2023 Calendar Year Challenge

Last year saw Mbappé blow Messi’s record out the water. Could he somehow manage to outdo himself yet again?

Well the first six months of 2023 were his most successful to date as he managed to score a huge 65 goals. That meant all he needed was 27 goals in the second half of the year to yet again break the record.

Without a doubt he has done it, and convincingly too as he scores 52 goals yet again in the opening half of the season to take his calendar year tally up to 117 goals, 16 more than initially needed.

Challenge Totals:

2018: 69

2019: 76

2020: 92 ✅

2021: 89

2022: 104 ✅

2023: 117 ✅

Need everything to go right to replicate a season like that. It’s more or less two goals per game, form is bound to take a hit at some point, then injuries are no doubt going to effect a few of the seasons. Thanks for the optimism though! 😂

LOL, this is an old strange career from last year, when you have to get all the past EPL teams back in the EPL again, by whatever means necessary. All sort of bending the rules is allowed. Like buying crap players for £150M from the club you are about to move to (so you have money to spend when you get there). At one point I signed Armstrong who I'd used for a real 1KC and though, why not do it again. A lot of fun, but not a real 1KC...

That's some optical illusion type shit! On a second viewing I noticed the AM but I still have to think about it lol. So never mind it appears ML/R's are still dead lol.

Transfers

Outgoing:

 Mendy originally left us on loan before Everton signed him in January, Kurt Zouma found himself wanting regular game time so off he went to Bayern Munich and Marco Verratti was reluctantly sold to Barcelona on the cheap. Verratti’s a great player this year but I found myself wanting someone a bit more physical in the side.

Incoming:

In came two new full backs in the form of Alex Pinto and Theo Hernandez, Pinto has developed into a truly all around monster in this save so £85m should prove to be a snip. After seeing @Rob2017‘s efforts with Asensio I had to try him myself and luckily I managed to get him in on a free transfer from our main domestic rivals Monaco, that could prove to be a major coup.

• European Super Cup - Beat AC Milan 3-2
• Club World Cup - Beat Chivas 2-0
• Coupe de la Ligue - Beat Montpellier 4-1

Kylian Mbappé 1k Challenge:

His 117 goal antics last season really got my hopes up, and if it wasn’t for an injury around February he would have undoubtedly hit a 100+ season yet again. We have to settle for 95 however, which in just 54 games is around the same ratio as last season.

Goals: 629

 

Kai Havertz Assists Challenge

No injuries for this man though as he plays in 65 games this season and assisted a huge 54 times. The lack of international football really helps the Germans in my opinion as every couple of months they have a decent break from football to recuperate.

Assists: 338

 

Triple Threat Assists Challenge

Alaba needed only six more assists to complete his part of the challenge. With Havertz already finished that would leave only Mbappé left, and with ample time to do it. We’ve already seen Mbappé’s total of 10 assists and Havertz’s total of 54. Now what about Alaba in his new found IWB role? Well 15 assists from the Austrian is his best return so far and he smashes his target of 51 assists. I’ve found Alaba to be really injury prone in this save, with 54 appearances being the most he’s managed in a season. Still, I’m glad he’s over the line.

Challenge Totals:

Alaba - 60/51 ✅

Havertz - 338/162 ✅

Mbappé- 71/102

1.5k is the target for Mbappe, Havertz should hit over 600 at this rate with ease too. Thanks Scratch

2024 Calendar Year Challenge

Apologies for the delay again lads, mad busy at the minute In my real life and here on Vibe.

So as you may have noticed in the last update, Mbappé had a slight injury at the back end of the season that derailed a certain 100+ season. So this years Challenge was already at the brink of failing. He scored us 43 goals between January and the end of the season which left us needing a huge 49 goals in the second half of the year to beat the challenge once again.

Unfortunately Mbappé falls just short this year with 45 goals, a total of 88 for the Calendar Year. Unfortunate, but these things happen!

Season Eight

Been a while Vibe! 😅 Currently suffering from FMM burnout so not been playing the game much to be honest. I do however have an update on season eight for you!

Transfers

Outgoing:

Just the two departures this year as I  happily allowed Draxler and Rabiot to leave for Barcelona and Manchester City respectively. Both of them had become unhappy at their playing time, so with two replacements lined up I allowed the transfers to go through.

Incoming:

Not a single penny spent. Amiri returns to the club after a brief hiatus down in the south of France at Monaco, and Arthur comes in as our new central midfielder. Both players are in their prime so I was expecting them to hit the ground running, although unfortunately Amiri still loathes me from his previous tenure at the club so his arrival may be a one season thing 😂

Competitions:

• Trophée des Champions - Beat Lille 2-0
• European Super Cup- Beat Real Madrid 5-3
• Club World Cup- Beat Saitama UTD 4-2
• Coupe de la Ligue - Beat SM Caen 1-0

What more can I say about this lad, quickly running out of superlatives to describe him. He’s had an excellent season, including this fantastic performance against Toulouse which saw him score six goals and assisting another three in a 9-1 victory!

Overall he managed to play 60 games for us this season and scored an astounding 103 goals for the club. Super happy with how this challenge is going!

Kai Havertz Assists Challenge:

As above, I’m running out of superlatives for this man too. He had his best goal scoring year for us this season, which saw him net 43 goals across the campaign, and he kept up his assists ratio with 51 to add to his total. He had his best AvR to date too with that sitting at a cool 8.22!

Games: 457

Assists: 389

Triple Threat Assists Challenge:

That brings us to our final challenge, where we’ve already completed 2/3 of it. We only need Mbappé to cross the line with his assists now to be eligible for a place on the leaderboard. So we’ve already seen Mbappé’s total of 17, and Havertz’s total of 51. Now for David Alaba, who had his best campaign to date with 16 assists across the season. This was actually Mbappé’s best season assists wise too so I couldn’t be happier with how this season has gone overall.

 

Challenge Totals:

Alaba - 76/51 ✅

Havertz - 389/162 ✅

Mbappé- 88/102

2025 Calendar Year Challenge

So after failing this challenge last year I desperately wanted to make amends. Some luck is needed but a tactical tweak has also paid dividends in my opinion. From January to the end of the season, Mbappé managed to score a very respectable 58 goals for us as he produced a century year which you can find in the last update. That bodes well for the second half of the year as he only needs 34 or more goals to beat the challenge yet again.

Beat it he did, in emphatic fashion too! 48 goals for the second half of the year gives him a lovely tally of 106 goals for the Calendar Year.
