Congrats on completing the Fernando Peyroteo Challenge! Kudos mate.

As for the rest, all ticking along nicely, even Alaba. I know it's not much, but if he can maintain 10 a year for a few years, then he'll make it no worries.

But man, that Lyon game is classic FMM. No way you should have lost that! And FMM throws in the disallowed goal, just to give you that moment of hope before twisting the knife in your gut...

Thanks Scratch!

Yeah im confident he can get there either way, I’d just prefer him to do it more emphatically rather than stumble over the line.

Typical FMM! The domination, the red card, the offside goal 🙄

2021 Calendar Year Challenge

After completing this challenge last year by a single goal, I was really hoping that Mbappé could smash the target down this year. He gave me a hell of an opportunity to do just that in the first half of the year as he managed to score a very respectable 46 goals.

3C189B7C-50B9-4710-8E8C-C7C5B4553960.thumb.png.c09a87260fb4a979adbb7c2ea6249443.png114DFF2E-F3B7-49D6-B873-D16FE013D648.thumb.png.4f8bf1c66bab40e95c6ad2d7332ce9af.pngA34912E8-6394-4C1A-886E-D175A7914F06.thumb.png.d73d16e4c73dda7fc12189a2e0d1d5c3.png0FD9760E-F835-4FD8-A5CE-069D59E568B5.thumb.png.b1bd1209ddb351efa079ab0856bbc79a.png

So Mbappé had a decent opportunity in the latter part of the year to do some real damage. Unfortunately it wasn’t to be as he could only score 43 goals which gives him a total of 89 for the year. Not even a perfect 10 in his last five games could save the challenge this year. To be honest I’m surprised he got this much as up until December he was only on 31 goals and managed 12 in the month alone.

Season Five

I can only apologise for the delay in updates lads, I’ve been extremely busy this past week plus I’ve had the Challenge Cup to concentrate on. I’ve got time for an update now though, so let’s find out how our trio got on.

Transfers

Outgoing:

Two players leaving us this season as we only make minor changes to the squad now that the majority of players are in place. Areola - our second string goalkeeper leaves us for Borussia Dortmund, whilst Joel Matip - our fourth choice centre back heads back to English soil. To the sunny resort of Burnley to be precise.A49563B6-D900-4E4E-83D1-CD9CBA37236A.thumb.png.aec5c5ebca853516124801ab77a79cfe.png

Incoming:

That left us with two positions needing to bolster. A centre back, and a goalkeeper. That’s what we went and purchased, as Jan Oblak comes in from Atletico Madrid for a fee of £124m, and Timothy Fosu-Mensah comes in from United for the cool sum of £72m. Both players would play a decent chunk of the season, with Oblak usurping De Gea as our undisputed number one.3124309C-5032-4DF3-AEBC-F60B9256EDEF.thumb.png.a4fbb03d1ab5ca701e4137c1f5410533.png

Competitions

  • Trophée des Champions - Beat Monaco 2-1
  • European Super Cup - Beat Atletico Madrid 4-0
  • Club World Cup - Beat Seattle 4-0
  • Coupe de la Ligue - Beat Lille 4-2
  • French Cup - Beat Toulouse 3-0
  • League - Won the League by a huge 41 point margin
  • Champions League - Beat Manchester City 3-1

Kylian Mbappé 1k Challenge:

This lad is just something else entirely. 23 years of age now and he is an absolute beast. He managed to play in 56 games once again this season with fitness being an issue at the latter stages of the season. He trounced last seasons tally of 91 goals with a very cool 95! Five goals short of the century season that he most definitely would have had, had he been on free kick duties.

Challenge Totals:

Games: 267

Goals: 417

Kai Havertz Assists Challenge:

Same as the guy above, this man is on another spectrum of awesome. He’s slightly down once again this season with 43 assists, compared to his 55 from a couple seasons ago, but I am putting this down to the tactical shift I made to allow Alaba some more freedom on the flanks which we’ll go into next.

Challenge Totals:

Games: 267

Assists: 234

Triple Threat Assists Challenge:

Last season saw Alaba deliver 10 assists to get this challenge back on track. As I said above, I have made a tactical switch to allow him a bit more freedom, the only negative in doing this is that it hampered Havertz’s contribution. We’ve already see that Mbappé had his best season to date this time around with 15 assists, whilst Havertz collected 43. Alaba once again capitalised on his new found freedom and delivered 11 assists to set a new high for himself in this career. It’s definitely back on track now 😁

Challenge Totals:

Alaba - 35/51

Havertz - 234/162

Mbappé- 48/102

Thanks for reading! Yeah Mbappé is just a different breed this year, I’ve already completed a 1k with him as part of a Double Trouble career. I’m aiming for 1.5k in this one. I’m hoping to get the international job, but it seems to be much harder to get this year.

Yeh I don’t think I’ve had an international offer in any of my saves yet, he sure is a different breed. I’ve not used him in the game yet, this makes me want to see what I can get out of him.

