don't give it a go, it's only 7 seasons. Not like a 1KC wich lasts forever))"

so here it is...

SEASON 1. The Irish

In my opinion there could be only two suitable players: Arter and Hendrick. Arter is just a bit more of CM or DM than Hendrick so it was no brainer no pick second. 

Unfortunately I didn't get a screen of him "before" but here is "after"

I have to admit that I've played the game for years but I have never scored and conceded that many goals in one season...

But I figured to beat the challenge my team need to score as many goals as possible and have most passes from my #10 alongside with few goals. Still need to figure out defense issues... but anyway

I am one of those guys who takes a team and sells most of the players in order to bring best of the best or just my favorites

Not really a surprise that scoring nearly 200 goals helped me secure all of competitions I've participated in. 

Starting with Italian Super Cup

Followed by early Serie A 

Italian Cup

and Champions League 

Like I mentioned before I have never scored so many goals and these stats are little overwhelming for me

Never used Hendrick in any position but AMC and he accomplished a lot 

 

Season 1: 23+38= 51 points

I'm back with second update of this crusade. Trying not to keep you waiting forever cause I believe it kills the intrigue. 

Season 2. The French

I've been looking at lots of players and of course there are some very good established ones. But not a lot of clubs can afford to buy a World class lad in it's second season. 

Another factor is that I wanted to go a different path then my predecessor @Titjes He took Tolisso who is a hell of a player. 

And even though he had this lad later on in his career I bought him to be next Fabulous 10. 

Introducing... Thomaaaas Leeeemaaaaaar (to be fare it sounded much better in my head while I was writing it)

again no "before" photo but look at his stats. It is ridiculous how some players are so good in their early 20s. 

This season was good as well. I tweaked a few things and actually kept tweaking it throughout the season. We didn't score as many goals but our goalie did a bit better as well

If we'll look at it at a different perspective Not goals per game But goals per goal conceded this season was even better. Scoring 3.1 goals per 1 conceded against 2.55 last season. 

Anyhow enough of talking... here is how we went in second season. 

Players IN

was lucky to sign Goretzka for free and Zapata, well he was a p/ex for Milinkovic-Savic in January. I had to get another good CM/box-to-box

Players OUT

not sure why but Pjanic didn't fit in my tactic. 

We opened the season with Euro Super Cup

Followed with Italian Super Cup

Woohoo Club World Ch'ship (like somebody cares about it)

29 games in a season and we get pronounced the one and only in Serie A

Killed it in Italian Cup

and finished of with Second in a row CL

Poor Arsenal... They encountered us twice and both times in big final games. Have to give them some credit for this CL final. They almost won if it wasn't for Perica with his 90+1 goal. 

Overall I believe it was a pretty good season with plenty of goals and fun games. Going to be working of netting more goals and putting a better defense. Here is stats for this season. Goals and Assists accordingly

As you can see Thomas Lemar is the top dog both ways. So choosing Lemar over Tolisso paid off. As well as I think Lemar's season was the best in @Titjes career. He is truly amazing player for any job in final third. He'll score, he'll assist, he'll do whatever it takes for the win. 

I'm even sure that I will be able to have a better number 10 for the rest of this career. 

Season 1: 23+38= 51 points

Season 2: 39+40= 79 points

Total 130 and five seasons to go

Another year of ups and downs with Juventus and I'm back with somewhat satisfying results. 

Season 3. The Italian

Getting harder and harder to persuade good players to join and to make other teams to sell them. 

Unfotunarly I forgot to make ss of transfers in and out. Just the main guy

I mean we are talking about £150+ mil for a guy. For some reason no one wanted to buy Lemar for a while and I only got £90 mil for him. 

Season went somewhat smooth with 1 loss and 4 draws untill the last 11 games. Somehow I managed to draw 4 more times in last 11 games of the season. 

Still netted 3.39 goals against every conceded one. 

I had to meet with Roma couple too many times this season starting with Euro Super Cup and Italian Super Cup. Not sure they were exited much 

Another Club World Ch'ship

I was right to consider thise two games very easy and used second team for both. And just around New Year Pellegrini got injured for 3 weeks. Pretty upsetting cause he was on a road to beat Lemar's score. 

Italian League may be not as convincing as the last two but still a win

Italian Cup 

And Champions League wasn't as easy as before

Overall successful season with much more clean sheets but kind of boring. 5-4 or 8-3 is more fun in my opinion  

So Lorenzo was top gun just as Lemar but that injury blew it for him. 

£155 mil for a guy is times more of what I paid for Lemar. 

 

Season 1: 23+38= 51 points

Season 2: 39+40= 79 points

Season 3: 43+30= 73 points

Total 203 points from 3 fabulous players with Hendrick been the worst so far. 

Season 4 will take a bit longer. Taking some time to go see Liverpool (my favorite) meeting with Borussia Dortmund in USA

Consistency is good but I'm trying to reach a 100 points in a season. Could have done it with like 90 goals but then it's a different challenge lol

Season 4. The Italian Job

Another year with another Italian. I was trying to get him last season but Pellegrini agreed first. Not very much difference in this lads so it wasn't to crucial to get this one over the other one last season. But in season 4 he was my only option to play next #10. 

Let me introduce you the maestro of goals and passes Riccardo Orsolini

Even though he is not a natural AMC I've never played him otherwise I even tried to retrain position but he just wouldn't adapt to it. He wasn't stubborn and continued retraining but no results.

Season was good just as any. 192 goals agains 75 my goalie didn't catch. 

Not as good as I wanted but my main goal was to bring Orsolini to the glory. 

Won everything there is again. I was very surprised to see Shakhtar in CL Final and they put up a fight...

Orsolini beat everyone's score but still couldn't reach a 100 mark

He was so close but could not make it due to tiredness he missed a few games or wasn't 100% ready to perform. 

Overall teams stats aren't overwhelming but somewhat impressive. 5 people scored over 10 and 3 of them scored over 30 goals. Along with 5 lads having 10+ assists 

Season 1: 23+38= 51 points

Season 2: 39+40= 79 points

 Season 3: 43+30= 73 points

Season 4: 45+46= 91 points

Total of 294 points in four seasons. Definitely  going to beat the top score so @danovic78 get ready to add me to the leaderboard

Season 5. The Argentinian

Didn't take long for another season to go by. And I've learned that Argentina not as full of AMC these days or at least they aren't worthy in my opinion. I wanted to bet on tremendous experience and skill of Messi but he is ending his career this year therefore won't go anywhere. And next in line for that #10 jersey was Angel Correa. 

I have to admit I was very surprised and pleased up untill December...

and then another disappointment in March 

and one more

Before injuries it really felt like an angel flying over the pitch doing miracles. And not only Correa, I think we've had few too many injuries but we stood strong

224 goals for the team and 78 for my goalie 😅

Like I mentioned before, up untill December we didn't struggle whatsoever. But after we had a few unnecessary ties and losses.

And then a huge disappointment in the very end of the season

We got outplayed completely. Well I knew my tactic is leaky but this still hurts.

Here it is, 89 points in 52 games but I'd say ten of these games were either 45' and sub out or sub in on 65'-75' hoping he'll get at least one point. He even had a game with rating 4 after being subd in late in game. I can't stress enough how much I wanted him to get to that unreachable mark of 💯 point.

Season stats are solid. 4 players had 😱 30+ goals

Here I am back with 6th update of this Juventus career. It was an interesting journey so far but I couldn't reach my own goal of 💯 points in a season. So I was wondering who should I choose to be next French #10 and unlike Argetina France has lots of ridiculously good midfielders. Earlier I mentioned that I'll take Pogba but then I realized that he played in Juve and was one of the #10 this challenge based on... and you think about it little bit too long I could have sold Dybala and bought him back for this challenge. Wouldn't that be "cheating" in some way. 

I came down to two players. I really wanted Griezmann to be my next hero but lack of stamina due to his age spooked me. 

So meet our next #10

As always ss is after his season. This year I got lucky and my 10 didn't get any injuries just a game or two to rest. But most of the time I only gave him half a game to rest. 

I figured in order to reach a 💯 points mark we need to score more than usual. And IT happened:

242 goals is my absolute record. I do have confused feelings about the amount of goals we conceded. On one hand we won everything there is on the other- our opponents netted nearly a 100 goals. 

Not much of reinforcements this year 

most of them are free. I was surprised to ONLY pay £53 mil for Mbappe. And I kept Griezmann only till January. I was right about lack of stamina, he couldn't keep up as a wingman.  

Turned out I made some profit this year 😂 If there was such concern in this game I only spent 130-ish mil more than I earned in transfers. It's salaries what eats up most of budget. Some of my lads get 750k salaries 😱

We made a "statement" in our first game for Italian Super Cup even playing shorthanded. French trio made the game with Griez and Kylian being IFs.

Since we lost CL final we don't get Euro Super Cup or Club World Ch'ship. 

No problem with Italian League again. Couldn't finish unbeaten though 

Man I've got to tell you... I was laughing so bad when I saw Roma's tactic for Italian Cup Final after I scored 3 goals in first 20 minutes  

It wasn't as funny in CL final. As you can see Dembele scored on 94' not 90+4'. I mean 30 shots in 120-ish minutes = 1 goal woohoo 🎉 

Ousmane Dembelé scored 60 goals alongside with 55 assists totaling in 115 points. Little bit overachieved my goal but you know more is always better.

Off topic: who's regens do you think these lads are? One was "born" in Juventus and second in ATM. My best guess: Pirlo and Ronaldinho

I didn't used to either, but I got into it last save and now I'm a bit addicted. It goes way further than I suspected. Many many many players are regens, it's not just the top ones. I wouldn't be surprised to find out all new players in the game were regens (even the really bad players). I actually wished they changed more so you couldn't identify them easily. But oh well, it's part of the game, just like the "move all budget to wages before the new season" thing. 🙂

Hello hello again. I'm back with 7th and the last update on this challenge. 

It has been an interesting journey and my first completed challenge. 

I'll tell right away I did not reach a 600 mark. And basically it's Hendrick's fault, remember first season? But also I might of miss calculated my next leader. Indeed a leader should wear #10 jersey. 

Meet Zaracho

Very good stats to move around the pitch like crazy and create chances. He didn't want to retrain his position to be true AMC. And he is indeed a winger. I thought I'd be able to get more from him but I probably should've gone with Lo Celso but again I didn't have much options. 

85 points is still a great result. And 583 points is so far best and may be will stay the best due to unpopularity of this challenge and upcoming release of next FMM. 

We wont everything wich is a must be cause you need as many games as possible to beat any challenge. 

This year I didn't feel the need in any transfers

Still somewhat disappointing season for me. I felt that Zaracho wont pull 102 point about halfway in the season and kind lost interest to it. 

Anyhow goals and assists are here 

But these 1411 goals in 414 games are ridiculous!!3.41 goals per game during 7 seasons with 1.21 against me wich is high. And only 10 losses. I know there are people here that could do much better but for me it's really good.

As you can see not every year my #10 was a player of the year wich doesn't make sence to me

and why exactly AI chose 4-5-1 formation for all time best 11?

And Hendrick? I mean I'll just roll with it. This game has it's own understanding of "best".