2022 Calendar Year Challenge

So this challenge has already been completed a couple of ingame years ago, so my next target is to see how many times Mbappé can get his name on the leaderboard in this one career. For the first six months of 2022 Mbappé was on fire and netted a personal best of 52 goals in the second half of the season. That left us needing only 40 goals in the latter half of the year to complete the challenge yet again.

My god did he smash that target down. He adds onto his 52 from the opening part with another 52 to match, that gives him a total of 104 goals in the calendar year. Absolutely smashed it with two goals a week on average.

2 goals a week is awesome this guy is firing on all cylinders. I predict he’ll smash that again next year, his tally just keeps going up.

Cheers lads! I can’t see that happening again tbh, unless I get the ITN job

He usually has a drop in form in the second half of seasons to be honest. Last season was the exception

Season 6

Just plodding along with this save now, and season six promises to be our most successful so far on all fronts. First off I decided to change tactic this season, and it was something resembling my one defender Double Trouble career, only difference really being this one has two defenders and the single striker up top. Here she is in all her glory....35D86B18-1182-4ED9-83E9-349C869676A6.jpeg.1d6b4f1c847bd363f193d0dcaf0580ff.jpeg

I was hoping for much more goals with this tactic, especially from Mbappé himself. The aim was 100+ to be precise. I’ve done it with a defender in the shape of Kristoffer Ajer at the start of the year, surely the games best wonderkid could do it too!

Transfers

Outgoing:

A couple of faces leaving us this year, Arne Maier was getting sick of playing second fiddle to Havertz and £32.5m was too much to turn down from Real Madrid, Ziyech was a sell I was actively looking for and was surprised when Stoke came in for him. That left room in the squad for a left winger and an attacking midfielder...

Incoming:

We raid the Manchester clubs as my DT hero Leroy Sané comes in for a whopping £180m from City and Callum Gribbin comes in from United. He looks really good might I add, he’s developed really well so I wasn’t afraid to part with £52m for his services.

  • Club World Cup - Beat América 2-0
  • Coupe de la Ligue - Beat Bordeaux 3-0 with Mbappé grabbing another brace
  • French Cup - Beat Marseille 4-1
  • League - an unbeaten campaign which saw us score 133 goals

Kylian Mbappé 1k Challenge:

First off, just wow. What a season this lad had. I’ll tell you from the off he’s scored more goals in a single season than I’ve ever produced before. Beating the 110 I set with Kristoffer Ajer (a defender might i add!) and scoring a huge 117 goals throughout! The change of tactic worked and it was a gamble that paid off, thankfully. Look at his form page for the final 20 games of the season.. 36 goals in 19 games!

Absolutely gobsmacked with this, I knew I could get 100+ with him, but to get 117 is just brilliant. I think I’ve only seen Prize hit more, with Isak last year. Apologies if I’ve missed someone who has though!

Challenge Totals:

Games: 330

Goals: 534

Kai Havertz Assists Challenge:

Havertz’s role changed slightly this year, he was now pushed up onto the AMC line as an AP, although he did play a few games on the right side as an AM, I eventually settled on the left side as an AP as his best position in this new formation. He had his best goalscoring season for us this year, which is no surprise considering his new found advanced position on the pitch. He did however also get back up to his best assists wise with a nice round 50 for the season. He’s still on all set piece duties and I’d like to say that 75%+ of the Assists come from those.

Triple Threat Assists Challenge:

By now we already know the crack with this challenge, so let’s get straight into it. We’ve already seen Mbappé has 13 Assists this season, and Havertz has 50. That leaves David Alaba in his new found IWB role, where he yet again managed a respectable 10 assists for the season, that’s with a month long injury included, go David! 😝

As for your formation, did you get that from the CC? I'm using a similarish formation there, though with the WBs further back and some of the roles different. I very briefly considered 1 CB, then decided it wasn't possible because we have to field the weaker CB - wondering if you had a similar thought process....

142!! 😳😳 wow....

You remember my Double 1k save with Kane and Sané? That formation was a one CB one, this one is based on that.

As for the CC I did think of using this but then I didn’t want to bring out the big guns just yet 😂 hope it doesn’t come back to bite me on the ass.

LOL, the 142 has to be taken with a grain of salt. It was in my Second Chances career - I chose not to register Armstrong for a 1KC in that career, even though he got there, because of the techniques I was using. He was playing in a lower league team, with Champions League quality teammates, all on £325K per week (or whatever the 2017 limit was).

So yeah, I don't count it as official, but couldn't resist throwing that screenshot in for a laugh!! 😂

Haha, yeah I remember. I'm sure you are going to ace the CC. Your medium guns are better than my big guns! 😄

Where can I find that? I can’t remember it! Link me to it if you can 😁

Amazing season @Nucleus. What are the instructions? You don't have to show me if you want to keep it secret.😛

Thanks mate. Instructions change depending on circumstances, but to be honest I’m not going to release what I start with/change etc as some people can become arsey when they can’t replicate the tactic properly 😂
